whats your thoughts on the take that old man is a seperate guy compared to gerson?
not in like a "hes secretly not gerson at all" but like, that ol philosophy thing with teleportation, where if your body is destroyed and recreated is it the same you?
id argue it goes even further than that though, with old man not even being a fully accurate translation, only being patterned off the knights memories, who surely only knew a fraction of him. if say, alvin opened a fountain with the remains, that dark worlds "old man" would likely be cold and/or distant, what with his absence later in his life.
i also think its a good way to bring back the whole interpretations thing, gerson inspired old man, and old man inspired sound of justice (due to susie only knowing old man and not gerson and also recently learning hes Dead:tm:) like how the prophecy inspired loth inspired dragon blazers

No, that makes sense enough. Based on how Ralsei described Gerson, it does seem like he was less just...a person resurrected, and more a person created from a specific perspective in the same way other Darkners are. He's clearly not just a Darkner, though...he can recruit enemies on his own, for one.
Honestly I get the feeling that the mechanics about what he is (at least in comparison to Lightners and Darkners) are going to remain a bit vague. It's more about the role he plays in the story as a mentor than what kind of categories he might slot into.
That said, I do really hope we can see him again elsewhere!
