he's the moon, beautiful, comforting, and in orbit. he's circling another planet, his attention, his adoration had always been placed there. he was born to be for someone else.
you however, oh how you wished to be in orbit with him too. yet, you were only a star. a star who was frozen in space, bound to explode, bound to be beautiful or to be greedy. you were born for nobody, for nothing.
he's smiling at you as you both walk alongside each other, and you feel sick. you swallow your feelings, you swallow your greed and wallow in your own self-pity. you are a star, bound to explode. and he is the moon, in orbit with another planet, in accordance to the solar system.
you wish to be a planet, one that was admired just as much as the moon. one just as comforting, as beautiful as the moon. yet you were not, you were only just a star.
you're holding you hand out, helping him up off the ground. you feel guilty, watching the moon fall into despair and agony. a planet he once orbited now sucked into a black hole of unrequited love. he's wiping the tears off his face, you can only sigh, you shine you starry light, and he finds comfort in that.
wont be writing for a bit because my middle finger hurts whenever i bend it, i ended up taping it to my ring finger so i'll be out of commission till it feels better 💔💔

he's making sure you're comfortable no matter what, i can 100% firmly say that even if he was bleeding out, he's trying to make sure your back isn't obliterating you. the guy doesn't want you in any pain <3
whenever you feel insecure about it, he's telling you that you're still his hot and sexy lover and is going to love you even if you were just ash. if you think your body is an absolute turn off he will prove you otherwise.
he's researching ways to alleviate the pain, if you look at his recent search history i can say with absolute confidence that there's at least 10 things about relieving scoliosis pain.
TSUKISHIMA KEI (月島 蛍)
he's trying his best to make sure your comfortable, even if that means punching (but not too hard) at your spine. he'll give your back a quick massage if you need it, which is the most he'll do in public. in private he's letting you use him as a pillow if you need it, he loves it anyways.
if you think your spine makes you unattractive he's going to force you to stand in front of a mirror and he's going to shower you with compliments with his hands wrapped around your waist. he'll be a bit shy after though, give him a kiss and it's be alright HAHA
he learns how to alleviate your pain through what helps you most, it's all with what you find most effective. he'll obviously encourage you trying new things, but he also believes that going to things that are familiar is good for you in the long-run.
SYNOPSIS: what does it feel like to lose something you love so much?
GENRE: angst
AUTHORS NOTE: literally inspired by bonfire by w2e, i also went in depth to explore the song because i wanted to write some more angst. i did actually write an essay on this song for my band class HAHA also felt kinda iffy on this but i wanted to write someone with this song. also this is pretty short, but its also because i'm working on maybe posting headcanons tonight as a make up for yesterday LOLOL

sugawara knew that change was always happening, that even if he disliked change so much, it was something that would never stop happening. so when you entered his life like you were nothing and left the same way, he wasn't exactly sure how to go on about it.
he could vividly remember holding you in his arms, the way you were so warm and oh so comforting. yet, in the context of it all, in his heart his whole world was collapsing. he could practically see the branches of the trees snapping off, the sky red, and everything was disintegrating right in front of his face. it was poring wet, he was cold. and he tried to save you from fading out, he didn't want you to leave him. but you did. and that on its own was terrifying enough for him.
if someone were to ask him how he was feeling, he would say he felt cold, because the only part of him that was so essential to him, the only thing that offered him warmth, was quite literally stripped away from him. the world that he once saw as a paradise collapsed right in front of him and he was falling, he didn't know what he could do or should do. every time he tries to reach out for something while he continues to fall, it would immediately decay, and he couldn't help but wonder if it was all his own fault.
sugawara koushi was a wreck and everyone around him witnessed the destruction of his character. the intensity of all of the emotions he felt led him to eventually withdrawing from the volleyball team which in turn concerned everyone. someone who was once such an influential character had now been transformed into something akin to a wilted *lisianthus.
sugawara learned to accept falling. initially, he didn't notice the stars and the moon in the sky, twinkling and shining, reassuring that he would be alright. when he learned to accept falling, he also learned to accept losing you, and he slowly became his usual self once again. he learned that there will always be a beautiful night sky to look at even when he's falling, even if the many bonfires he lights and cares for fade out.
slipping by like sand (ONE-SHOT)

