I never would have predicted that DC would have so much significance for me: graduate school, first half marathon, and now my visa to stay in France. It's been a long 3 weeks after being told I would have to: wait 3 months (wrong), come back another day when the printer would arrive (never arrived), send my passport to DC (oops we meant GO to DC), and that my name wasn't on security's list at French Embassy in DC (as it had been promised with an apology for the inconvenience-they would have had to carry me outta there)...I am allowed back in France (thanks to one nice man today who gave me my visa immediately.) (Nevermind the miscommunication, misinformation, yelling, and straight up nastiness. Oh and $650 in total travel + shipping costs.) All because a printer had not been delivered to the french consulate in NYC. C'est la vie! #spousevisa #cantwaittocomplain (at Embassy of France, Washington DC)
