Jezel nodded his head a little at her line of questioning, low hanging lights and doorways were… Certainly more of a problem in his daily life then someone who was normal height, but seeing as he had been tall since practically childhood, it was a little easier to remember to duck when heading into rooms and to dodge lights. He more or less just let her talk as he wasn’t quite sure how to respond yet, and her being so… Gorgeous left him almost speechless anyways. And that laugh, almost too much.
What didn’t help was her calling him ‘babe’ and ‘hun’, before well… ‘So please take care of me’, making his face turn entirely red as he laughed nervously, shoving his hands into his pockets and beginning to tap his foot. This was crazy, he hadn’t expected this to ever happen.
“Oh, well, it’s certainly a pleasure to meet you, Maiya. Flight Attendant is quite an interesting talent as well, I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone with that talent before. And uh.. I-I’ll do my best to take care of you, I suppose.”
He paused, knowing that he probably shouldn’t have already garnered feelings for someone that he just met, but he couldn’t help it. Jezel could feel the butterflies in his stomach, though he was going to try and ignore it. But that smile though.. Holy shit.
“To answer your question, I’m not quite a master at pong, no but.. When I say retro, I just mean old games in general. I guess stuff before the 2000′s, I’d have to say. Though I’m not bad at newer games either though.”
Maiya was actually pretty perceptive- She definitely noticed his cheeks start to turn pink and his body start to jitter nervously. It was pretty cute, honestly! To think that such a big guy would get embarrassed like this was adorable- And, she wasn’t even laying it on that thick! Not yet, at least...
“Thanks! It’s, like, so reassuring to know I’ve already got a friend here.”
She smiled again, genuinely relieved that Jezel was being so nice to her. To be honest, Maiya had been a little worried about coming to this school. What would she had done if no one liked her? Her parents had been so proud of her, she couldn’t just leave if things were bad... But, it didn’t look like she had to worry about that right now!
“That’s way super cool! I used to like playing video games when I was little, I even remember owning the N64 for a little while. I haven’t played a video game in years, though...”
Video games were super fun! Well, from what little experience she had, at least. She couldn’t even remember the last time she’d played one. Her job kept her way too busy, and in the little free time she got she usually did other things. But, now that she was living at the school, she’d have much more time to try new stuff! Maiya glanced away from Jezel, grinning shyly.
“Um, do you think maybe we could, like, play a game together sometime? I’m not too great at them, so I’m fully prepared to lose, hehe.”
