the convo between edward and jacob in eclipse is a great adaptational addition. i love how edward is like “tbh if the circumstances weren’t what they are, i might’ve actually liked you and wanted to be friends” and jacob is like “if the circumstances weren’t what they are id still think you’re a huge loser :/“

I love this picture because it just sums up the entire Twilight story for me.

Bella, gazing adoringly at Edward, focused solely on him and his glorious face.

Edward, looking brooding and conflicted.

Carlisle, representing every other character except maybe Jacob?, just kinda there in the background.

Like that's it, that's the book/movie. I get it's a romance and of course they're the focus but it will be forever baffling to me that SM made up all these other compelling, interesting characters and just . . . kind of kept them in the back corner 95% of the time. Most romances don't have 40-50 named side characters, they keep the cast small, because the focus is on the love story.
