OBAMANEY
Election season. Looming, Interminable. Can it stop? Now. Please.
"Mitt Romney's campaign is putting on the brass knuckles in preparation for a no-holds-barred counteroffensive against President Obama's onslaught against the presumptive GOP nominee." "Democrats have entered the go-for-the-jugular stage of the presidential race, with President Barack Obama's campaign, the Democratic National Committee and an allied opposition research group all releasing videos Tuesday attacking Mitt Romney for his refusal to release more tax returns."
Does anybody know who you contact to get added to the NFL Players class action against the NFL regarding head injury and player safety? Based on Jim McMahon’s position, I more than qualify.
“I’ll have little lapses,” McMahon said. “I’ll walk into a room and forget why I went in there. That’s becoming more frequent. I forget to call people back, and they’ll ask, ‘Why didn’t you call me?’ I don’t know. I forgot they called.”
Just so I understand the lay of the land here...a player has $200 wired to him from an AAU coach which, one would hope, an objective person would see as a steep, slippery slope and a violation. The AD suspends the player which is the only choice he had. Martin goes ballistic, says the player didn't do anything wrong. He needed the money "for food and to take a date to the movies."
(An aside. Aah . . . when I was in college there were plenty of weekends where I didn't have money for food or to go out on the town. It's called college and I wasn't getting paid $30,000 to attend the university.)
El Coacho Furioso then goes on national TV and states that he has frequently sent money to players he coached in high school. “I’m not going to tell you who they were, but I sent them a lot of money over the years. . ."
And John Currie is the one in the crosshairs? The world has changed.
There are few true universal truths in life. However, the raisin cookie is always the last player picked.
Jackson Pollock turns 100 on Saturday. Like many great creative types he was birthed by the frontier on January 28, 1912 in Cody, Wyoming. Go create something new this weekend.
PARENTAL FAILURE
So we are in route to school this morning. Me, Thing 1 and Thing 2 on the way to Cure. Hit a red light. Van Halen's Panama comes on. Like any good parent in that situation I turn it up to 11. Within seconds Drew is drumming. Jake is strumming. I am proud. We procede up the street and hit another red light.
"Dad, when we get into the school parking lot, be sure to turn the music down," says Drew.
That might be the single lowest moment of my nine-year parenting career.
“Most inventors and engineers I’ve met are like me ... they live in their heads. They’re almost like artists. In fact, the very best of them are artists. And artists work best alone .... I’m going to give you some advice that might be hard to take. That advice is: Work alone... Not on a committee. Not on a team.” -- Steve Wozniak
If you have ever crossed the street or turned around to avoid a meaningless small take, more insights here.
The amazing story of how our supersecret, Cold-War spy satellites took photos of the Soviet empire and dropped them to Earth, all without the help of computers, bandwidth, or digital cameras.

He might've been a tyrant and a whack job, but you have to admit the man had panache.
Free at last. .
Free at last, free at last. Thank God almighty, I am free at last.
Thank you, Dr. Vinegar!
Dr. Vinegar! Hello! We are waiting.
Dr. Vinegar, what is the hold up over there? Please end our 2-plus years of torture and embarrassment and remove the Nebraska QB from the sidelines in Lawrence.
Walt Disney World - November 2011 - The Final Ride
All I want for Christmas. . .
is to wake up tomorrow morning, Nov. 27, and read that Turner Gill has been canned and is driving north toward the land of corn.
Apparently, it's OK to be like me.
Yes, its been a long year on Mount Oread gridiron. Before we bring out the long knives on Turner Gill, I think its important that we evaluate all the positives he has brought to the State of Kansas' flagship university. For your consideration, listed below are the positives and achievements from his coaching career.
Ear aches and Tim McCarver
It's hard to believe someone as stupid as Tim McCarver can live to age 70 and never be killed by walking out in front of a car.
