my favorite fire emblem glitch ever is that in fe4, if you dismount seliph (the only dismountable unit, funnily enough) and perform certain actions, he fucking disappears from the game entirely, rendering the game unbeatable

two different ways to do it, actually!

1. dismount seliph. there’s a chance that, on his next turn, he’ll remain greyed out. you can dance to give him an action, but the game will treat him as having already acted each turn. after completing the map, he just peaces out and doesn’t show up on the next one

2. apparently you can also move seliph out of your main castle, dismount him, and reenter the castle, and he straight up vanishes on the spot

like. not to keep talking about this. but this glitch is SO funny to me. you basically confuse the game into thinking the main character no longer exists. the ability to dismount was apparently included ENTIRELY for aesthetic reasons. seliph remains the only dismountable gen2 unit because there wasn’t enough space in the game to give anyone else the dismount option, and he’s also the only character where this glitch makes the game unbeatable. because the maps are so long in fe4, you could easily lose over an hour of progress because of this. dismounting gives almost NO benefits (really the only noticeable thing is increased movement in desert maps) so if you manage to trigger this you basically did it for nothing. i cannot wait for this game to be remade.
