Trump is only two points ahead in Texas now. If youâre in Texas and vote third party or donât vote this year, I will personally never forgive you for stealing the joy of watching the GOP freak out at Texas going blue from me.
Fellow Texans: DO NOT WRITE IN BERNIE.Â
He literally does not want your vote, he literally wants you to vote for Hillary, and because of this he did not file to be an approved write-in candidate which means if you write him in your vote literally does not count.
For all voters in all states who were thinking of doing a Bernie write in.
Better yet: Should Clinton win and the democrats manage to win in the SenateâŚ..Bernie Sanders is poised to be the Budget Committee Chairman.
Hereâs the post, btw.Â
Bernie Sanders wants us to vote for Clinton, and support Democrats across the country. If this goes as planned, he will be able to accomplish SO MUCH.Â
So please, please do not write him in. Vote for Clinton, and support him in our Senate.
I hate that we are told woman naturally mature faster than men when in reality we just have to put up with so much as a child we are forced to grow up because weâre expected to be the bigger person, to submit, to endure, to forgive, to know better we have to act like an adult before weâve even finished our childhood thats why we mature faster there is nothing natural about that

A late night interpretation of Jesusâ thoughts about rich people by Sensitive Mark.Â
Not enough notes on this post.
But as a Sunday School graduate, I enjoyed this.
Also pretty sure âgive it awayâ does not mean âto your already spoiled childrenâ but $2 says at least one asshole will call for getting rid of the estate tax tonight.
@vviatrix
Last time I saw this post I was standing in the kitchen at work. I was laughing so hard I could hardly breathe, let alone find the reblog button.
This post 100% matches what I learned in theological school.
And this teaching pairs so beautifully with the story of The Widowâs Offering:
Luke 21:1-4 (NIV): 21 As Jesus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. 2 He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. 3 âTruly I tell you,â he said, âthis poor widow has put in more than all the others. 4 All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.â

THIS IS THE BEST THING IVE EVER SEEN AND NO ONE CAN CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE
Holy shit, He Who Shall Not Be Named WISHES he were upper class enough to compete amongst such caliber of twits. One should know when one is outclassed, but he would certainly resort to bellowing and blustering to try and win even this inglorious contest. I should think professional twits of this level would dispose of HWSNBN post haste.

I secretly think you are brilliant, amazing, and deserve all the best things
GAH! I publicly think this is an incredibly wonderful sentiment to send to someone, namely me, and it was such a surprise to log in and see it, completely out of the blue. Truly heartfelt thanks, Anon, because I need to hear things like this to counteract The Voice In My Head That Tells Me Otherwise. Blessings to you, sweet, sweet Anon. Clearly you are also brilliant, amazing, and deserving of all the best things!
Garnet is so important okay I need to rant about it for a second cuz okay most âmagical girlsâ or âsuper heroinesâ or what-have-you characters are almost always thin, light skinned, slender, âcuteâ, uber feminine, extremely sexualized, or even mean and cold.
Garnet gives little black girls, who have never had good representation reflecting themselves, a chance to see a hero that looks like them! it helps them to see themselves in powerful roles, in leadership roles, and in strong roles and helping others and being a hero.
She is dark skinned, tall, has large thighs, big hair, isnât at all sexualized, strong in her own right and her heart is so warm under all that stoic she wears in her attitude.
Garnet is amazing and Iâm so glad she exists, Iâm so glad she portrays a heroine with a darker skin and just breaks the mold and is as respected and respectable as any other super girl ever made. GOD BLESS THIS SHOW AND GOD BLESS GARNET.
#i think people should consider reblogging posts on black characters as well today #since they need to be represented in media WAY more #and garnet is such a positive influence #and estelle does such an amazing job with this role

