I don't care if I reveal the company's name, this needs to be heard

** Excuse the formatting, I’m on mobile and I’m so pissed I couldn’t wait to post this. Also it’s long. Sorry.

I’ve posted here before, I work at the mouse theme park, but I don’t care about keeping it secret now, this is unacceptable and I need everyone to know what I’m talking about.

Little back story, I’ve been working for the Walt Disney Company for 3 years and my best friend has worked there for about 5 years. He’s been my best friend since 6th grade and is one of the most kind and genuine people I’ve ever known. He even let me use his personnel number as a reference when I applied for the job. We work in different areas. He’s in Disneyland and I’m in Disney’s California Adventure.

Now for those of you who do not know, Disney has a point system. We get 36 points a year to use and honestly, it’s hard to not go over every once in a while. Basically 3 strikes in a year and you’re out. Calling out sick is 3 points and you can be gone for 6 days without getting more than 3 points as long as you have a doctor’s note if you’re gone longer. Calling out personal/dependant is 3 points but you can’t call out multiple days. A tardy is 1.5 points. Sometimes, it’s easier just to call out sick and take a few extra days off. But for some who depends on that paycheck, it’s not an option.

Ok if you’re still reading this, buckle up kids because this ride is filled with a whole lot of bullshit. So my friend was sexually harassed and assaulted by a fellow cast member. His lead. They are both male and even though my friend is LGBT, it doesn’t mean that the advance was wanted. So like most victims, my friend was very traumatized. My friend is also very smart. He did the right thing, even though it was probably painful and very triggering (I honestly cannot imagine how hard it was for him), and reported it to his managers and HR. The lead was force transferred to a different area and stripped of his lead status. Not fired…Just transferred… FOR ASSAULTING SOMEONE!!!!

Fast forward a little after the incident and my friend is still understandably shaken up from the events. He had a lot of anxiety and suffered multiple panic attacks. Unfortunately, these panic attacks happened before his shifts. They made him late. Now, you’ll recall me mentioning that you get 1.5 points for being late and honestly shit happens and keeping points under control is really hard. My friend couldn’t just call out because he and his family depend on his income. The managers, WHO WERE AWARE OF THE SITUATION, suspended him.

Well guess what? He had his meeting today to discuss his suspension. Wana know the result? Well, because of all the points from being late due to panic attacks, as a result of being fucking assaulted, the company terminated his employment.

Fucked up right? The guy who assaulted him gets to continue working for the company and the victim gets terminated.

My friend COULD come back and work for the company in 6 months, but as a new hire. So he loses ALL of his seniority.

Despite everything, my poor friend is scared to take this issue to court because Disney is such a powerful company and he’s convinced he wouldn’t win the case.

So please please please… I know I don’t have a lot of followers other than porn bots and even if my blog offends you or whatever, I NEED y'all to reblog this and make it known what my friend is going through. Disney is starting to become so corrupt that their cast members are of little concern now. So please boost this. I want everyone to know what is happening.

I know you’re wondering about my employment, well I don’t even want to work for the company anymore. I’ve been on medical leave for my own mental health and honestly, I don’t want to go back. I don’t want to work for a company who could treat their cast members like this, let alone victims of an assault.

So again, please share this with everyone you know. Share it with your followers, cast members, friends, family, strangers, anyone you can think of. Please my best friend deserves some justice for this shit.

My mom said that today in church her pastor said in the sermon that Jesus told us to help the poor, and taking money away from public schools to give to charter schools only widens the gap between the rich and the poor. She then added that Jesus spoke against adultery and lust and would not have approved of bragging about sexually assaulting women. According to my mom, people got up and walked out.

The pastor also started the sermon by noting that she’d heard of another minister who read the entirety of the Sermon on the Mount at the pulpit, to be told by the so-called Christian parishioners after the service that it was offensive and they didn’t agree.

The Sermon on the Mount is straight up the words of Jesus.

My mom’s church talks almost every Sunday about how Christians are called to welcome strangers and foreigners and does tons of stuff to help refugees because HELLO, IT’S RIGHT THERE. IN THE RED TEXT, NO LESS.

I don’t believe everything they believe, but I REALLY like those people.

What a lot of these people are is idolators.

Not in terms of the realness or unrealness of who they worship, but in terms of how they’ve warped their focus away from the reality and turned it towards a fantasy of their own construction.

By definition, an idol is an image with no god behind it.

What they have done is taken the idea of Jesus and created a false image of him, nothing like the reality, to carry around in their back pocket, or to wave around on signs, and pull out and shove in people’s faces to justify all manner of unChristlike behavior.

It is a “worship” that is fundamentally self-centered rather than deity-centered, wherein the deity in question is more of a pocketbook get-out-of-jail-free card than directive to live by, and more of a status symbol than a guiding light.

That people will, without a shred of self-awareness, rest themselves assured that Jesus would want them to tip their waitress with a Jesus pamphlet made to look like folded-up money (to take only one example out of many) is the ultimate dismissal of everything the original stood for.

There is a line in the Bible about Jesus meeting his false worshipers and saying “I do not know you.” It seems like plenty of so-called Christians have beaten him to the punch with how quick they are to say they don’t know him.

A lot of churches and organizations in America that call themselves Christian churches are in fact Christianist cults. They no more represent Christianity than Daesh represents Islam. In addition to the usual nonsense of so-called Christians being pro-war, anti-immigrant, racist, and so forth, there are a lot of sects/movements that are just completely toxic and not Christian at all, even though they use that label. If you are Christian and want to have some fucking nightmares, google “christian dominionist,” or “prosperity gospel.”

My dad attended private Lutheran schools for elementary and middle school and was literally harrassed by teachers because he was "darker skinned" (Native American, and half or less not full Native). They treated him terribly because he was "different." His brother, my uncle, was white and completely German heritage and was treated like everyone else. Even was head of the football team in later years. (Both were adopted so weren't related). This was in the 80s. My dad was completely turned off from religion and became Satanic. Started doing things that got him kicked out of school and ended up in juvenile detention school. It is ridiculous that people consider themselves "one with God" just because they go to church and in reality are some of the shittiest people you will ever meet. I know plenty of people like this just off the top of my head.

I once had a line of two customers when I was a cashier, and the first one was paying in dimes and quarters. Not a huge order, just $2.15.

Queue the second customer. She walks up and asks aggressively “Are you new here?”

I reply, taken aback “No ma'am. I’ve been here for about two years.”

“I thought you would have been faster by now,” she snaps back.

Well, I was already having an off-day, so I decided to get a little petty. She slides her card, and immediately I hit ‘Cancel’ on my register. She tries again. I hit 'Cancel’ again. Slide. Cancel. Slide. Cancel.

By the fifth time, she’s turning her card over in her hand and asking “What the HELL is wrong with my card??”

I reach over, taking it from her hand and ask “Have you had this card a long time, ma'am?”

“Yeah, why?”

I slide the card through without any problem (obviously), and hand it back politely. “I thought you would have known how to slide it by now.”

Her face sunk, probably realizing but probably not. She left, and I proceeded to tell my manager out of guilt in case the woman complained, and my manager high-fives me but then tells me to NEVER do that again.
