Reading Alpha/Beta/Omega fanfics gives me such whiplash. You either get a: "UWU, I'm a cute, tiny, defenceless Omega who needs my big bad Alpha to protect me and fuck me into oblivion!" fic where it's just mindless smut 9 times out of ten, OR "I'm an omega being forced to be mated to a famous and powerful Alpha who is already bitching another Alpha and having to become the perfect, untouchable leader of the omegas in my pack to both them and the outside world even though everything on the inside is crumbling." that has a staggering amount of world building with different pack dynamics and religions and an actually interesting story line with stakes and isn't just the omega character getting fucked every different way under the sun. (That second fic was also an x reader MHA fanfic believe it or not)

I can see why Chai and C.ai are so appealing but I'd rather bask in the glow of finding the fic with the exact scenario I wanted instead of using robo slop.

They'll never understand it.

Something that kind of sucks is that as a kid I couldn't focus on reading books very well. I could read them just fine but I couldn't get myself properly focused and invested in reading them.

One day after a reading test my primary school teacher graded me at a teenager reading level and everyone thought that was really cool so I sat in the library pretending to read books when I was really just looking at the pictures and letters. Then my teacher noticed and told my parents at one of those parent teacher conferences who, in turn, started to buy me books.

It's been 8 years and they still buy me books that I don't read unless there's an audio book available. (Same way I read fanfics, thank you to whoever invented Reading Mode on the Chromebook)
