Guys like I wrote a post analysing Sophie's character in Stellarlune but yk how disorganize my thoughts can be so I decided to steal Stira's anti-keefe rant formula and back it up with quotes, but then it ended up being an anti-Sophie rant and idk what to do now. Like Sophie is such a heavily misunderstood character (in my experience) with seeing a lota ppl acting like she has no flaws. (Idk about ppl, sorry if I'm misunderstanding y'all, i just haven't seen many good Soph takes) But I rlly like Soph, I've never found a character I project more on than her, and I'm a Sophlover. So K really don't wanna start a Sophie hate train, especially as nowadays shez getting a bit more of hate. So advice?

I also love sophie, and I think you can criticize her without hating. Maybe try pointing out ways her flaws and mistakes are ignored by the narrative and how that prevents her from growing as a character?

A little hc of mine Is that since the elves are so beautiful genetically, they seem REALLY uncanny to humans. The only reason why Sophie didnt identify that uncanniness (apart from the beauty) is because it didn't seem off to her. (As she looks familiar to them aswell)

Thinking about Sophie (again), but this time about how much of a privilaged character she is.

Sophie is the definition of a privileged character. Shez a white, upper-middle class, pretty “slender blonde”. 👱🏻‍♀️ There are multiple oppressed groups in the Lost Cities, and Sophie isn’t even included in one of them (Exillium Waywards only temporarily and we can safely ignore the bad match situation). It’s not a bad thing, but it really colors her viewpoint of the world in another way.

there is no way the elves have saved every species that has ever existed from extinction. there have been 5 mass extinction events on this planet. 99% of all species that have ever lived on earth are now extinct. the elves have not saved all of them

and while yes that percentage is factoring in plants as well as animals, there is still no way this is possible. do you know how many bugs there are? because more than 350,000 species of beetles exist. over 1 million species of insects have been discovered as of now, and it is estimated that there may be as many as 10 million species of insects on earth

Shannon you cannot seriously expect me to believe that the elves, with their notoriously small population size, have saved more than a million species let alone all of them
