Summary: You and Eddie both like each other but haven’t moved out of the friendzone yet. After a day at the beach with The Hellfire Club you both need to cool down. Mostly fluff with some slightly smutty undertones, 18+ to be safe! Minors DNI!!!
Takes place after the events of Season 4 but an AU where Eddie gets the ending he deserves. I also included Will in the Hellfire Club because I would like to think the Byers decided to move back to Hawkins at the end of the season.

It was hot. Like, stupid hot. You didn’t quite understand why the boys thought it was a good idea to move Hellfire to the beach on the hottest day of the summer, but you weren’t going to pass up an opportunity to see Eddie Munson shirtless either. It wouldn’t be the first time he had taken his top off in front of you, the last time being when Mike had jumped up from the table during a campaign last week, sending his bottle of coca cola flying through the air and onto the front of Eddie’s white Hellfire Club shirt. You watched in quiet admiration as the rest of the club broke out into laughter at your, now sticky, DM stripping his shirt off and whirling it above his head before flinging it into Mike’s face. It was those kinds of antics that drew you into The Hellfire Club, that and Eddie of course.
The two of you met at the beginning of the school year when you had just transferred in for senior year. You were a year behind in classes from moving so much and having someone else around who was closer to your age made you feel less like an outsider. The two of you were often paired up for assignments and it wasn’t long before your friendship began to develop. People definitely noticed you together and talked, but Eddie was used to it and told you just to shrug it off. Slowly but surely your interests seeped together, you were listening to Megadeth, and he was listening to Madonna. You came to Corroded Coffin practices, and he hung out during your shifts at the drive-in movie theatre. You spent most afternoons together except the ones when he had Hellfire, so naturally he asked you to join.
The guys were apprehensive to let another girl in at first, but Erica insisted that you could only make the game play more interesting, and it wasn’t long before you were fully invested in the campaigns, screaming and cheering along with the rest of the club. Eddie would always smile when he looked up from behind his DM screen to see you biting your lip nervously and strategizing with the rest of the team. Everyone in the club really liked having you around, especially Erica. Despite the 9-year age gap, the two of you had hit it off quite nicely, she was like a little sister to you, and you looked out for each other.
“PrincessTenderheart!” Erica called, pulling you back to reality. “You in there?”
You looked around the picnic table you were sat at to see nine sets of eyes fixed on you, including Eddie’s.
“It’s your turn.” Dustin whisper yelled across the table.
“Oh shit, sorry! I must have zoned out for a minute there.” You blushed, brushing the hair away from your face.
“Yeah, a minute. Or ten.” Lucas interjected, earning a shove from Will.
“It’s alright, Y/N, it’s hotter than hell out here.” Jeff wiped the sweat from his brow as he smiled at you kindly. “I’m zoning out too.”
“Yeah, I think we should call it quits for today and just swim or something.” Gareth mumbled, knowing that Eddie would protest.
“Call it QUITS?! But we’ve only just started!” Eddie wailed dramatically.
“We can take it back to my place?” Mike suggested. “My parents won’t be back until late tonight.”
Eddie shook his head with his hands on his hips. “I guess that’ll work.” He sighed. His eyes shifted to you, fanning yourself with your folded up character sheet. “Y/N are you working tonight?” Eddie asked nonchalantly but you knew he was well aware of your work schedule, downplaying how much he actually paid attention.
“Nope, I’ve got the night off.” You smiled.
“Perfect!” Dustin interjected. “Now that’s all figured out, I’m getting in the water before I pass out.”
“Me too.” You sighed, wiping the sweat from your forehead as you stood up.
“You’re gonna’ swim?” Eddie questioned, an amused smile playing on his lips.
“Yeah, why not?” You placed a hand on each hip, staring him down.
“I just figured you’d be scared of the ocean; you know with all the sharks and the seaweed.” Eddie lunged toward you with a long strand of slimy kelp, causing a loud snort to bubble up from inside you.
