NO! Where’s the non-metals and metaloids?!
are they hydrogen or helium
oxygen, carbon, sulfur, xenon, iodine, neon, etc etc.

…. You’re breaking my chemistry nerd brain. Hhhuuuhhhh???

but but, science is science?!
and different fields of science have different conventions and definitions for their unique contexts
This is easily the best Thread I’ve ever made. 🌧️
Here’s a tiny visual menu in case you’re not sure what each menu item is (thanks, Ecosia! 🌳)
Okidoke! ^o^
Cloud Eggs 🌧️ Basically, you whip the whites into a fluffy, cloud-like merengue & bake. Very nice on toast. Some recipes have you top it with cheese &/herbs (like this one!), but I also saw some that included bacon o.o I shared a simpler one to try first from The Spruce Eats - when I made these, I remember the yolks being tricky, so be careful! 🥚
Harusame Soup 🌧️ A nice, light soup with clear glass noodles. In this house, we also include ground chicken or pork to add a little body to it (1/4 lb for 2 bowls of soup) - take a peek at her FAQ for more ideas 💭 There’s also harusame salad - very customizable & cooling (great for this heat lol ☀️)
Raindrop Cake 🌧️ I haven’t made this yet (never used agar before, though I want to someday to make other Japanese jelly desserts like anmitsu & coffee jelly ^p^), but I imagine it’s very refreshing like most jellies. This would also be from Just One Cookbook (my go-to), but as she doesn’t have raindrop cake, Chopstick Chronicles is also good! 📖
Cloud Cookies 🌧️ This one requires you to have a cloud cookie cutter, but I found one pretty easily online. ☁️ From there it’s a simple sugar cookie & icing recipe. This recipe used store bought dough (no problem with that!), but if you have a nice one you like to make from scratch, go ahead & use that instead. ^o^/ (in my hypothetical cafe, I may want to use butterfly pea tea to make a natural blue color 🩵)
London Fog Latte 🌧️ If you’ve never had it, it’s basically an Earl Gray latte infused with lavender & vanilla (very nice =u=). Dessert For Two has made a number of little desserts Ikrit & I have enjoyed, so I imagine this is just as lovely (& while you’re there, look for a little dessert to enjoy with it!). ☕️🪻

Writing these makes me dream up what I would add to the menu >u< 💭 Harusame salad, absolutely. Definitely like the idea of jellies like anmitsu & coffee jelly.
Oh! Or this blue sky jelly that one Japanese artist Tomei made using whipped cream as clouds, or that rain cake she made where I was like “if I was a cake” ✨
Possibilities are as endless as the sky~ 🩵

My "Transparencies" quilt took 1st in category (pieced modern traditional) in my guild's recent show!
This was my first big guild show and while I hoped to place, landing in first was a happy surprise! I've also entered this quilt into an upcoming juried show (also my first), so keep your fingers crossed for me.
Pokemon has never had a generation where all three starter pokemon are mammals. Two generations- gens 1 and 3- have had zero mammals, and from gens 5-8 there've been two mammals to pick from, but none have had three mammals. I think this is an important part of the franchise's brand.
Back when gen 8 got leaked someone pointed out that you can generally tell a real GameFreak Pokedex from a fakemon dex by the amount of "ugly" pokemon and the number of invertebrates and inanimate objects, and I think there's a similar thing going on here- Pokemon genuinely makes an effort to make its monsters varied.
The last 15ish years have seen so much ink spilled on the Vanillish line, on gen 1 designs, etc etc, but I think it bears repeating how easy it is for a Mons game to stick to charismatic animals like mammals and birds and dinosaurs and pets. And pokemon does have that (we have, what, six cat lines? more if you count regional meowths) but it also makes sure to add, like. A crinoid. A bagworm. A bell. Creepy humanoid mushrooms, a sand castle, a big iceberg.
Something would be lost if every single pokemon was as cool as Haxorus or as cute as Snom or as furrybait as Goodra. Pokemon succeeds because it lets you be best friends with shit that's just weird.
"ohhh op is telling on herself for calling goodra furrybait" idk maybe you're telling on yourself for how you have no furry friends. do better.
That man should NOT be rendered in high definition.
Take at least 70% of his polygons and all of his normal mapping away this instant!
Woke tomadachi life has given me some hope for how they’re going to handle Sheik but if they make his model curvy I will do whatever they did to Doug Bowser to their new CEO.