Map of the new Community Improvement District in Columbia, Missouri Normally gerrymandering in a medium-sized town that ...
Normally gerrymandering in a medium-sized town that doesnât even pertain to city council elections would be too down-in-the-weeds, but this story from the Columbia Tribune is too funny to ignore. Self-interested business owners successfully petitioned the Columbia, Missouri, city council to create a local Community Improvement District, which would have the authority to impose a half-cent sales tax increase with voter approval. However, the district lines were drawn in a manner that attempted to avoid containing any eligible voters, meaning that property-owners themselves would get to decide on the sales tax increase as a way to avoid further property taxes to pay for improvements.
Unfortunately for them, things didnât exactly go according to plan. It soon became known that a single voter, University of Missouri student Jen Henderson, was registered to vote in the new CID. That means that she alone will get to decide whether or not to approve the sales tax increase. The CID has already gone into debt to finance planned improvements and was counting on the increased revenue from the sales tax increase.
Predictably, Henderson is not pleased with how manipulative this process has been. She was even asked to de-register so that the vote would revert to property owners. While Henderson hasnât publicly stated which way she plans to vote, she sounded skeptical of the proposed sales tax increase and rightfully pointed out how it is regressive in nature while the benefits accrue mainly to incumbent businesses.
In a delicious twist of irony, if Henderson votes against the sales tax increase or the vote is called off entirely, the only way for the CID to pay off its debts will be to levy further taxes onproperty, which is exactly what these businesses were trying to avoid. Most of the time gerrymandering is successful and unfair, but instances like this show it can sometimes backfire spectacularly.

Reblogging because yeah this is a pretty amazing story and because I am super skeptical of these Community Improvement Districts trying to game the system. I mean, overall this kind of local business association isnât necessarily a bad idea, as there are plenty of services (e.g. marketing, street lighting, landscaping) where it makes sense for the businesses to pool their resources - but this is some incredibly shady activity. Also, itâs kind of an interesting problem whether the property tax or the sales tax is a better deal for the city overall?
I mean, clearly, the businesses can jack up prices to pass additional taxes on to consumers either way - but the businesses might also change how they operate if you tax properties (an input) instead of sales (an output).
Like, if the two taxes are raising the same amount of revenue, not immediately apparent how businesses are going to react. You can think of a business like a restaurant as a machine that takes real estate, labour, and food ingredients as inputs and produces restaurant meals as outputs. Which tax is a better deal depends on how quickly a restaurant can substitute between more floor space and more labour - e.g. how much it can substitute between sit-down and takeout customers or how much it can increase the turnover by adding more staff.
If businesses can easily substitute to use smaller amounts of real estate more intensively, then a property tax might be good news since more people are getting hired and consumers are possibly benefiting from the additional density and not too many businesses are going to become unprofitable. Conversely, if businesses canât use real estate more intensively, you end up in a situation where a property tax means the businesses are hiring less employees and buyig less material and possibly going out of business.Â
Itâs not really clear to me which situation applies in real life. I guess it depends on the mix of businesses in this district. But insofar as the businesses will try to pass costs on to consumers regardless and may change the makeup of their services if property taxes get too higher, not clear that sales tax is necessarily better or worse than property tax. Totally support Henderson voting against the CID out of spite, obviously.
Hey I just wanted to drop in and point out that immediately north and south of this strip of businesses are the basically the poorest, brownest neighborhoods in Columbia MO. The business loop is where the north district folks go the grocery, convenience store, gas station, and so on. It is essentially where the poorest residents in Columbia do their daily business. The University of Missouri is just south of this map area but the students and wealthier residents of Columbia donât frequently shop for goods on the business loop. They go south, east or west, or stay downtown.
There was a short segment about this on The Rachel Maddow Show tonight (Fri, 8/28), with the ever-fabulous Dr Melissa Harris-Perry filling in as host. But it didnât mention this last part about the demographics of who utilizes the loop. Would have made for a much more informative report if it had.
Finally leaving the house like
It's usually at Trader Joe's!
I think you're stronger than you know, and that you are one of the kindest, hardest-working, most compassionate humans I've "met."
Oh holy crap, Anon... how I wish I knew who you are. This is one of the most heartfelt compliments Iâve ever received. My psychiatrist would certainly agree with you that Iâm âstronger than I know,â but, like you said, I canât wrap my head around it.Â
âHardest-workingâ is hard to accept, because I feel so exceptionally lazy, but kindness and compassion are two of the traits I value most in anyone, so I thank you immensely for those compliments. All blessings to you, Anon friend. Hereâs hoping we truly âmeetâ someday.
reblog if you want your followers to tell you one thing they secretly think about you.
I could use the input, + or -. Please, have at it. I just need some human connection tonight.
Not even gonna apologize for reblogging. I need to talk to people tonight, even if you think Iâm a whiny bitch. Bring it on!
