"It turned toward the light, whatever it was, and seemed to open as a flower might, growing tall more swiftly, almost, than the eye could follow it, thinning until it had become a creature of glowing gauze, hot yet somehow reptilian..."

Legend of Lodoss art by Akihiro Yamada. Source.
New remix/edit, this time of Kei Wakakusa's "Dreaming Sunz" (composed for the "Heavy Metal L-Gaim" OST).
The sample's vibe was perfect for a mecha battle soundtrack, and this sequence from "Hades Project Zeorymer" fit the AMV perfectly.

B2 sized promotional poster for the VHS and Beta releases of the first volume of the original anime video series "Hyper Combat Unit Dangaioh", AE Planning Co., Ltd, September 1987
Often I'll download images and find them years later and then try to research what the hell it is and why I downloaded it in the first place.
So this must have been when I was researching the rather large female fandom around the robot anime TV series "Six God Combination Godmars". I think it's fair to say a lot of that fandom was centred around two male lead characters; Takeru Myojin and Marg.
I have no idea which magazine this page is from, however it shows three "Godmars" fans buying animation cels and related material from an anime shop called Anime House that was located in Kioicho, Chiyoda, Tokyo (and of course I can't find evidence that this place existed other than this article) and seems to be from around late 1981. The magazine has only one quote from the three teenagers; "We are fans of Takeru Myojin and buy 'Godmars' cels, but we aren't really cel collectors". The teenager on the right is holding a photograph of Yu Mizushima who voiced Takeru Myojin in "Godmars". Mizushima also had a singing career and had released four albums and several singles by the end of 1981.

B2 sized bonus poster for the cassette and compact disc releases of "Mobile Suit SD Gundam: I'm Gonna Arrest You❤︎", Starchild/King Records, January 1990. This compilation album is another strange spin off of "SD Gundam", and includes two new audio dramas, previously released songs from the "SD Gundam" OVAs and a new song by Yuko Mizutani. The poster and album cover artwork is by Yuzo Takada.

kenji ohba passed away yesterday
from JAE's twitter:
[Obituary] We regret to inform you that our business partner, actor Kenji Ohba, passed away on May 6, 2026, at the age of 72, after a long illness. We express our heartfelt gratitude for your kindness and support during the deceased's lifetime, and we respectfully inform you of this news. The wake and funeral will be held privately with only close family members present, in accordance with the wishes of the bereaved family.
i'll try to add his colleague's messages as well since he was so deeply loved and respected by everybody
Kenji Ohba. I was able to become Space Sheriff Sharivan thanks to you. I'd love to go back someday and shout "Vaporize! Red Flash!" to give a pep talk to my junior space detectives! It became an unfulfilled dream. JAC was a big part of our youth. I won't forget! thank you very much.
Kenji, I'm truly saddened by this. I truly believed he would recover, so I haven't come to terms with it yet, but I'm so grateful for everything he did for me during his lifetime. All my memories of Kenji are bright, fun, and filled with laughter—they're all sparkling and wonderful. I offer my deepest condolences.
Kenji Ohba has passed away. Although I was prepared for this, I can't help but feel disappointed now that the time has actually come. He's a fellow member of JAC (Japan Action Club), and we've been rivals and allies since our teens, fighting together to spread action in Japan. I will never forget the decades we spent together. Kenji, get plenty of rest. You really did a great job. My deepest condolences to the grief of your family, and I cherish the memory of your loved one as we pray for their soul to rest in peace. Junichi Haruta
Also I'm crossposting these Japanese variant covers of the first four books by Yoshitaka Amano— before I forget to talk about them on here. Struggling to think of an artist whose aesthetics are better suited to these books!