SYNOPSIS: his core belief is that everything is temporary, so when you change and reshape it, he could only end up getting attached.
GENRE: angst, but not too angsty (you die)
AUTHORS NOTE: i wanted to explore the idea of everything being temporary as a characters belief and immediately thought of kei.. i hurt my faves LOL also, i stole the first two-ish paragraphs off of a fic i wrote in like 2022 when i used to be into encanto. for so many reasons i'm not going to drop it (i'm embarrassed, which is the only reason).

crystalline silica, a common material that is found within the earth's crust, consisting of sand, dirt, concrete, and mortar. however, these in turn are also aspects of crystalline silica. all of which are ever so common, yet so small, small enough to pass through the never ending twists and turns of life and time. crystalline silica is able to withstand the erosion of natures course, however is somehow completely vulnerable to certain chemicals, ensuring its destruction. despite it being common, crystalline silica is known to be a hazard to everyone's health, being a cause of certain diseases and health issues when highly exposed to.
sometimes, tsukishima believes that he too is like sand. he flows through the fissures of time, akin to sand underneath the sea, flowing with the waves of the tide. he finds himself drowning and flowing through water, resting on the shore, sticking to people, falling, being temporary in different places and times. he learned to accept that everything was just temporary, that there would be an end to everything. so when it came to you, he wondered how you managed to change his entire perspective on life, and make it all come back within the span of 4 years.
his first and last visions of you were both polar opposites, in turn, you were also his foil, the opposite of him, someone that had the ability to challenge his beliefs. to challenge his very core values. even up until death, you still shook his very core beliefs.
when he first met you, you were both paired up on a project for japanese literature, studying the works of poets and deciphering the hidden meanings between each phrase. to you, everything and anything held meaning, while to him, only things that seemed to hold meaning held meaning. after all, he never naturally desired to try harder.
his second moment of you was when you had decided to go to the beach with some of your friends, coincidentally, tsukishima and yamaguchi were also there minding their own business. he had his headphones on, bobbing his head to the music while yamaguchi was simply sitting on the sand, admiring the view. you however, approached him greeting both him and yamaguchi with a smile. he tuned into his music, giving you a nod of acknowledgement as you begin to chat with yamaguchi. next thing he knew, he saw you running towards the water, waving to him with a smile, catching up to your friends. perhaps he wanted to take a photo of you, smiling to him as you looked back at him.
when he was with you, each moment felt fleeting. every moment that he had with you was temporary, so he wondered why you came back each time. why you came back to haunt him, over, and over, and over again. each moment with you made him question his core belief of everything being temporary. if everything was temporary, why did you keep coming back to him?
at some point, he watched over his shoulder, making sure you were still there with him and yamaguchi. he wold begin to look for you when you weren't there. he would check to make sure you were doing alright and would also make sure that you were doing your best. of course, he didn't know that he subconsciously let you into his life, and he knew damn well how you were temporary, how everyone was temporary.
after four years of becoming close friends, all three of you would constantly spend time with one another, making sure you all allocated time for one another even if there were club activities. all three of you expected to spend the rest of your lives with one another, never growing distant and always being friends even if one of you ended up living across the globe.
during those four years, tsukishima learned to accept the truth, that not everything is temporary. he learned to accept others because you alternated his beliefs and values. you managed to catch the sand holding him and placing him into a new environment. watching him change and become someone new, he embraced the change you provided for him.
he remembered watching you run towards the road, in a sense he felt that it was cliche, this was how everything ended. in each romance book one of them always died by being his by a car, he watched it hit you, your body flying and stopping in the middle of the intersection. he barely processed it, and only finally did when he heard the thud of your body hit the ground and the blood seeping out.
he remembered calling an ambulance, he remembered holding your hand telling, no, begging you to stay with him, begging you to wake up. he remembered being surrounded by people, so many people who came out of their cars to check on you, passerby's who were confused by the commotion. he remembered getting into the ambulance with you, he remembered all the machines that suddenly became part of you, machines that you had to rely on.
he vividly remembered watching you smile looking back at him as you ran to the sea at the beach, and he felt sick. he could only reach for your hand, asking you not to go, to wait, that you both still had your future with yamaguchi, that you still had the plans you three planned to fulfil with one another.
he remembered watching you get reeled into the emergency room, he remembered being forced to wait for you in the waiting room. he remembered holding his hands to his face in absolute anguish, begging some unknown god to keep you alive. he also remembered watching your parents barge in, tears streaming down their face.
oddly enough, he knew his prayers couldn't have been answered and he hated that. he knew you died upon entering the hospital, he knew when he felt your hand slip off of his, when your chest stopped slightly rising.
and for the first time in four years, he remembered that everything was temporary.

