do you guys remember when it came out that there was targeted sexual abuse & forced labor of transmasc & other queer perceived-female people at an ICE facility, and like it was very specifically "transmascs getting both sexually harassed, told to wear makeup, actively assaulted to make them act more feminine, while also being forced to do grueling manual labor & being directly told this was a result of them "wanting to be a man""? do you remember when that came out and then it was crickets from the community it feels like.

you know what you are right. im sorry. it wasn't crickets, it was one post that got a little traction & people in the notes were actively preemptively saying anyone who suggests this could perhaps be an example of transmasc oppression should die.

erasure is an action (to quote @. tags on this post!) and its something everyone internalizes by virtue of being part of an anti-transmasculine society. but because of the backlash to transandrophobia theory (which tries to describe this), tumblr users now have developed an even more intense internalized erasure, where their first thought when it comes to transmascs being targeted is not, "oh shit, transmascs are vulnerable!" it is "fuck, we NEED to make sure the transandrobros can't use this!"

also since a number of people in the notes have mentioned not having heard of this at all, here's an article and a link to the complaint filed. here's a quote too:

Feminine men get treated like shit by just about everyone.

Are they hairy/fat/bald? Then they get called creepy, gross, and ugly.

Are they thin/hairless/conventionally attractive? Then they're fetishizing feminity, they infantlize themselves to appeal to pedophiles, they're mocking trans women.

Regardless of how they look, they get treated like perverts who only enjoy presenting femininely because it's a kink to them. It's considered inappropriate for a man to wear a dress to a formal event, but just find if a woman wears a suit (which, obviously, it should be).

It's openly encouraged by a lot of seemingly progressive people to mock those who find feminine men attractive, or men who want to present stereotypically feminine. "Twink death is coming, get on estrogen or you'll turn ugly" (and then the ones who do get on estrogen/hormone therapy but still identify as men get called all sorts of awful shit). "Guys who say they're bi but are only into femboys/androgynous men 🙄". "Transboys when testorone turns them into bears and not uwu anime softboys". "Feminine gay men x masc gay men ships are hetronormative". "I hate when people draw/write (male character) as a bottom/sub, he's not a pathetic twink he's a grown man".

Regarding that last one, thers is an alarming amount of queer people who, for some reason, firmly believe that twink/feminine/bottom/sub are all interchangeable. As well as believing thar any man who isn't masculine looking enough in their bodily appearance isn't really a man, or atleast a man thar could exist in real life. Like, if you aren't large, hairy, and rugged, you can't be a guy. Skinny young men with little body hair aren't real, dummy! Especially ones that chose to dress femininely, that only exists as a kink. /s

And god fucking forbid a trans man who doesn't pass be comfortable presenting in any way that isn't hypermasc. If you even LOOK at a skirt for too long, you're clearly just a woman. If you aren't comfortable with every effect of testorone? Woman./s

Stop treating feminine men like woman lite, even if you think they're effeminate twinks or whatever demographic you've decided it's ok to mock.