Recently managed to activate the most amazing infodump trap card.
I was driving through Vermont with a friend, and we pulled over at a tiny shop offering Maple Items. We were on the state highway, not the interstate, so "pulling over" meant "squeezing my tiny car into a parking bay the size of a broad highway shoulder."
As we got out of the car, an older woman emerged from behind the building where she had been pruning her roses. She introduced herself as Tammy.
Her shop offered the promised variety of Maple, but also a number of small antiques and a plethora of dog figurines, plaques, and clearly-hand-stitched garden flags.
A huge purple ribbon hung on the wall behind the register, along with many pictures of small dogs. This was no county fair ribbon. It was the size of my torso. The material had the soft sheen of actual silk.
As I placed my purchases on the counter, I asked, "Do you... Breed dogs?"
Yes. She does. She has bred Yorkies for the last 40 years. Her mother bred Yorkies before her. The purple ribbon was from her national championship winning Yorkie.
You may be expecting that the infodump was going to be about Yorkies.
It was not.
It was about 40 years of drama in the Yorkie breeding community. Where – you must understand – the judging at shows is often about who you're in with, not about the dogs. This is especially true when Tammy's opponents win anything.
And Tammy's mother! Well. Phyllis has been on the Yorkie scene since Yorkies were invented. Because of this, many women of equally venerable age hold deep grudges against Phyllis. The sort of grudges that result in episodes of Midsommar Murders.
This led to deep injustices against Phyllis on the part of judges and prevented her dogs from winning so often she retired from the scene. Judging is all about who you're friends with, after all.
After 20 years in hiding, Phyllis – the One True Queen of Yorkie Breeding – hatched a plot. She may have been out of the show circuit, but she was still breeding dogs. She entered an absolutely perfect bitch in the national competition, but sent her with a handler rather than go in person.
None of the usurpers knew who this dog belonged to, and in dog-breeding circles this Does Not Happen. This could have resulted in further injustices, but Phyllis was crafty. She knew this tournament was being judged by a man from the UK, who knew naught of the drama in the US Yorkie Empire.
With these advantages – and being the best dog there – Phyllis's bitch won the highest honor at the show.
Incensed by this insult to their ill-gotten supremacy, the other owners descended on the handler after the show, demanding to know for whom he was working.
"Phyllis," said he.
The name of the overthrown queen evoked horror in the usurpers.
"PHYLLIS!? She's still ALIVE!???"
Yes, Phyllis yet lived, and this bitch – the dog, not the woman – went on to mother Tammy's current dogs. One of whom, Lucy-Fur, is the reincarnation of Tammy's sister (also Lucy). This is certain for two reasons.
Firstly, Sister Lucy absolutely went straight to Hell upon her death, and Lucy-Fur the dog is positively as evil as Sister Lucy was.
Secondly, Sister Lucy always said when she died she wanted to come back as one of Phyllis's dogs because "mom treated the dogs better than us."
[Video description: Gritty is turning the crank on a flagpole to raise the Progress Pride Flag. He gesticulates angrily that the flag is not blowing in the wind, then gestures offscreen. The flag begins blowing. As Gritty begins raising the flag more, the camera pans out to show a man in a suit and sunglasses, looking like a stern Secret Service agent, is holding a leafblower that points at the flag. End description.]

i wish people would stop romanticizing not eating breakfast and not getting enough sleep and being dependent on coffee to function and always being in a bad mood and treating yourself poorly because that behavior is very unhealthy for you
He’s right.
It's been a while since I said "this person wins the internet", but today it is merited.

It's been just over a year since Deltarune chapters 3 & 4 released! I did the 3D work, which mostly means Tenna 📺 I figured it's been long enough to share some "behind the scenes" stuff, starting with a look at the Maya file for his static poses...
I'd individually render the poses to get that early 3D shine ✨ Here's some of them at their original resolutions! I would work from text descriptions from Toby, and sometimes there'd be a Paint sketch to help out. Gigi drew the concept that I modeled from and some poses too!
I had a lot of fun pushing myself to match the dynamic poses Toby had in mind for Tenna - making him so crazy and expressive was something I couldn't have done without his prompts. He'd draw the faces on afterward too, which really brought Tenna to life!
(lots more after the Read More cut...!)
Pokemon GO's new log-in screen for Forever Forward is a throwback to one of its oldest ones!
I’m not sure which one came first but I’m happy for their transition!
Good for her and for the family and for pedestrian safety :)