“First of all, I don’t think there are even sharks in this area.” You snatched the kelp from Eddie’s hand and twisted it between your own. “Second, I’m not afraid of a little bit of seaweed, and that’s rich coming from you, scaredy pants.” You laughed, tossing the kelp to the side so you could unbutton your shorts.
Eddie threw a hand over his heart and scoffed, but his eyes flickered to the fingers working at your button. “Me? Scaredy pants? Who was the one hiding under the blanket during Nightmare on Elm Street?”
“Um, that would be you.” Lucas interjected, throwing his shirt on the table where the rest of the club had discarded theirs before taking off toward the water. You were so busy bantering with Eddie that you didn’t notice them leave. This happened a lot.
“Can it Sinclair!” Eddie called after him.
You laughed, “See, I’m not the only one who knows you’re a scaredy cat!”
Eddie opened his mouth to reply but he stopped cold when you peeled off your shorts revealing the red bikini bottoms that lay beneath.
“What’s wrong? Are they inside out or something?” You looked down to make sure you had put them on correctly and looked back up to see a blushing Eddie turning away.
“N-nah they’re fine.” He looked back at you, and his breath hitched in his throat as his eyes scanned your slightly oversized hellfire shirt hanging over what may as well be bright red underwear. Red. His favourite colour. He couldn’t count the number of times he had imagined you staying the night at his trailer with nothing to wear to bed but his shirt and your underwear and seeing that fantasy brought to life right before his eyes was almost too much for him.
“Eddie?” You reached out and pinched his elbow.
“Ow! What?” He grumbled, rubbing the now sore spot.
“I said, are you going to swim?”
Eddie nodded “Yeah alright, I’ll swim.”
You weren’t overly religious, but in that moment, you thanked God for the opportunity to see Eddie shirtless again, after all that was the appeal of going to the beach in the first place.
You smirked. “Last one there owes the other a strip tease!” You joked, taking off for the shoreline.
Eddie gasped theatrically and quickly caught up to you. “You’re on!”
“I was kidding!” You called after him, but it was too late. You had never seen Eddie run that fast, ever.
Eddie stood at the edge of the water, peeling off his ripped jeans and reaching a hand to the collar of his shirt to pull it off. You didn’t realize that you and Erica were the only ones who thought to bring swimsuits as the boys just wore their shorts or underwear. Now that you took a moment to scan the group, all of them were in shorts, except for Eddie. You weren’t surprised that he opted to wear jeans to the beach, but it only hit you then that this meant he would be wading out into the ocean in his boxers. Your face felt hot, and not from the relentless sunshine beating down on you. Despite just being friends, the image of Eddie in only his underwear had crossed your mind more than once and then there he was, standing before you in nothing but a pair of black boxers. Your eyes trailed down his bare chest to his smooth abdomen and you swore you could see the slightest trail of hair peeking up from his waistband. You were quickly brought back to reality by Eddie throwing his shirt down into the sand with his pants before turning to you with a smirk.
“Now, where’s my reward.” He teased, pulling you toward him by your wrists, an evil glint in his eyes.
“Eddie, I was joking.” You laughed, shaking your head and gently tugging your hands away.
“Oh no, you aren’t getting away with it that easy Sweetheart.” He warned.
Your heart fluttered. “I’m not undressing out here in front of everyone in slow motion like it’s a damn strip club.” You snorted. “Besides, it’s just my shirt, no big deal.”
It was a big deal to Eddie, so big in fact that he couldn’t keep his eyes off your hands as they tugged the material of your hellfire shirt over your head, revealing your matching bikini top. He tried his hardest not to settle his eyes on your chest, but he couldn’t help it. He was going to blame it on the swimsuit, it was making him crazy which is exactly what Robin said would happen when she forced you to buy it the last time you went shopping together.
“I don’t know, it’s kind of slutty, isn’t it?” You wondered, studying your reflection in the dressing room mirror at Victoria’s Secret.
