“Can’t wait for Noah’s NDA to expire!” or “ Can’t wait for Finn’s NDA to expire” oh boy…I can’t wait for MILLIE’S NDA to expire that girl is MAD MAD
every clip of her talking about el is so weird to me i can tell she isnt saying what shes thinking....
like in old s4 interviews she talks about how el needs to stop centering her life around men but now she's "speaking" about how great her ending is despite her ending literally fridging her character for a man's development hhhhh
Ilya: this guy is cute, I should start a stationary bike race so he knows I want to get sweaty together
Ilya: that didn’t quite work. Maybe I should just give him the eye? While I tell him I hope he likes his new city?
Ilya: okay. But surely if I make him drink from my water bottle and brush his fingers when passing it over…?
Ilya: call him pretty. To his face. No way he can miss that
Ilya: desperate measures, I’ll have to tell him I orchestrated this whole ad campaign just so I could see him again
Ilya: WHAT IF I STARTED JERKING OFF IN THESE COMUNAL SHOWERS?
The fact that after the coming out scene everyone got up to hug Will and touch him was so important. I know a lot of people found the "and me" parts corny. But let's not forget that during the AIDS crisis in the 80s people were scared to even be standing near queer people.
And Jonathan even kissed Will's cheek with tears on it.
We shouldn't overlook how important and healing the touch part of that scene was.
Having a queer character believe he won't find love and proving him right is not good writing.
Having a character grow up in solitary confinement and then ripping her away from the only family she's ever known to live a life of solitude once again is not good writing.
Having a character be in love with his best friend and then just compare it to a high school crush is not good writing.
Having Eleven say that Mike has always been the person who truly understood her after showing us in the previous seasons that he only sees her as a superhero IS NOT GOOD WRITING.
Having two girls be abused by a man with power for the majority of their lives only to leave them dead and alone as a direct consequence of the trauma they suffered IS VILE WRITING
I feel like even though I'm rusty writing I could've written a better stranger things finale in my SLEEP. there were SO many things that were just... disappointing with that. How did everything go like... perfectly? You're telling me there's nothing left??? wtf 😭
go on mike wheeler.... give us nothing!! 🎉
I went back and rated it a 10 y'all. It's not too late to admit I was wrong.
Not sure why I can't tag @grandmags but ty for your insight.
This subfandom thinks of itself as Oh So Important and it's not only embarrassing but also downright harmful.
The reason ep7 has a 5.6 rating is not because you decided to review-bomb it based on a stupid, senseless conspiracy theory about how vol2 is actually really good and conveniently included all the plot points you wanted before it was censored last minute by the evil Netflix. It's because you decided to side with homophobes who are review-bombing it because they don't like that Will being gay is a big plot point for his character at all.
Episode 7 was mediocre, just like episode 6 was mediocre, and yet one of them has a 5.6 rating while the other one has an 8.5. If you genuinely think this is due to "objective criticism," you are wilfully deluding yourself.
This is what you're supporting with this vitriolic hate that is not earned. I don't like the scene, and I have many problems with the writing since season 3, but it is simply not as bad as you are painting it to be.
You are not proving a point about queerbaiting, the show is not even over, for fucks sake. You are, at most, showing to big companies that it's not worth to include queer representation in big shows. For a fandom who likes to talk so much about homophobia from other people and how if homophobes agree with your points than, maybe, they're not good ones, you clearly have a problem in recognition when it's you doing it.
THIS!!
THIS IS AN AMAZING WAY TO THINK OF CHRONIC PAIN
I wanted to point out that Nurse Hadley, the woman in this video, is a hospice nurse. This is what people say to and about patients who don't have long left to live. The fear of addiction and dependence on pain medication is so strong that people deny their literally dying family members proper pain management. You're never going to please the "but what about addiction" people, ignore them and take the meds you need to function.
