my Pride month mood is that I love being gay. 

Coming to accept such an integral part of myself has taught me how to accept the rest of myself. Learning to love my lesbianism is learning how to love myself and how to love others in a healthy way. 

Being gay has taught me that love is not scary or sad or tragic– it is full and warm and safe. Love doesn’t hurt, it’s not something that happens to you- it’s something you build and live in. Love isn’t “I guess this is what life is” it’s “I get to take part in the creation of my life.” Love isn’t resignation, it’s exploration.
