sheen cackled as he rounded a corner as fast as the battery in his child sized jeep could push, which wasn’t very fast at all, but he was determined to beat riley in the race. “eat my dust!” he called out, turning his wheel back and forth causing his toy to serpentine as he rode atop it. @emotionalriley

Beaming as the shirt was offered to them, Riley quickly slid it on and then began to make work of taking of their jeans as well. “I would say you could have one of my hockey jerseys since they’re bigger, but they aren’t really the most comfortable material. Oh! I could get something of Bing Bong’s or Angelo’s if you really do want a shirt,” they offer, wanting to seem like a good host for this sleepover. With their pants finally off, they kick them to side and tilt a head as Sheen tells the story of his dreams. “Well, that won’t happen tonight. I’ll protect you or pay off any debts you rack up. I’ve got my hockey sticks - I bet I could take on a mobster or two.”
“nah, i’m cool. i mean, if you’re cool.” sheen almost always slept without a shirt, but if it made them uncomfortable, he’d happily put on whatever. he followed their lead and pulled his own pants off, leaving him in just boxers and socks as he beamed at them. “i’ll be sure to wake you up if any mobsters appear in my dreams. or any forwards.” he laughed as he unzipped his bag, and pulled out the stack of comics he’d brought with him. he held them up towards riley as he announced “alright, now it’s bedtime!”

It was far earlier than either of them ever actually go to sleep and Joy wasn’t even in the room yet, but Riley didn’t care. As soon as Sheen had arrived at the house, they’d declared it was time to get to bed. Video games and anything else could all be done in the morning - they were far too excited at the concept of having a sleepover at their house with Sheen to not want to get right to the comic book reading and cuddling part they knew came along with going to bed. “I want your t-shirt,” they decide as they strip off their own shirt they’d been wearing. It was fine enough, one of Riley’s go to night shirts, but it didn’t look nearly as soft as Sheen’s. “We could swap if you still want one for sleeping.” @ultrsheenlord·
Sheen hadn’t argued when Riley declared it was time for bed as soon as he’d walked through the door. Bedtime, was after all, his favorite time of a sleepover and he’d spent the previous night putting together a carefully curated selection of comics for them and he was excited to see which ones they liked. When they asked for his shirt, he didin’t hesitate, grateful that he’d changed out of his work shirt after his shift. Pulling the fabric over his head, he laughed, handing it over to them with a goofy grin plastered across his face. “nah, i’m cool. If i wear shirts that are too tight to sleep I usually have dreams about being crushed. Like by bears, or pythons, or once it was a car compactor. I was in deep with the mob and I had no way out. My debts finally caught up to me.” He mused sadly, as if talking about a previous night and not just a dream he barely remembered.

Paz had never heard of any Blue Beetle before, probably because her only comic book knowledge started and ended with Marvel. Whoever this was, she had no idea. “If you say so, you nerd. Though, I doubt any superhero in comics is very cool. I mean, this guy is a beetle, how cool can he be?”
“He’s not actually a beetle.” Sheen corrected. He wasn’t very smart, but when it came to comics he was as knowledgeable as they come, whether people wanted to hear it or not. “He’s actually got an alien tech that is called a scarab fused to his spine. It’s the scarab that gives him all his powers and tech. It also communicates him. At least in Jaime Reyes is case, which is who I am. Ted Kord had a whole other thing going on, but Jaime took on the name.”

Flicking out his cape and strike a pose of his own, Fred holds it for a few seconds before bouncing on his feet a few times. “Dude! We can find you beetles! Like - real beetles if you want.”
“Like beetles beetles? Cause I’m not sure I can telepathically communicate with those. I can totally use my powers to fling them at people though. That’d be pretty hilarious actually.”
danny scrunches up his nose as he looks through the goodie bag he got after getting on the hayride. the complimentary candy was a nice touch but he could do without a lot of the candy selections. “who the fuck made candy corn a halloween staple?” he asks, picking all the orange and yellow triangle candies out as if it were the most offensive thing he’d seen in years. “it’s the hawkman of candy. unnecessary and ugly to look at.” he looks over at sheen, hoping that he at least agrees. @ultrsheenlord

“you wanna trade? i’m all about the candy corn.” sheen had yet to find a candy he didn’t enjoy. sure some more than others, but they all had their good qualities. in his opinion, people just thought way too card about it instead of just putting the sugar in their mouths. “hawkman is a total boner on the jsa, but i like me some hawkgirl.”

Spotting a blue superhero ahead, Riley only knows who it is because they saw the costume before the event. They’re very thankful for that because otherwise between his full body outfit and their own pig costume neither one of them would have recognized the other. Which would have been a shame as far as their concerned, to not get to spend time together. “Hello dear… blue guy,” they greet in their deep and inaccurate British accent, fully forgetting the name of the superhero Sheen’s dressed as. “Funny finding you here today.” @ultrsheenlord·
Sheen forgot for a moment why a pig would be talking to him, and stared in confusion until he remembered it was Riley inside. He let out a laugh at the accent and really the entire look. “How’s it going, Grandpa Pig? What can Blue Beetle do for you this evening?” He had every intention of finding Riley at some point in the night, he’d hate to go through a whole event without spending time with them, but found he liked it more that they’d found him first.

“What am I looking at right now?” Paz asked, eyes wide before narrowing as she tried to place the costume that she saw in front of her. “Knowing you, a comic book character of some kind.” She didn’t think there was another option available for Sheen or at least from what she’d heard about the guy.
“You’d be correct!” Sheen confirmed proudly. “A superhero in fact. Blue Beetle, a.k.a. jaime reyes. He’s actually very cool.” He explains, though he’s not sure Pacifica Northwest actually cared about anything comic or superhero related, but people had layers! Anything was possible!

“As is yours, Blue Beetle,” Fred answers, deepening his voice to mimic that of The Bat. “My Robins are out there somewhere - grown and on their own. Solving their own mysteries and defeating crime across the festival.”
“Truly doing the Bat name proud.” Sheen nodded, puffing out his chest with his hands on his hips, striking his very best superhero pose. “Maybe someday I’ll raise some little beetles of my own.
“Dude! Your costume is,” Sheen couldn’t even find the words, so used the appropriate chef’s kiss. “And you got the whole justice league things going on. A true Batman move.” @firebreathinfred

“I see we just let any trash in here now.” Sheen stated, his tone and expression judgmental as he stared down the guy in the Robo-Fiend shirt over the top of the new Ultra Lord comic he was reading. He always paid for his comics up front, but hardly ever had the patience to make it out of the store without reading them first. @invisoviolet

“this is so fucking awesome!!” he shouts again, flailing around for a moment more before jumping up back to his feet and grabbing sheen’s arm. giving it a good shake, fred starts to tug him toward the door - all new comic books completely forgotten at this point. who needs fictional superheroes when there was a real life actual power dude right in front of him!! “okay. we need the real stuff now. none of this is gonna cut it. come on. to fredzilla headquarters!”
sheen’s own excitement is only fueled by fred’s and he’s more than willing to be tugged out the door of the store. “hold up, headquaters?” sheen’s eyes widened and jaw dropped momentarily at the realization of this new discovery. “dude. dude. are you a superhero, too?” he practically squealed in delight.