AUTHORS NOTE: my concert band days are over because i graduated high school </3 the university i'm going to only lets people in by audition (i don't want to audition), so i thought of this!

AKAASHI KEIJI (赤葦 京治)
keiji lets you PRACTICE whenever you guys spend time in your room or his, he'll find it entertaining to listen to your part and he'll applaud every once in a while even if you mess up. it might not seem like he's listening but he is!
when he sees you in your CONCERT BLACK, he'll blush and tell you that you look amazing. he'll run his hands on your back, following your spine and would 100% kiss you a lot (can you blame him? poor guy just thinks you're ethereal). formal blacks are a die-hard for him and he absolutely adores them on you!
PRE-CONCERT, if you're stressed then he'll give you plenty of reassurance, hugs, and kisses. he'll tell you how you worked so hard for this moment and that he knows that you'll do amazing. he also reminds you that if you mess up once, it wouldn't be heard because there's so many other parts other than yours.
DURING THE CONCERT, expect him to be videoing you only. additionally, practicing your part with him made him become attentive and he somehow manages to hear your part. definitely cheers for you, you can hear it in the video he takes with it being solely focused on you! oh and don't get me started on his ability to record with such stable hands!
POST-CONCERT, he'll treat you to dinner, he definitely took photos of you playing and with you in your blacks and dressed formal for the occasion. if you don't feel like eating dinner then he'l definitely take you out to a cafe! he'll treat you because of how well you did and how you worked so hard for this moment!!!!
OIKAWA TOORU (及川 徹)
tooru knows that you PRACTICING is like him practicing volleyball. whenever he spends time with you while you practice he always offers you words of encouragement and tells you how amazing you're doing. if he finds you struggling at a measure for more than an hour, he'll tell you to take a break because he doesn't want you to overwork yourself.
when he sees you in your CONCERT BLACKS he's going to tell you how hot you look, maybe he'll even go into detail about what makes you look so hot with your blacks (he's a very smooth talker). might get handsy HAHA, he will 100% put his hands on your waist and tell you how fucking hot you look (100% his words, and would tell you that right in front of a mirror so you can see him too).
PRE-CONCERT, he'll tell you that you'll do amazing and makes sure that you're well-relaxed. in fact, he'll give you a massage before you leave home! even on your phone, he's bombarding you with "you'll do great today!!!" the guy is literally rooting for you (and only you)!
DURING THE CONCERT, his eyes are only looking at you, he's 100% listening intently and genuinely enjoys the pieces you preform (mainly because you contributed to it, but honestly that's besides the point). he'll applaud after each piece is completed and would give you reassuring smiles if you ever look to him in the audience.
POST-CONCERT, he's 100% taking photos of you with your instrument before you have to put it away. once you're free, he'll give you a bouquet of flowers that he bought before the concert that he hid from you. then he's taking you out to a nearby cafe so you can relax and enjoy yourself after your concert, he'll likely also take you on a walk to see the sunset on a hill with something hot to drink in hand from a cafe!

AUTHORS NOTE: my first ever request!? i ended up staying up a bit late last night doing a bit of a character study on kuroo because i really really wanted to get this posted HAHA!! also kuroo's ending quote might be a little cheesy, but that's probably because i feel as though he'd be a very cheesy boyfriend hehe. this might be a bit ooc, so i do apologize if it is, still kinda studying the characters LOLOL

TSUKISHIMA KEI (月島 蛍)
the very first thing that kei would do is wipe those tears and hold you in his arms. he's not going to push you about what's bothering you and honestly wants to make sure that you can actually communicate to him without sobbing throughout the whole conversation.
afterwards, he'll ask about why you cried. he'll hold your hand and rub circles onto the back of your hands in order to try to soothe you. he might get a bit pushy, or defensive if it comes to him, but he's very self-aware when he does that and will take care of you.
after the whole ordeal, he'll play some music (highly likely the genre is rnb) in the background for both of you to relax and cuddle to while telling you some interesting things he learned of in a new book that he's been reading (he might end up rambling).
you let out a small sniff, your nose still stuffy from crying so hard. tsukishima pulls you in closer to his chest, heaving a sigh as he then kisses your forehead gently. the music in the background was not too overwhelming, if one of you were to talk then the music would definitely be drowned out.

