My son gave me a card that said, "You are the best mom ever" so I asked him if he collected empirical evidence to back up that claim. He admitted to doing no research at all; therefore it's purely anecdotal and cannot be trusted. I have hung this sentimental atrocity on my office wall.
does anyone else remember being a hapless american child looking at the prices of books on the inside flap and wondering. do we just hate canadians? this book is $8 here and $13 there, that feels..... mean somehow
hey man sorry im late. yeah i gave a mouse a cookie. you know how it is

The upside to the adhd forgetting that you made yourself a drink thing is thinking to yourself “man I could go for a drink right now” and looking to your right and seeing a drink has appeared there. Thank you, past me. I lost you somewhere but you have still provided.

I have been trying for several days to make a post about how, while I love the 2017 DuckTales reboot, having explored some related media I've come to the conclusion that they downplayed quite a lot of Scrooge's negative and weird personality traits, and yeah yeah yeah I understand that in today's media landscape it's very difficult to have a character who objectively sucks in a lot of ways and never really grows out of them or gets better because the ways in which he sucks are a cornerstone of who he is as a person.
The post never materializes though, because I always come back to a certain sticking point, which is that the show tries really, really hard to convince me that stealing cocktail weenies at a party is, like, weird, and I'm like, okay. Except everyone does that. That is so normal. Yeah, if you're a trillionaire doing it to save money, that's kinda funny. And of course it's over-exaggerated, because it's a cartoon, but like, the thing itself? One of the most normal things he does in the whole show. It's almost too normal.
But the thing is, the scene seems so completely and unwaveringly committed to the core joke being that this is weird behavior that I have started to wonder if I'm having a pelican-fucking moment. Does everyone do that? Or am I the weird one here? Now I realize I'm asking Tumblr to judge the weirdness of my behavior here but I'm a little bit afraid of having this conversation in real life now. Yes I'm aware you can buy cocktail weenies from the grocery store and they're not that expensive but they taste better if you steal them okay. To be clear the level of stealing I'm talking about is I bring ziplock baggies but never more than 2 because there are other people there who also want cocktail weenies, I'm not an animal, and because I know someone's going to ask no I do not have plastic lined pockets that I fill with dip, that's the cartoonish exaggeration I was talking about.
Is it normal to steal cocktail weenies at parties?
Yes
No

The tribes of Tumblr appeared to worship Apollo as their primary patron deity, most often under the epithet Apollo Sphairahemon ("Apollo the Ball-Thrower") as a god of prophecy and sport. His name was typically invoked to celebrate a user blessed with uncommon prescience. Moments of prophecy were considered highly sacred and were often recorded, and such texts are sometimes accompanied by an artistic depiction of the god — either his traditional masculine image or, unusually, in the form of a young woman, which appears to have been an earlier style before a conservative shift toward more conventional iconography — preparing to cast a round rubber ball that our scholars believe was used in the sport known as "dodge ball". Much as other cults regarded his arrows as bringers of disease and health, this community believed that being struck by this ball would bestow prophetic visions.
Some icons are reproduced below:
An earlier depiction (c. 2020) of Apollo as a girl clad in a simple tunic and playing with other children. Figures are smiling and the image is brightly colored, indicating a celebratory outlook toward knowledge of the future.
A later piece (c. 2022) that resembles the traditional appearance of Apollo. References to childhood and play are omitted, and the god carries a more frightening aspect; perhaps this icon represented grim omens rather than good tidings.
