Ok sigh I know this feels like a lost cause because they're against a popular character with a popular solo run that came out around the same time as his popular mcu tv show, but please give joshkevin a chance if you haven't voted yet!!

Wither and Elixir are introduced as direct opposites of each other. Kevin has this awful power that kills everything he touches but he's a nice person who wants to join the X-Men and learn to do something good with his power. Josh is a jerk who wants to be popular not matter with what crowd, but he's also a omega level healer.

They like the same girl and they'll use that as a reason to pick a fight at every chance. Which...

And then there's Kevin's Evil Therapy™. Garrison is a bad person with ulterior motives to be wanting information out of Kevin (especially information about Laurie), but Kevin just Keeps bringing up Josh

And then he gets incentivized by evil therapist to tell the faculty about Rahne grooming Josh for selfish reasons (breaking Josh and Laurie up)

I'm not even gonna get much in the merit that when the House of M crossover kicks in, in the supposedly perfect mutant world, Josh and Kevin are doing some freak evil shit together because they just won their other poll. But it is interesting to say the least!

After House of M the direction of the book abruptly changes, Laurie gets hurt by Kevin so the new writers have a reason to take him out of the book, then fridged so Josh can get a new powerset and Kevin has a reason to give in to evil grooming by Selene. Yikes! The next time they interact is years later, during the Necrosha event when Kevin is out of his mind killing people for Selene, and Josh gets ordered by Emma Frost to kill Kevin. #doomedyaoi

I also need you guys to know that I ended a 216 streak of not looking at Necrosha for this. Yes I have a timer for that. Yes I am normal about Kevin Ford thank you for noticing.

One thing to point out about the pages above: Kevin is talking about killing everyone, and blaming Josh for Laurie's death, but when Josh tells him that he loved Laurie too, Kevin seems to snap back to his true personality. He doesn't know what's going on, he's begging for his life, but Josh is already killing him.

After this happens, Josh loses his ability to heal for a while. He kills Kevin and gets basically stuck with Kevin's power.

And then a decade passes in real life and Krakoa happens. Josh is part of the Five, the group of mutants responsible for every resurrection. Which means that he killed Kevin but also brought Kevin back to life. VERY Evanescence - Bring Me To Life of them, if you ask me.

The next and last time we see them together is on Gwenpool Love Unlimited. Gwenpool decides to date a guy she can't touch for reasons that are not at all about her asexuality (cough cough) and 100% about her wanting a big romance for story purposes. So she starts dating Kevin. But when she finds out that Kevin can, in fact, touch her, she decides to stage a love triangle situation and IMMEDIATELY brings up Josh.

But when she tries to get Josh and Kevin to fight over her they just... don't

Which lead us to the image on the poll of them lovingly embracing each other because they are SUCH GOOD FRIENDS now.

look, I can endure any kind of UI changes that are supposed to help tumblr-rookies to understand how this works. They may be a nuisance, but that's ok, we have x-kit or we can get used to buttons being here or there.

It is important when discussing the workplace environment that it is a product of capitalism as it's privatized healthcare. Therefore the incentive of upper management is to gain more and more money, is done at the expense of its workers.

The problem is the reality of these environments, no matter how good and kind and compassionate a person you are, the toxic work environment will ALWAYS deteriorate and utilize that aspect of you. Especially in a care field.

These work environments prey on people who have those qualities because it means those people are often the ones most willing to give their all to the job. Because you project not being able to do the job as failure to help and therefore a failure of yourself.

We see this specifically in Robby and Mohan, with Whitaker mimicking this already. And how I think this contrasts with Mckay.

Robby we know in S1 is not the Robby that the staff know, or at least not to the same extent. We know his staff is comfortable with him, we know that patients do in fact like him, we know he fights for the rights of his workers and his advocation for patient care. We know he is an advocate for students. But as his health deteriorates, we learn that he is in fact so specifically attached to the job that he not only internalizes all his students failures (as demanded by the job), he holds himself to near impossible standards (making it worse when he fails those ideals), and he refuses work life balance. We learn that the job to Robby IS his life. And realizing that maybe giving everything to the job was not as worth it as he thought it was is disheartening and a hard thing to learn.

He consistently is afraid to leave it because he's scared it will fall apart (great metas out there about people do in fact place that idea in him, it's not just his need for control, its been reinforced by those around him). He feels as though the job needs him as much as he needs it because he's given EVERYTHING to it. To the expense of his health and his relationships.

He gains a promotion seemingly between S1 and S2, which coincides with pittfest, a time he feels as a failure even though they saved SO MANY people. Robby internalizes his inability to save the 6 with Leah being the face of it. But it's also now given to us he doesn't even take the required time off and hasn't likely since COVID! Everything to Robby is the job, and as S1 relationships deteriorated he is more isolated in S2 more than ever.

Mohan mimicks this! she has no social life outside of work, she barely wanted to leave after the MCI. Mckay has called her out on it multiple times. She's not lonely! she has the job! Everything is about the job and she will give everything to it. So when she realizes that actually her mom is lonely, her future in the job is insecure and she's now realized she's lonely and isolated, we see as she experiences the panic attack. In this time where her health starts to deteriorate we see the same lashing out at patients, the same denial in help before forced by Joy. Because the job is also taking everything from her, just like it did Robby.

We than have Whitaker, who while not being taken over by the job yet because he's fresh and new, we see he's willing to cross very serious ethical boundaries. Because he's good natured! he wants to help Amy, she just needs help! while not at the hospital it IS tied to how he will treat patients as he gets more into the field. Because he wants to give everything. While not to the point Samira and Robby are, it IS a pattern that would continue if not interrupted early, which is the concern Robby and Santos have.