“Y/N it’s a bikini, it’s meant to be slutty. Besides, you look like Phoebe Cates from Fast Times, you have to get it.” Robin pleaded.
“You’re sure it isn’t too slutty?” You were apprehensive.
“Just slutty enough.” She winked.
But now as you stood in front of Eddie, whose eyes were bugging out of his head, you feared that your swimsuit was in fact too slutty. “What is it? Does it look bad?” You chewed your lip nervously as he studied you carefully.
Eddie didn’t know how to react. Should he make some sarcastic comment like he normally would disguise his true feelings? Or should he tell you the truth- that you were the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. He didn’t just feel that way as you stood before him half naked, skin glistening with sweat but any time he laid eyes on you. Every morning when he picked you up for school and you were sporting a new outfit and a smile especially for him, during Hellfire Club when you would tie the bottom of your t-shirt and tuck it into your jeans, after you’d fallen asleep against his shoulder during movie night only to wake up and blink at him with sleepy eyes…he loved every single moment and would never truly get over how gorgeous you were. The right words never seemed to come though, and he always ended up saying something dumb or downplaying it when the truth was, he wanted to shout it from the rooftops. He wanted everyone, including you, to know how much he absolutely adored you, but he was so scared that you wouldn’t feel the same. Why would you? He was just some nerdy twenty-year-old high school senior, and you were…well, you.
Okay Eddie, you got this. Just tell her she looks amazing. He mentally prepared himself, opening his mouth to speak when once again he was interrupted.
A loud wolf whistle came from the boys in the water, and your head snapped in their direction. You couldn’t tell who it was, but you quickly weighed out the possibilities. Not Will, he was too polite and you two barely knew each other. Dustin was too sweet; Mike was too in love with Eleven. Lucas and Erica were always trying to mess with you so it very well could have been one of them, but your money was on Jeff or Gareth simply because they loved to tease you. After all, you were closer to them than any of the younger guys in the club and if anyone knew you had feelings for Eddie it would be them. They had caught you watching him during band practice too many times to be convinced otherwise.
You shook your head, trying to act like you weren’t blushing like crazy over the attention. The whistle had caused the rest of the boys to turn around to see what the commotion was about, and their eyes went to you immediately before studying Eddie’s face which was bright red.
Lucas locked eyes with Eddie before a mischievous grin landed on his lips.
Eddie knew what was coming and he warned Lucas with his eyes. Don’t you fucking dare. Lucas did it anyway.
“Wow Y/N, I really like your swimsuit.” He smiled, looking over to Dustin who seemed to clue into what he was doing. Eddie’s jaw tightened.
Dustin cleared his throat awkwardly. “y-yeah Y/N, have you, uh, been working out? Or something?” He asked, looking away.
“Okay nerds, you’re going to make me lose my lunch.” Erica warned.
Your cheeks became hot, and you suddenly felt naked, on display for everyone to see.
“Where’d ya get it? Victoria’s Secret? I bet you shop there a lot.” Gareth sneered at Eddie’s balled fists. Your face burned hotter with every comment.
“It’s a really nice, colour?” Mike added, but it sounded like a question.
“Red.” Will said with a nod.
You started to clue in that they were just messing around when the comments became very forced and you crossed your arms over your chest, giving them all a pointed look.
“Are you done?” You raised an eyebrow.
“That depends…” Jeff began. “You wanna play beach volleyball? Or maybe we can all play spin the bottle.” He was trying so hard not to lose his composure. He could feel Eddie’s eyes burning a hole into his head.
“Okay, that’s enough.” Eddie finally snapped, charging toward you with a crazed look in his eyes.
“What are you-“ You were cut off by Eddie wrapping his arms around your waist and hoisting you up over his shoulder before stalking off into the water.
“Eddie!” You squealed. “What are you doing?!”
