I know the fainting is a reference to fainting ladies from a certain place/period but i’ll take it, given she’s in a modern setting.

Also, in reference to the photo’ed clip in particular): she gets energy from doing what she loves, even to the point that her friends expect it to tire her. Personally, I find this relatable partly as a fibromyalgia thing. I’m often worried people will say I’m lying about being tired because I still do things I like, but fibromyalgia is very stress related, so /sometimes/ putting in a lot of work is more energizing than resting against my will. Not consistently though. Dynamic disability.

Seeing discussion about Abby lately has got me thinking about op MAURICE again. It seems like every other Sector V member except Abby has gotten a good amount of scenes showcasing they're children at the end of the day. Nigel is prone to shortsighted judgements, Hoagie has childish interests and can get lost in his own world (detective episodes, his cowboy deal in that one episode), and I don't need to elaborate on Kuki and Wally. Sure, Abby has that whole "candy" shtick, which is comparable to what Hoagie has going on, but her candy adventure episodes always felt sorta insincere to me. Like, they needed to do something with Abby and implemented this idea with her, even though it really doesn't communicate much about her character that we already didn't know. Sure, she's hunting for fucking candy, but they never use that opportunity to explore the more childish aspects of this child character.

Ok, NOW I'll get into op MAURICE. This is like the only episode where we see Abby behave childishly and MAN. This shit breaks my heart like actually.

There's something so saddening about how her lament being so aimless. She can't put into words what she feels so all she can muster (for the most part) is "I give up." He's been handed a situation that has no solution (the inevitability of aging) and he loses his cool. It suggests that her biggest weakness is unfamiliarity and futility, and when she is given that, she regresses. He loses hope. He loses his bravery.

It's not even just her saying "I give up", that fear harkens to something deeply childish. Children are placed into a world largely unfamiliar to them. Everyday, they must pick up new schema to respond to the countless patterns found in our world. Of course, this often lends itself to the feeling of curiosity, but the pattern Abby's picking up on here is one that's interfering with her sense of fairness. Why be good when you'll just grow up to be cruel?

It's honestly a very relatable fear. I've feared losing my radical edge as I age for a long time. Abby's fear also parallels how black girls are often adultified. Although it is more specifically about goodness not objectification, it certainly still alludes to wanting to feel like a kid and to respect childhood. This moment really only lasts for a minute and it does so much for Abby's character and strikes a deep chord. There is so much you can say about this trait, and it could've enriched her character so much if they showcased it more. What does the perfect child do when they falter?

I took my little brother (autistic, mostly non verbal) out and he was using his voice keyboard to tell me something, and this little boy (maybe 4 or 5?) heard him and asked me "Is he a robot??" I tried to explain to him that no, he isn't a robot, he just communicates differently, but my darling brother was in the background max volume "I am robot I am robot I am robot I am robot"

My little brother insisted if I was going to post about him, he wanted a cut of the "profits". When I explained to him that Tumblr isn't monetized, and is pretty pointless, he and my older brother pointed out that he'd still be bringing me "fame and notoriety" if the post got "big". So we agreed, if the post hit 10k notes, which seemed extremely farfetched and silly at the time, I'd take my little brother out for sushi (his favorite food) and let him eat as much as he wants.

tbf i think zooble should have been genderfluid with changing pronouns, since their arc had to do with being okay with having changing parts or something like that

i'll keep using they/them for them probably, since there is a lack of they/them characters in media (although maybe not since there is an even bigger lack of characters who are genderfluid with changing pronouns... i'll let my headmates decide for themselves probably)