This is all contrasted with the most work-life balanced individual, Mckay. She has the benefit of life experience and age as she comes into the field compared to Robby, Mohan and Whitaker, who likely went straight into the field at a younger age. She has to have a work-life balance to maintain her relationship with Harrison. She's already experienced her life's low and has come out of it on the other side. She's the one who frequently reminds Mohan that the job can't be your life. As much as she mentions she's lonely and needs to get laid, it comes from a place of realizing this not as a place where she's actively neglected this aspect of herself.

the pitt fan artists are doing wonders for noah wyle's self esteem and honestly it's no surprise he's into it because every fan artist is depicting robby as big and broad and jacked and noah is INFAMOUSLY long and lanky and scrawny. y'all that man has STAYED being made fun of for being a french fry since the goddamn 1990s. like if we were being deadass, dennis farm boy whitaker who spends his weekends doing heavy manual labor would absolutely stretch out robby’s t-shirts. there is a reason the costume team has layered robby up with a thermal and scrubs and a fleece to make him look more imposing. so of course he's in the comments!! finally someone thinks he's thick as hell and that string bean of a man is LIVING!!

okay blowing up my spot maybe because I saw someone say Al-Hashimi isn't threatening Robby's job. Yes, she is. She may be an unwilling and/or unwitting threat to his job, but she is a threat to his job. Here's how we know:

Robby is disliked by the brass. Although we haven't seen Gloria this season, we remember last season when he was in constant trouble throughout the day. This puts his job in question. They may not be able to outright fire him but they can harass and deny him support until they drive him out. I've been in workplaces where this happened.

Al-Hashimi has presented herself as competition. She arrived earlier than expected and before Robby. Without consulting him, she implemented changes in policy (using AI, patient passports, new expectations about charts.) This is his ER. This isn't about her "submitting to his authority," this is about being respectful to someone who is your equal. When someone is your equal, you collaborate. You come in and show them "here's this patient passport I made, what do you think? how would your staff respond to this? would this be helpful to you?" She didn't do that. She imposed her changes. And yes, she said she wanted his advice and I feel a little bad for her because I think she came in with respect for him and really did want his feedback, but implementing first isn't good leadership or good management on her part!

An interim's job is not to make a lot of changes. An interim's job is to keep things running smoothly. Have you ever had a new boss come in and change everything without getting to know the staff? Did you like that? Did you respect that person? What if they were only going to be there for three months? Why is she doing this if she doesn't think she's permanent? I think she means to be helpful, but I completely understand if Robby sees this as an attack on his leadership. His leadership is under attack from the board constantly.

She's giving contradictory instructions while he's here. Her first day should have been observing the ER and watching how Robby does things. NOT out of deference to Michael fucking Robinavitch but to provide quality leadership to the staff of this ER. I have leadership training. I have working experience. When you come into a new community, you need to get to know that community before you make changes. You've got Santos running around with Mom telling her to do her charts right now and Dad telling her to do them later. Santos shouldn't be expected to change to Al-Hashimi's expectations on day one! It's not fair to HER. And it communicates to Robby that she doesn't respect him, she doesn't respect that this is his ER, and she doesn't respect her temporary position here. It's possible that none of that is true, but it's the message she's sending. It's what I would think if I were Robby. Just because they have equal status as doctors doesn't mean that she shouldn't approach him as the expert in his staff! She hasn't asked him one damn question about how he does things. That's not about gendered power that's just how you transition leadership. I would also expect a man coming into this ER to spend his first day observing and asking questions.

The board told her about the cyberattack before Robby! You can tell this was wildly inappropriate because even Al-Hashimi was uncomfortable and immediately reassuring Robby that she didn't intend for them to do that. I don't necessarily think she came in gunning for his job but if she hasn't figured out at this point that something is wrong here she's a fool.

Is Robby handling any of this well? No, he's being a little bitch about it. He should have said first thing, "I'm sorry, I wasn't expecting you here so early. Can I get my bearings and then we can talk about the passports?" instead of avoidantly pretending to be fine with everything. He had another opportunity at "Why are you treating me like a resident?" to say "I feel like you've overstepped" but avoided it again. Who is surprised? That man's one move is escape.

But seeing people act like Al-Hashimi has been perfectly respectful and in her lane drives me crazy. This is an insane way to act as an interim. "Diversity win: The new boss pissing territorially over everything is a woman!" That's how y'all sound to me. They're both behaving terribly and I won't defend either one of them. In the middle of their pissing contest is a staff with no leadership. That's who I sympathize with.

You can enjoy things in fiction that would be awful in the real world. Like playing a murderhobo in a game! In the real world, being or supporting a murderer-thief would be pretty damn awful, while in the game it's just good fun. Same with anything else you choose to do with the pixels on the screen, like kinks that don't affect anyone real, so they're okay in fiction, but would be pretty damn bad in real life.

No one else is responsible for your online experience. They are required not to harass you, but they are not and never will be obligated to not post about ships, kinks, or tropes you dislike just to avoid you seeing them. It's up to you to blacklist words or phrases, block tags, or even block users as needed to avoid seeing content that upsets you.

No one can force you to read anything against your consent. Any content you don't like seeing can be instantly avoided by closing out of the offending post/fic.

Nothing that happens in your imagination can ever make you a bad person. Words you write or read about fictional characters will never make you a bad person.