Your mind ran wild as you were carried into the ocean, Eddie’s hands clasped firmly around your thighs to steady you. His hands were hot and sweaty against your skin, and his soft curls brushed against your side. So many times, you had dreamt of those same hands holding yours or caressing your cheeks or other parts of your body. A shiver wracked through you, and he must have felt it because he stopped abruptly and let you down. Your feet landed softly into the sand, and you looked to Eddie who was treading onward with his head down.
Shit shit shit. He cursed himself internally at his sudden outburst. He had been working so hard at keeping his feelings a secret for months, and all his efforts were wasted in that instant. He hated the guys for pushing him to it, but he knew that otherwise he would never have the balls to confess his feelings for you. Since the day he met you, he was infatuated with your smile and the way your nose crinkled when you laughed. He admired your kindness and how open minded you were and slowly but surely fell in love with you. The thought that he had scared you or made you uncomfortable just then plagued his mind and made him hang his head in shame.
“Eddie, what’s going on?” You called after him, jogging lightly to catch up. Your brows furrowed in worry when you saw the look on his face. “Stop for a second.” You pleaded, grabbing him by the wrist.
Eddie immediately paused and looked up at you, electrified by your sudden touch.
You drew yourself closer to your best friend, almost chest to chest. You moved your hand from his wrist to the small of his back, wrapping your arms around his waist. His breathing became shallow and quick as you looked up at him from under you lashes. The two of you had hugged before, but it never felt like that. Something felt more intimate. Maybe it was because you were both basically in your underwear, or maybe it was something more than that.
“Tell me anyways.” You coaxed, reaching up to brush a strand of hair from Eddie’s face.
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, the feeling of your soft hand touching his cheek was overwhelming.
“I just…” he began, clearing his throat nervously. “I know that they were only being idiots, but I just couldn’t listen to it anymore.” He looked into your bright y/e/c eyes as you listened intently.
Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion. “Listen to what?”
God damnit. You were making it even harder for him than he imagined.
“All that stuff they were saying about you and your, y’know…” Eddie nodded down toward your outfit and his eyes rested on your breasts as they heaved up and down ever so slightly with your breathing. You followed his gaze and blushed immediately when you realized what he was staring at.
“Oh.” You had the instinct to pull your hand away from where it rested on Eddie’s back to cover yourself up, but some invisible force was keeping you pressed tight to him.
“Well, it was nothing.” You insisted. “They were just trying to get a rise out of me.”
Eddie scoffed. “No, they were trying to get a rise out of me.” His heart was pounding so hard he thought it was going to break his ribs.
You looked back at him in confusion. “Wait, what? What do you mean?” It didn’t make sense to you that the guys would be teasing you in order to get to Eddie. For something like that to bother Eddie it would mean that he would have to care for you a lot. You wouldn’t even let yourself consider this to be true.
Eddie shifted his weight awkwardly. “I mean that I don’t want anyone else to look at you like that, or even think of you like that. I want you to belong to me.”
Your eyes never left Eddie’s face as he confessed, and your hands tightened on his back as a giggle burst through your lips. He had to be joking.
Eddie looked hurt. “What’s so funny?”
“Now you’re messing with me.” You laughed, pulling Eddie close and standing on your tip toes so your faces were inches apart.
“There’s no way that someone so talented and funny and heartbreakingly handsome would be into little old me.” Your heart was pounding in your ears. “You, Eddie Munson.”
Eddie placed a hand on your cheek, his rings kissing your skin, and looked into your eyes again, this time with the love and adoration he wasn’t scared to show anymore.
“Handsome, huh?” He smirked.
You blushed, laughing nervously. “Now don’t let that go to your head Munson.” You warned.
“Too late.” He smiled. “Y/N L/N thinks I’m handsome.”
“And talented and funny!” You added. “Don’t forget those.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah.” He muttered lazily; his eyes fixed on your lips.
“Can I tell you a secret?” You whispered, leaning in ever so slightly.
“I do belong to you, Eddie. I’ve belonged to you for a long time.” You could barely breathe, so scared of what was going to happen next.