KUROO TETSUROU (黒尾 鉄朗)
will immediately hug you the moment he sees you breaking down in tears and bombard you with questions such as "what's wrong?" or "what happened??" or "did someone hurt you?!" purely because he doesn't know why you're crying.
he's going to push you to tell him why you cried, no matter what. if you keep refusing to tell him, highly likely that he would provoke you into telling him. once you do tell him though, he'll apologize for pushing you so much and would tell you that he just wanted to know what was wrong because he knows it's not good for you to bottle it up.
afterwards, he'll take you out on a walk if you're up for it and you'll probably stop by a cafe or something so you can find a place to munch on. he wants to make sure that you're taking care of yourself. if you're not well, he loves to cuddle with you and would also probably fall asleep on you. oh, did i mention he'll give you plenty of affirmation??????
after spending practically an hour bawling your eyes out and an additional hour of kuroo trying to get you to tell him what was wrong, you somehow ended up at a cafe, eating a pastry as a way for yourself to regain energy. the cafe wasn't too busy, which was something you were thankful for because you weren't even sure if you could tolerate after earlier. yet despite all of that, your boyfriend, kuroo, gives you a reassuring smile, his hand placed in yours as he rubs circles on the back of your hand.
"you're amazing, dear. i can't help but fall in love with you everyday."

will 100% turn on the ac and put a cooling pad on your forehead, he wants to make sure you're comfortable but he will encourage you to take off some of the blankets you've layered over yourself to make things more effective.
he'll also get you to drink something cold if you can stomach it and not vomit on him. he's observant, so he'll be able to tell if you can or can't.
TSUKISHIMA KEI
throws you outside, not into the snow, but he's sure as hell going to put you outside. he knows it's cold enough to cool you down even by a bit, so he opts for that.
he also knows how stubborn you are when you're sick, so he'll carry you outside. he has good intentions, i swear! but he long gave up the idea of using a cooling pad when you would just take if off and insist you're fine.
AZUMANE ASAHI
out of stress, he will throw you in the snow. he's panicked, you're out of cooling pads, he cant turn on the ac because he knows you'll turn it off, so he decides to just toss you in the snow.
afterwards he'll apologize profusely but you needed to get your temperature down fast and throwing you in the snow was the best possible option. he'll make you some warm tea afterwards as an apology and give you a kiss on your cheek.

AUTHORS NOTE: both options of keeping and terminating are considered in here, and for the sake of it, i'll be putting in a cutoff. all characters included are assumed to be at the age of consent and legality but still in highschool. i've also finished all of haikyuu save for the movies, so now i'm rewatching everything in dub LOLOL.

