That post I made over new years had people at my THROAT for saying I only buy real leather. Sorry I really do think that wearing textured plastic that will fall apart in under 5 years and go on to irreparably poison the environment is the worse option here.
if you look into the mushroom leather or apple leather or cactus leather or any other plant-based alternatives, they're all still about 50-75% polyurethane. They'll still fall apart fast and then they wont decompose except into microplastics. They're just not sustainable. I thrift pretty much all my leather garments and some of them are 30 years old and still hold up like they're new. Like there's no contest.
i know things are hella grim in the nsfw/kink art circles especially in the last year --
but I'm hearing there's a NSFW-friendly ko-fi alternative built on atproto that's actively in the works, and being vetted by lawyers right now. as torrent-princess (OP) says, you should be able to swap out payment processors while keeping your account intact. this matters since even if stripe removes support, you'll still have a shop and all of your links intact. (ATproto is an infrastructure that bsky is built on, but is far bigger than bsky with far more opportunities.)
additionally, the Free Speech Coalition is working on a credit union specifically for adult work (including kink art) - here's the link so you can add your interest & support. Since this will be built by sex workers, there'll be far less risk of being debanked for spurious and puritanical reasons.
on a domain TLD level, there's an initiative here for a .furry domain built from the ground up by seasoned furries; it's unclear whether they'll support NSFW, but it's yet another promising turn of events for a group that's been similarly affected by censorship.
there are friends and allies out there helping to build a working parallel infrastructure. keep being vocal, keep supporting these initiatives when it's possible, and keep supporting your nsfw/kink artists. ♥
i think MORE characters should be rape survivors. i think more characters should be csa survivors. i think more characters should be dv survivors. i think strong and noble and attractive and charming and brilliant characters with indomitable spirits should be survivors. i think the most powerful characters in the world should be survivors. i think characters who are cultural icons should be survivors. i think victims and survivors should see ourselves in the most admirable and beloved characters around! i think we should be protagonists!!!
#‘it’s so unnecessary’ . okay . god yea this one drives me CRAZY. people will yap all day long about how it's "unnecessary" to make a character a survivor like do you think it was necessary for any of us to be abused or raped irl? was it narratively essential? did it teach the audience an important lesson? why do we, who have to justify our experiences and existences and reactions all the time in real life, also have to justify why we should exist in fiction? people act so repulsed by the thought of us. i've really fully and truly had enough of that. there is nothing so uniquely disgusting or repulsive or unspeakable about our victimhood or our survival that justifies this obsession with keeping the reality of our existence hidden
"oh but talking about it can be triggering for victims :(((" you know what else is triggering? living in a world that insists that we cannot be open and honest about what happened to us. maybe if we had, oh, i don't know, prominent examples in our cultural stories of people who are victims and are competent and strong it might be easier (for everyone, not just victims) to have the discussions we actually need to have about our trauma.

The fact that sports teams can be bought and sold from one city to another without the approval of city government despite cities, counties, and states spending hundreds of millions if not billions of tax dollars to construct arenas and stadiums for them is genuinely insane.
Might not be the most popular opinion in my circles tbh, but I'm actually okay with the government spending money on sports. I agree there are better things to spend the money on, but major sports teams are big parts of community and city culture all over the world, and have been for absolute ages. It's good entertainment, it's a sense of identity and community, it's something for people to rally behind, I like it. I think we go way overboard with how expensive our sports complexes are, but in principle I don't think there's anything wrong with a city government spending money to build a large sports complex or two for major sports teams in their city, so long as it gets regular and frequent usage, and can be repurposed for other events when the sport is out of season or not actively being played on a given day. Large sports complexes also make for really good places to install public transit hubs, because they are places of new construction often near downtown cores and often in areas with existing rail connections, as inexpensive and largely available real estate for these projects is most commonly available in old industrial areas, and because they see high game-day traffic from people all over the region it's kind of the perfect place to build inter-modal transit hubs. You can even integrate them with shops and restaurants that will see large influxes of game-day traffic and then regular business from commuter traffic.
HOWEVER.
The fact that all of this public investment can be made for a privately owned sports team, a team which then gets to reap all the profits of on-property sales, food and beverage sales, and often even surrounding property leases, and which maintains the power to just pick up and move out of town any fucking time they like, is downright batshit. What the fuck do you mean they can just pick up and move? what the fuck do you mean they can be sold to another owner in another city and relocated? despite demanding all of this public investment and keeping all they money made from it?????? how are they not forced to sign a fucking 50-year contract with the city if they want so much taxpayer money???? how does the city not have any ownership of the team if they build all the infrastructure for them???? what the fuck???????????

affirmations for the bus:
- it’s ok to be on-time
- you’re allowed to be at the stop at the time you’re meant to be there
- people won’t be upset if, when you get to the bus stop, you stop and let them onto the bus instead of making direct eye contact and driving away without stopping at the bus stop
- please
In 2026, the chicest thing a gay actor can do is never explicitly come out as gay but also make it abundantly clear that he is. Coming out is too modern. Staying closeted is too old fashioned. But this method merges contemporary freedom with Old Hollywood glamour and allure, and it weeds out the dumbest people who truly don’t get it. I call it the Pascal Method.
Taylor Swift does this
no she doesn’t
You clearly don't go here or to queer history and signaling, or both, enough to have this conversation and I'm not going to explain it to you. You could have asked questions, you could have done even a modicum of research. You didn't and you made yourself look ignorant. Goodbye.
kinda continuation of my previous art. anyway i think grace and rocky watched a bit of WWE before this

For those who don't know: Ikumi Nakamura is the woman who was senior artist on Bayonetta, and designed the titular character along with Hideki Kamiya. Their greatest moment of bonding was over their insistence that Bayonetta keep her glasses on at all times. Nakamura cannot go to horny jail. She is the warden.
Happy pride month to her and her exclusively
she made a comic about the experience on twitter

An Update from back in October I'm surprised wasn't added to this post. lol
#not to woke out on this fun post #but i do find it profoundly weird that it's normalized to react to a person harmlessly expressing sexual desire #for a character KNOWN to be widely considered attractive #with "you deserve violence and jail time for being horny haha. we should beat you with sticks" #like the underlying implications of the whole horny jail and related memes just feels too ominious for me to enjoy #like im glad she finds it funny. but why the fuck is it seen as normal to send a meme like that to a stranger? #"we said no horny" ON THE INTERNET??? ABOUT THE GIANT BIG TIDDY VAMPIRE LADY?????
You're not wrong and you should say it
happy pride month
everyone shut da fuck up this is the only thing that matters
