Special commission by the London Police featuring the recently departed David Bowie standing amongst and Newcastle iconic backdrop.
This piece has been generously donated by Vanessa Foley to raise money in the fight again Alzheimer's. Over £500 raised.
"The drawing is titled ‘Quipu’ referring to the knotted string the owl is holding. Quipus were used by ancient civilisations as a method of record keeping, memory aid and a way to communicate important information. I used this element in the drawing along with the owl (traditionally viewed as wise) to convey the idea that no matter who we are, there may come a time when we need help and that that help should be given in a way that dignifies the person and enhances their life, much as these Quipus were treasured decorative objects and treasured by the civilisations that relied upon them."
The piece is graphite on 100% cotton fabriano artistico paper.
Signed and dated by Vanessa Foley.

MSA (@MusicSlashArt on Twitter) laser engraved my designs on tables for their new Bar & Late Rooms. The bar looks extremely cool and I think the tables look great. I must check MSA out next time I’m up North. Details at http://musicslashart.com/home
