Opening times for Twitter Art Exhibit 17 this weekend and until it closes on 19th April.
TAE17 is Open!
The opening night of TAE17 Took place last Saturday, 1 April 2017 at the Artshouse in Stratford upon Avon. With over 300 people attending, some visiting from as far away as Boston, New York and Florida, the room was packed with people keen to see the art and buy cards in support of Molly Olly's Wishes! The evening was a great success and raised £8300 for the charity. Since then the sale has been open every day in Stratford upon Avon and sales to date are standing at nearly £10,000! If you would like to visit the exhibition the address is 14 Rother Street, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 6LU. Original postcard art is on sale at £30 each or four for £400 and all the proceeds go to the charity. It was announced at the opening evening by TAE founder David Sandum, that the next Twitter Art Exhibit will be held in Australia!
TWITTER ART EXHIBIT (TAE) is being held in the UK for the first time! Next year it will be somewhere else in the world supporting another worthwhile charity. The Opening Night of TAE17 in Startford upon Avon is a great opportunity to buy some amazing art from our TAE17 artists from all around the world and, at the same time, to support the charity Molly Olly's Wishes who help support children with terminal and seroius illness and their families. This year TAE has had it's biggest uptake since the event started 6 years ago with 1300 artists registered from 62 countries! Artist David Sandum will be attending the event from Norway and will be giving a presentation about how and why TAE was set up and about the charities it has helped over the years and what the future holds for TAE. You are invited to the OPENING NIGHT on the 1 April 2017 in Stratford upon Avon and we hope that you will invite others you know who could enjoy the event. Please come along to purchase the cards and help us raise funds for Molly Olly's Wishes. (Cost of cards - £30 each of 4 for £100). ALL the proceeds from the sale of the cards goes direct to the charity. There will be an AUCTION of a wonderful original etching by Norman Ackroyd RA and a sketch by Sir Ian McKellan on the night. FREE entry. Light refreshments available. Disabables access and facilities. The TAE17 Exhibition will run 2-19 April 2017 at The ArtsHouse, 14 Rother Street, Stratford upon Avon. 10:00-4:00. We are over the moon here at #TAE17 to have received an original etching from UK artist Norman Ackroyd RA for the charity sale on 1 April 2017 in Stratford upon Avon. Our sincere thanks to him for so happily sending us his art to help @mollyollyswishes support children with terminal or serious illnesses. The card will be up for auction on the opening night so bring your cash that night please and let's raise a load of money to make more wishes come true!
Cards are arriving fast ready for the charity postcard up for sale on 1 April 2017 in Stratford-upon-Avon! So far we have received nearly 400 cards so that leaves a huge amount still to arrive! To date we are just 24 artists short of 1500 artists registered to send a postcard to support Molly Olly's Wishes which is amazing and a new TAE record! Registration shuts down on 24th February. If you are thinking of sending a card, then please register soon. The deadline to get a card to us here in the UK is the 17th March. A big thank you to everyone who has supported TAE17 this year!
Register here for free if you are coming to the TAE17 opening night charity postcard sale in support of Molly Olly's Wishes.
We need your postcards soon for the Twitter Art Exhibit UK! We are hoping this year to break the TAE record and get 1000 cards displayed on the wall in Stratford upon Avon (1-19 April).
The charity being supported this year is Molly Olly’s Wishes who do brilliant work for children with terminal or serious illness by making their ‘wishes’ come true, being there as a support for their families and giving away therapeutic toys and books that help the children understand the treatment they are receiving.
If you have registered to donate a piece of art, please, please get it in the post as soon as you can! If you would still like to take part, there is still time. Deadline to get your work to us, here in the UK, is 17 March 2017.
This is the date that we need to have your postcards with us ready for the opening night of the TAE17 UK charity sale in aid of children with terminal or serious illness via Molly Olly's Wishes. Please remember to leave enough time to post your cards to us!
Cards are coming in fast for TAE17! We now have coming up to 1100 artists registered from 55 countries and have had our first artist join us from South Africa. The deadline to get a card to us in the UK is 17th March 2017. If you send in as soon as possible it really helps us keep on top of scanning and cataloging all the cards and will hopefully avoid a huge pile of cards arriving a week before the sale! Thanks as always for all your generosity and enthusiasm for Twitter Art Exhibit and the help you will be giving children via Molly Ollys Wishes.
We have had the first 55 postcards arrive in the UK from all around the world. It would be amazing if this pile could reach 1000 cards by April 2017. To date we have had 990 artists registered to send in an original postcard, so should easily reach 1000 very soon! If you have signed up to send in a card for TAE17 to help the children supported by Molly Olly's Wishes , thank you. We suggest that you post off your cards sooner than later. It helps keep us calm here at TAE Towers, as they trickle in at a manageable rate and it guarantees that the card will be in the sale and not stuck in the post as the deadline approaches! (*whispering.... It also means your artwork stands a good chance of being used in our promotional printing if we have it early on! Sh! .... That's just between you and me!) Seriously, if you can send your postcard ASAP, it really helps the process and means that we stand a great chance of getting 1000 cards displayed, on the wall for the opening night on April 1 2017!

TAE17 - Postcards are already arriving in the UK
We have had the most amazing response to the Call for Artists that went out in mid September. In just under three weeks, we have had over 800 artists from nearly 50 countries register to take part in next April's charity sale, in Stratford upon Avon in support of Molly Olly's Wishes! All the funds raised from the sale of the donated cards will go to the charity for them to use to help children with life threatening or terminal illnesses. Our thanks to all the artists that have taken part in the past and have already signed up to join us again in 2017 to support another worthwhile charity.
TAE16 New York update:
We are being asked what has happened to the unsold cards from the last exhibition in New York.
Foster Pride is using the unsold artwork with other programs as ‘popup’ items. For example; the money raised through TAE16 was for the Handmade Program, where the teenagers place their items for sale on Etsy. The buyer of an item will now receive a piece of artwork as a gift and as an incentive to buy the beautiful items the youngsters create.
Good is still being done with the postcards that were received for the TAE16 sale! Thank you all for your support!

TAE16 NYC is now over....
TAE16 in New York has been an amazing event with over 1000 postcards sent in from 35 countries around the world. The support and enthusiasm from the faithful band of TAE artists has been phenomenal this year. Thanks to all!
The exhibition was held at Trygve Lie Gallery on E 52nd Street in New York and the opening night was a great success raising close to $7000 on that night alone.
As we close down the exhibition and collate all the information we will update social media with info about sales and money raised for the supported charity Foster Pride NYC. Any unsold cards are now donated to Foster Pride and they will use them for charity events to raise money.
As TAE16 is now drawing to a close, the TAE team are already organizing TAE17 to be held in the UK in Stratford upon Avon in Warwickshire in the spring. The charity being supported by TAE next year will be Molly Olly’s Wishes, a charity which works in the West Midlands predominately, but also nationally across the UK, helping children with serious illness and their families with financial and emotional support. The charity produces a children’s book and a soft toy lion called Olly the Brave with a removable mane to help children cope with the medical interventions they are experiencing.
The team of TAE16 and the curator Isha Setia, would like to thank all those involved with event in any way and hope that we will see you all again next year!
