I was once a httyd3 defender but after now just seeing these comments from Dean and some very thought out criticism from here and youtube I got to say this sht isn’t worth defending anymore.

Toothless did not fight off his animal instinct when he was controlled by the Bewilderbeast in order to come back to Hiccup to suddenly “stray from his bond because of the call of the wild and instinct” wth did I just read Dean

It's interesting watching the LA film keeping in mind this was directed by post-THW!Dean. No wonder live action Toothless feels more soulless and less expressive. Like, sure they wanted to go for more realism in terms of his design but even his behaviour just feels very lifeless compared to og. It gives the general sense of Toothless not having much agency or that he's an intelligent creature capable of thinking for himself. And I think that's exactly the idea Dean has of Toothless after he made the 3rd film. Curse you Dean.

i think the end of httyd 3 was ass because their solution was to just hide the fucking dragons. but bad people exist regardless of dragons or not and we keep fighting bad people to this day, it's a never ending work but the effort you put into protecting what you love and the people and creatures that deserve to be treated with respect is what matters. instead the movie resorts to dragon/human segregation wtf.

not to mention toothless will probably live longer than hiccup, how's he going to feel when hiccup stops visiting? also how unfair it is that ONLY HICCUP gets to go visit his dragon when ALL OF BERK had pet dragons that they loved. httyd3 will remain the shittiest of them all. (except for the ost, the ost fucks)
