Ma'Khia Bryant, a 15 year old Black girl, was fucking murdered by a cop in Columbus, Ohio, after calling the police for help because she was being jumped by another group of teenage girls, she had a knife on her that she had for self-defense and the fucker rolled up and shot her 4 times, apparently without telling her to drop the knife according to bystanders, and this happened roughly 20 minutes before Chauvin's verdict in court for the murder of George Floyd

Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther fucking quoting MLK to us roughly an hour after the murder, called 15 year old Ma'Khia a "young woman" who "tragically lost her life" long after news broke about her

For people unaware about Columbus, the CPD is one of the deadliest police departments in the country, and has a track record of murders and assaults on POC, particularly Black people, Including the murder of Andre Hill last December and maced Rep. Joyce Beatty and City Council President Hardin at a BLM protest last summer

Hey I know people mean well but y’all need to watch how you tag peoples donation posts. Like, I know it’s important to tag possible triggers for your followers but when you tag a post by someone trying to escape an abusive situation as “abuse tw”, due to blacklist functions you are making it so their post doesn’t reach as wide of an audience and therefore they are less likely to get the help they need to escape their situation.

I understand that it can be distressing to see their post but imagine how the person making it feels living in that situation and not being able to reach the audience they deserve to be able to reach for help? Like, if the post has graphic details or photos, I get tagging it. But if someone is like “I’m trying to escape my abuser and improve my situation”, you really probably shouldn’t tag it with a tw.

Obviously y’all can do what you want but this is just some food for thought. It’s hard enough to ask for and receive help on this site so maybe make sure you’re not contributing to that.

Can y’all reblog this please?? Adding trigger warnings to people’s donation posts is a sure fire way to make that post lose traction and die. Too many of y’all have been doing this and contributing to what makes receiving help so difficult on tumblr.

Please do not add trigger warnings to people’s donation posts unless there are actually pictures and/or graphic details of triggering things! Stop tagging them just for mentioning potentially triggering things! You’re making it harder for desperate people to get help when you do that!

Unlawful assembly has officially been declared at the protest at the precinct on Humboldt in Brooklyn Center, MN, over the murder of Daunte Wright. A dispersal order has been issued to the crowd. Armored trucks with SWAT have arrived at the precinct on Humboldt. Protests will be going all night, and the way it's looking right now, they will be escalated by the police into violence. Please stay vigilant and close to your people. Flashbangs, rubber bullets, and smoke bombs are being used already.