Eddie had never been so turned on in his life, or so in love. Hearing those words from your lips was something straight out of a dream and he couldn’t control what he did next, all he could think about was how badly he needed to kiss you, to feel closer to you.
Without so much as a pause, Eddie’s lips came crashing down on yours. You jolted in surprise at first, but quickly leaned into the kiss, sliding your hand up his spine to rest in his hair. A shiver clamored through his body at your touch, and it only made his hold on you tighter. His kisses were deliberate and needy, but gentle at first as he took in your taste and the feeling of your baby soft lips against his. You pulled away for air after a minute and took in the sight before you. Eddie had a crazy lust filled look in his eyes as he wiped the corner of his lips with his thumb, they were slightly swollen from the kiss and looked even more irresistible. You initiated the kiss this time, pulling him toward you by his hair, earning a deep groan.
This kiss was different, more intense than the first. Your lips fought for power and eventually you let him win, parting your lips slightly so his tongue could explore your mouth. He sighed, tracing your teeth with his tongue and feeling every new surface. Meanwhile his hands were constantly moving, desperate to touch every inch of your body. The hand that was on your waist moved down to your ass, giving it a tight squeeze. You squealed in surprise and nipped at his lip causing him to growl. “Fuck, I could get used to this.” He hissed.
“What?” You questioned innocently between kisses. “This?” You bit Eddie’s lip again, this time trapping it between your teeth and tugging slightly. His body was on fire beneath you, and he was putty in your hands. He was already losing control just after a few kisses, you had a hold on him he had never experienced before. You wrapped your arms around his neck and smiled mischievously. “Catch me.” You commanded, jumping up to wrap your legs around his waist.
He grimaced. “Somebody’s bossy.”
You laughed, tightening your grip on his neck. “I’m sorry, I promise I’ll do whatever you want from here on out.” You kissed Eddie sweetly, but he stiffened at your words. “Oh princess, you have no idea what you’ve just done.” He pulled you in again, but this time he went straight for your neck, kissing and sucking at the tender flesh there. You arched your back, pushing yourself toward him in desperation, you needed him so badly to keep going. Heat rushed between your legs as he left love bites along your collar bone, something for the boys to laugh at later, you were sure. It was getting so hot, the sun beating down on the two of you as you lost yourselves in each other, and you were starting to feel dizzy.
“Eddie?” You called out as he worked his way down your collar bone. Oh god you didn’t want him to stop but you were afraid you would pass out.
“Mhmm?” He replied, slowly getting closer and closer to your breast.
“C-can you put me down? I think I’m gonna pass out.” You stutter, the heat rushing over you.
Eddie pulled away to look at your face, and the moment he saw how out of it you looked he was placing you on the sand and kneeling down beside you.
“Are you okay?” Worry rushed to his beautiful features, and you couldn’t help by smile at him.
“Just a little hot is all.” You replied meekly, resting your head against his shoulder.
“More like hot as hell.” He smirked, gaining a snort from you.
“Down tiger.” You laughed.
“Seriously though, are you gonna be okay? Do you wanna head back?”
The thought of cutting off your moment killed you, after all you had been waiting months for this, but you knew that you needed to cool down. “Yeah, I think so. I just need to take a cold shower and I’ll feel better.” He smiled with relief and proceeded to pick you up.
“Eddie!” You giggled. “You don’t have to carry me.”
He smiled back at you, holding you bridal style. “No, but I want to. Anything for my princess.” Your heart skipped a beat at your new pet name and you smiled into his neck.
You buried your head in his chest as he carried you back to the shore, taking in his scent as you lay flush against him. It wasn’t long before you were back to where the boys were hanging out, and you were almost glad you had your head buried so they couldn’t see the blush in your cheeks.
“Look who finally decided to join us.” Mike hollered, gaining the rest of the boys’ attention.
“And what were you two love birds up to?” Lucas teased.
