While everyone is busy enjoying Oblivion remaster, I've been playing Morrowind again-this time with OpenMW 'Expanded Vanilla' mod list. This is my Breton Telvanni Nerevarine Barry and her companion Felthorn(mod).

love that I can recruit him on early stage of the game (balance & nerfing mods make beginning stage game quite difficult, so having a reliable companion helped a lot). The quest line encourages you to explore various dungeons across the land more.

While drawing this, I was staggered by how detailed his final form model is. Full of intricate patterns and layers. I know nothing about making mods but it made me wonder about the amounts of effort that went into creating these.

Dunno why, but I keep refer to Felthorn as 'him' or 'it'. Strange considering it spent most of playtime in a humanoid female form (winged twilight, golden saint, final form). As he's a spirit weapon, I'm sure he won't mind.

Barry without helm. Ambitious power hungry murder hobo. Other than having anti-slavery stance (she thinks slavery is inefficient in long term. condones slavery in house telvanni tho.) and being an archmage of Vvardenfell (reputation is nice), I think she's quite a Telvanni through and through.

It's my first time playing as Telvanni in Morrowind (Casimar didn't joined great houses, Opens-every-chest was Redoran) and I'm absolutely enjoying it. Tamriel Rebuilt with Uvirith's Legacy and Rise of House Telvanni turned Morrowind into Telvanni simulator.

OpenMW is amazing. Automatic installing the mod list is really convenient (honestly tho, I couldn't understand how to manually install and customize mods in openMW ). If anyone wants to play Morrowind in 2025, OpenMW is the real answer. 10/10 recommend.

Started as heavy armor user, then abandoned armors after being able to cast(craft) few nice elemental shield spells. Spell effectiveness yeah. Wrist irons. Seems a bit mad but great reminder of your progress. Also enchantable. Nice.

Done main quests first, then proceeded with other DLC/faction/minor quests. Was wearing daedric cuiress and boots + Umbra helm, gauntlets, and greaves by the end of the main quest. Oblivion daedric armor is absolute pain in the ass to draw. Bladeturn hood and spellturn cloak are much better. Good looking too.

My VTMB player characters and their end game stats

Melee Gangrel Anarch. She was my first playthrough and it was hard. Didn't knew much about the game. For Gangrel, just brawl is waaaaay better than melee.

Had to dance a lot to maintain humanity. With her 'I will get the job done, but in my way (brute force)' kind of attitude, was inefficient as hell in doing quests and gained few experience points. But it was great game experience without spoilers.

Ranged Malkavian Personal path. Enjoyed this run the most. Malkavian conversation options and NPC reactions were so refreshing. Decent persuasion/haggle +Obfuscate(easy sneaking quests) +dealing good damage with guns + insightful conversations --> Easy & fun game

Thaumaturgy (aided with guns) Tremere Camarilla. Easiest run overall.

Turned out even with Unofficial patch plus, Thaumaturgy is quite strong. Spamming Blood strikes usually gets the job done. With experiences of previous runs and the power of VTMB wiki combined, he did every quests optimally. Also tried a bit of seduction options.

+ also did Clan quest mod run as Gangrel Anarch again but this time, efficiently. Did every quests in experience maximizing way for the 'perfect brawl build'.

Stats with Bloodbuff 3+Protean 5+ Fortitude 5+Animalism 5(Free the Beast Within) on. OP as hell. Claws damage potential up to 54 and practically bulletproof. Entering the Society of Leopold church was the hardest part throughout the game (enemies with grenade?) then it just got easier and easier.

Also got Celerity by conversation with Beckett with maxed out disciplines. Literally ripped end-game bosses with bare hands.

Was hard to maintain humanity d/t mod added quests. I think this stat suits her character better anyways.

Been playing VTMB repeatedly. What a cursed masterpiece of a game.

Great dialogue, surprisingly well done NPC facial expression and voice acting. Felt like playing something between fallout New Vegas (role-playing wise) and half life 2(mostly d/t source engine). 10/10 recommend. shame it was such a buggy mess when it came out.