INITIAL EMOTION: ANXIETY
a few days prior, he made a list considering both outcomes of termination and keeping the child. he knows the direction to the nearest termination clinic by HEART if you intend to select that route.
regardless of keeping or terminating, all he wants is what's best for you, if you think you can handle carrying a child, he'll support you. and if you want out, he'll help and be there with you throughout the whole process.
no matter the decision, expect a bit of pampering the following days. he'll most likely appear in front of your house with a basket full of snacks and treats that you love.
a few months into your decision with KEEPING the child, he'll hold your belly a lot and start displaying more physical affection. oh, and he'll also be super protective of your belly too, he'll actually cry when he notices the bump HAHA!!
a few months after your decision of TERMINATION, he'll be a lot more weary of intercourse and would most definitely have anxiety because of what happened. give him some love and reassurance (and some protection) and it'll all be alright.
KAGEYAMA TOBIO
INITIAL EMOTION: ???
most certainly did not expect the outcome of it being positive. in fact, he's sitting on the floor unresponsive, somewhat like a statue, and is 100% not breathing.
he's definitely sitting there and thinking about how his future would be with a child despite his desire to go pro, also, how the hell would you finish school with a child? in the end, he's ultimately going to support you, the child is in you and not him.
kinda dazed during the following days, he's still trying to process everything that happened and everything feels surreal and so far away from him, if you look at him in class you can see him constantly pinching his arms to see if this was his reality.
a few months after your decision of KEEPING the child, he'll definitely be insanely overprotective, as in absolute princess treatment. he'll definitely spoil you, 100% would buy you anything, take it as his way of apologizing to you for getting you pregnant hehe.
a few months post-TERMINATION, he's still slightly jittery with intimacy, it got to a point where he couldn't even look at you due to the fear of it happening again. of course, he'll need a lot of time, comfort, reassurance, and love, nothing you can't offer!
YAMAGUCHI TADASHI
INITIAL EMOTION: GUILT
was prepared for this outcome already, he mulled it over a few days ago and he knew that there would be two options, and he also knew that only you could decide between termination or letting the child live.
will 100% comfort you so that he could calm down. he'll distract himself with you for a bit before reality comes crashing down on him. because of that, he'll end up blaming himself for this even happening. the guilt will eat him out alive because he put you in this position.
will make you plenty of pastries to make up to it for you, everyday during lunch he'll hand you like 3 lunch boxes filled with baked goods he made the night before for you. you know that baking brings him comfort, so in turn you also decide to brew him tea to help him calm his nerves.
a few months into your decision of KEEPING the child, he's very, very, very gentle with you. as in, he treats you like you're made of glass and demands the best for you no matter how little it is. he's making sure you're comfortable and taking care of yourself. oh, and he's still baking you pastries still, not everyday but definitely once or twice each week.
a couple of months after TERMINATION, he refuses to have intimacy with you because he thinks that you'll get pregnant again, poor guy is so traumatized so you've restricted yourselves to cuddling and makeouts. eventually, you both will get back to doing intimacy, but for now your boyfriend just wants to be in your arms hehe <3
I'M SLIGHTLY caught between posting a 2020 semishira fic as a whole or in smaller incraments. mainly because of the unfinished and unfulfilling ending i had given it. i wanna give the fic the justice it deserves, hence posting it in incraments, but i know that some people might not be into chapters and prefer reading things all in one go (is this the struggle of a tumblr writer)...
I KNOW IT'S ultimately my decision but my decision is conflicted, might just wait it out till i find an ending or leave it to be open-ended.

100% would make a playlist for you, probably would label it ask a nickname he calls you (99% chance it'd be called "1diot" cause you're the only idiot for him, would probably be his exact words when you ask why too). the playlist would include all the songs that remind him of you and also songs you like, also it's definitely over 48 hours long (what can i say he really loves you, also 80% of those songs are ones that make him think of you)!!!
"a playlist?" you asked him as he opened the link he sent you earlier on in the day. he told you to wait to open it until he finished practice as he said he would stop by. you shifted on your bed, leaning your head onto his shoulder as he gave you a hum in response.
"one-diot... what?"
"are you stupid?" he asked and you could only roll your eyes and grumble at his words before he let out a sigh.
"because you're the only idiot for me."
and by god, you fell in love with him again.
SUGAWARA KOUSHI
makes you lunch everyday for school, would deliver it to you and it could either be the exact same thing as he has or completely different depending on dietary restrictions. oh, he would also write a note in there to motivate you and make sure you keep going (on a banana, because he thinks it's cute. did i mention he would eat with you AND your friends?????).
"[name]!!" he called out in front of your classroom door with a grin and a box full of your lunch, causing you to greet him with a wave and a smile as he makes his way to the table you're seated at. once he's seated you thank him for the food after he places both his and your lunch containers on the table. you remove the lid of your box, and as per usual, there's a banana with a note.
"you're amazing love, i love you <3"
you can't help but smile at the banana.
DAICHI SAWAMURA
messages you motivating things to keep giving you energy throughout the day, messages would probably be sent in every hour, not a minute late either (sometimes you end up wondering if it's actually him or if it's a robot, but you always smile at the messages, so you're not complaining)!
you let out a groan, leaning further into your chair as you continue to attempt the math problem you've been struggling on for the past 30 minutes, you were falling behind and your grades were really showing it, and you seriously needed to catch up, fast. just as you were about to go back to your work, your phone dings causing you to check it.
"you're not going to get anything done if you overwork yourself, make sure you take a break!"
you let out a sigh and smile, thanking him as you then shut your phone off followed by you eating a snack nearby.