“You losers know exactly what we were up to.” Eddie laughed. “I could see you watching us from all the way down there.”
“Yeah, and it was disgusting.” Erica pretended to vomit, but you could hear from her voice how pleased she was that it finally happened for you two.
“Seriously, we never thought you were gonna stop.” Dustin laughed and Eddie nudged him playfully. You took the opportunity to jump down from his arms, ignoring his protests as you stood on your own.
“I’ll be right back.” You promised, pecking his lips quickly before heading toward the outdoor shower.
It wasn’t a far walk from the picnic tables, and once you were there you were grateful for the icy cold water ricocheting off your body. The stalls were outdoors, but private, and made for a perfect spot to rinse off with your suit on. You couldn’t help but think about everything that had just happened between you and Eddie, everything you had been fantasizing about for so long that had just become a reality. You thought about his mouth, and the kisses that slowly made their way down your body, and where the kisses would have gone if you hadn’t have stopped him. You let your hands caress your breasts, throwing your head back in pleasure as you imagined they were Eddie’s hands. You had thought about it many times before but this time it was different because it felt real, in reach. You let your mind run wild as you groped yourself in the shower, thinking about all the things you would do to him when you were alone with Eddie again. You didn’t think about it for long before a gasp pulled you from your thoughts. Your eyes opened to see Eddie watching you with a smirk and a slight blush to his dimpled cheeks.
“Looks like you’re feeling better.” He couldn’t help but grin madly at the thought that he was the cause of your private shower party.
“Much.” You gushed, smoothing your hair with your hands.
Eddie studied you for a moment as the water cascaded down your perfect frame and pooled at your feet. His boxers tightened at the sight of your pert nipples pressing up against the fabric of your bikini top and your sopping wet hair dripping down your body. “Mind if I join you?” It was a simple question, but it came out huskily, as if he were moments away from begging.
You smiled, reaching out to grasp Eddie’s hands and pull him closer. “Be my guest.”
You pulled him toward you but stopped when the water hit him, and he shuddered violently.
“Jesus H Christ! The water is freezing.”
“S-sorry!” You stuttered, spinning around to adjust the temperature. “Is that better?”
Eddie admired the view as you bent down in front of him to turn the shower dial and planted his hands firmly on your hips. “Perfect.” He mumbled; eyes fixed on your lower half. You stood up, but he stopped you before you could spin back around.
“Wait.” He ordered, pressing himself against your back and moving your hair to one side of your neck.
“Is this okay?” He murmured, and you nodded. Slowly, he began trailing kisses down your neck again but this time they were chaste little pecks.
“Yes princess?” You could hear him grinning.
“More.” You pleaded, grinding your ass against his groin impatiently.
“Out here where we could easily get caught red handed? Are you sure?” His voice was thick with amusement as he kissed your shoulder chastely. You already knew what you had to do to set him off.
“I don’t care if we get caught, I want everyone to know that you’re mine.”
That was all Eddie needed to hear. He spun you around, so you were face to face again before kissing you passionately. You buried your hands in his hair and pressed yourself flush against him, prepared to give him absolutely anything he desired when an irritated “AHEM” came from just outside the stall. You clung to Eddie in surprise and looked over nervously.
“Really Henderson?” Eddie growled. “Can it wait?” He rolled his eyes at Dustin who was outside the stall, waiting awkwardly.
“U-uh sorry to interrupt you guys but it’s gonna get dark soon and you know how Will’s mom gets.” He explained, fiddling with the strap on his hat.
Eddie groaned and pulled away from you reluctantly. it killed him to pause things with you for the second time that day, but he knew Dustin had a point, and if there was anyone he didn’t want to mess with, it was Joyce Byers.
“It’s okay.” You smiled, cupping a hand to Eddie’s cheek. “We still have the whole night ahead of us.”
Dustin shook his head with a laugh. “We’re gonna regret pushing you two together, aren’t we?”
Eddie smirked. “Oh, I can guarantee it.”
