Pepperony

I’m still upset about the events that unfolded in CA:CW.

I know it’s rather dumb but I see myself and my husband in Pepper and Tony, which I’ve explained before. For them to break up, to see him depressed and struggling to deal with this all without his anchor is really depressing.

I was so happy he didn’t return to the bottle (and I wish they addressed that demon before Disney execs took over but they did well with the PTSD plot I suppose) which shows tremendous growth but who helped him through that? I know it was Pepper that aided him to become a better man.

It’s highly doubtful he would throw their relationship away because he couldn’t quit the suits, and I don’t believe it’s supposed to parallel his addictive nature; since his desire to be a hero and help people is different from his past destructive behavior.

Now Pepper may be too worried at times to see that, especially with Ultron (and he was going to get her a secret hideaway) so I can see why he’d dawn the suit again - to protect her. I don’t think it would really wreck their relationship because she’s seen him through his highs and lows, despite what these directors did in CA:CW.

It’s a disservice to their relationship to throw it away in this film and I want to see it stronger than ever in future MCU installments.

I still hurt for Tony, like when my husband and I were apart before we got engaged. Yes it’s a bit silly but if he and I pulled through our darkest times, surely Tony and Pepper will too since they also have to save the world multiple times a year. :)

Also can I say how cute it was that Steve was rooting for them? He was looking forward to Iron Baby. :)

I’d love to see Rescue in future installments, but I don’t think that’ll happen since Pepper didn’t like the power in IM3 (which I think was a nod to Rescue’s arc in the comics). But I’d love to see everyone suited up to fight.

I’d also love to see Tony and Pepper married and with a baby.

But I’ll settle for Pepperony back again in the MCU because I’m still in denial. I don’t want Tony to suffer through the aftermath alone. :(

Haha this went up and down. Just like my current feels, a few days later after the movie. It’s cyclical.

CA:CW

Husband and I saw Captain America: Civil War today and I was upset from the beginning because of Tony and Pepper. My ship. :( I really hope she's in Infinity Wars since Favreau is a fan and he's a great director. I want to see a return to his directing style that I think the MCU needs since it's getting too serious. :/ Just kinda ranty and rambly now. I was upset for Tony all throughout and I really was hoping Pepper would show up towards the end of the movie but I knew that wouldn't happen because of their budget or the director's choice or whatever it was but I still was hoping there'd be some mention of her. At least I got a bit of my romance from Vision/Wanda. Super cute pair. I really enjoyed the movie overall but I'm not sure where they're going to go from here since we're in Phase 3 right now of the MCU. I would love to see Pepperony back and maybe even possibly Rescue on the screen. That would make me happy. I just want Tony to be happy and it doesn't seem like he will be after this phase. :(

Like I’m high key still upset about how the Pepper stuff was handled in Civil War. I get it the actress couldn’t be in the movie blah blah Hollywood politics but it could’ve been done so much better

there’s that moment where Tony tells Steve what’s going on and Steve is all “She’s pregnant” and just like that the much better plot line is presented and ignored.

Maybe they just didn’t want another pregnant lady plot line after the mess of AoU and yeah I can see the anti-feminist complaints now had it happened but pregnant Pepper made the most sense plot wise

For one this story relied heavily on the notion of family and the loss said family. We had the avengers as a pseudo-family group. The Bucky/Steve ‘family’ relationship. T'Challa’s motivation being the lost of his father. Zemo doing all of this to avenge his family. The mother showing Tony the picture of her dead son. And of course, the flashbacks + important the death of Tony’s parents.

All of this would’ve paralleled perfectly with Tony wanting to clean up his act and be held accountable because he’s about to have a family of his own.

Let’s be real it was hard enough watching anti-government Tony Stark go along with all of this and his motivation for doing so being a loose 'well maybe Pepper will take me back if I take others orders’ sounded like total bs. Whereas as 'I want to step back from the avengers and create a government sanctioned safety net because I’m about to have a child and I want the world to be a safer place for them’ feels like a more natural progression.

Maybe that’s just me?

I would love that. I even saw one of the characters kind of like a son for Tony (no spoilers) and I was hoping that Tony and Pepper we're going to start a family because it would mean a lot more to him but I can see why she couldn't keep risking it anymore.

I was still upset when it was confirmed in the first scene and I didn't want it to be true. :(

It’s been a while.

But is Jasper popular? and that was the reason to kill him? I mean he (and Alice) are my faves , but for instance he wasn't on that list of top ten characters to make the short films about. He was only part of one of the three, Alice films. So his death in BD, it could be argued, was for angst for Alice --who is a demonstrably popular character (see also, 3 out of 7 the short films being about her). And for, as you say.upping the stakes. Just saying, for arguments sake.

He wasn’t on the list of films because he got his backstory in Eclipse. Likewise Rosalie wasn’t available to vote on because her story had already been told. Those two were never in the running because the logic was that they already got official movie backstory. I’m willing to bet huge money he would have been on the top 10 if he had been an option to vote for. And I know at least a couple Jasper fans voted for Alice and the Alice films in hopes of seeing Jasper. And just from observing as a Twilight fan–yes, Jasper’s hugely popular. I don’t know how many times I see posts here on Tumblr that are basically ‘Jasper is the only good character,” “I only cared about Jasper and Alice to be honest,” “Jasper’s the only good thing about Twilight,” “I hate Twilight but i love Jasper.” And for a minor character in the films, he got a lot of merch. He got an action figure (most of the other Cullens never did). He got a Barbie doll way before Esme, Carlisle, Emmett and Rosalie did. He got a Tonner doll (Carlisle, Esme, Emmett, Rosalie never did), he was featured on a ALA Read poster. He got t-shirts and bookmarks and magnets and all sorts of stuff. 

There’s tons of Jasper fanfic, either Jasper/Alice, Jasper/Bella, or Jasper/whoever. 

Stories with Jasper listed as a major character: 14,100Stories with Emmett as a major character: 6,300Stories with Carlisle as a major character: 4,900Team Jasper is huge. He might not be as beloved as Alice, but he’s probably the third most popular male character after Edward and Jacob.
