Don’t touch people’s stim toys or comfort objects without permission. They can be incredibly important to neurodivergent people and taking them away or even just touching them can make people uncomfortable or panicky.
If you do want to try a stim toy or touch a comfort object, ask politely, be prepared for the answer to be no, and most importantly accept a non-verbal no. People might be uncomfortable saying yes but not feel like they’re allowed to say no. And if they do say yes, give the item back as soon as the person who has let you try it indicates in any way (verbally or otherwise) that they want you to stop touching it.

I had someone tell me that dislike of Umbridge is usually from ingrained sexism toward female villains. I kind of stared in shock — I mean I love my lady villains. I love nasty female villains. I love sneaky and clever female villains. I love female villains that wrap themselves up in what the patriarchy expects of them and uses those expectations to smash someone upside the head.
I tried to explain my hatred of Umbridge isn’t that she’s full of traditionally feminine attributes.
It’s that she’s lawful evil.
If you did an alignment chart, no one would represent lawful evil more than Umbridge. I don’t think there’s ever been a character that better sums up lawful evil.
And, to me, lawful evil is the most terrifying and disturbing evil there is.
To me, lawful evil is the shit that gets thousands of people killed while the person responsible walks away feeling like they did their duty.
Evil forces like Bellatrix and Voldemort are fairy tales. They’re the bad guys a good guy can chase away with a sword or wand.
Umbridge is that evil that really does lurk in the hearts of men (and women). The realness, the plausibility of it, makes her amazingly uncomfortable.
So, yeah, I can’t get as excited about her as a fantasy book creation as easily as some other female villains. Not because she’s a woman, or because of her gender presentation, but because she represents a sort of evil that’s far, far too close to home.
Voldemort is stereotypically scary, but he’s a very unreal kind of scary. Umbridge is different. Everyone’s had an umbridge.

I’ve explained this to other people: the reason I hate Umbridge more than Voldemort is because he is set up as a monstrous, inhuman, devil-type figure, and I fully expect a devil to be a devil. There is no surprise at a devil’s depravity, because that is its nature. How can I really be all that angry with a scorpion for stinging?
A human, though, is another matter. And Umbridge is a very human character. That is what makes her repulsive and hateful. Evil humans will always be more hateful than the monsters, because humans can choose.
I’m gonna guess that they aren’t normally allowed to sit on the furniture.

Apparently vultures are protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, so there is nothing ICE can do about this except politely try to shoo the birds away.
If I were the kind of person who looked for a higher being acting in mysterious ways, I might think that the fact that this tower is being overtaken by birds protected by the MIGRATORY bird act treaty might be a sign.
