Valiant's Fun Little Intro

Hi! We're Valiant System, but you can call us Valiant or Val too. We're 27 years old, gay (pan, kindof, but mainly male-attracted) & genderfluid (Any Pronouns) Latino, a Mixed Origins system (DID/OSDD-1b + Endo), and have Autism, ADHD, and BPD.

We love too many things, so this is just going to be a random place for stuff in life and to share our more creative side along with any fandoms and some mental health stuff + system stuff maybe even alter posts because yes that's a part of our life too.

We're also a HelPol and Demonolater (among other things) chaos witch, and I post casually (and not often now) on @witchesofvaliant!

Fun fact, we also identify as a incubuskin, which means we identify as a demonkin and vampirekin as well! (It's all just different terms for the same thing)

Z - Vampire OC

"I am their dog, and they have me by the collar. I apologize for the circumstances we've found ourselves in, beautiful mistress."

An Italian-based amnesic vampire, going only by Z, with no known name even to himself. He finds himself not knowing his past or where he came from, and having found himself waking up in Vatican City, captured by the Church, he now works under their control. He has no choice but to follow the Vatican's wishes, a secret operative for the Catholic Church's undercover dealings. Having been threatened with starvation and extermination, he follows faithfully and pitifully, like a dog on a leash, tied to his next meal.

This is an OC that I've been working on in the background for a while now. It's been years since I've REALLY gotten into character art, especially digitally, but I know that I CAN draw. This is just a basic fast sketch done in the moment, and I'll hopefully be putting out more character art in the near future for him and other people with time.

Simply Plural is discontinuing — What now?

The first thing we're NOT going to do is harass the Mod Team OR the Developer behind Simply Plural. There's a hard truth some of you need to understand, YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO ANYTHING. You are not entitled to the app, or the source code for it. Simply Plural is an optional resource for systems. There's many different alternatives {which I shall explain momentarily.} DNI with this blog if you have attacked, harassed, or been assy towards the MT or Dev. Do not try and argue with me in the replies, I WILL JUST BLOCK YOU. I'm also going to take the time to clear up some misconceptions about this that can all be found in their FAQ!! — People are not expected to find this out via the Discord, an announcement will be made in app. An announcement has since been made in-app. — You do not have to rush to find an alternative now, SP will remain online until June 1st minimum, maybe longer if more funding is available. — Funding is not the issue, generating big donations will not help {besides from keeping the servers alive a bit longer, it will still eventually shut down}, there are other factors in play here {especially time.} — The project cannot just be "passed on" to another team or company. There are lots of legal & trust issues behind this. TLDR; there's a lot of data that needs to be handled, capitalism is a thing and if passed on then ADs / other things could be implemented, a lot of laws around this thing. It would also be very expensive. — It has not been confirmed whether the source code will be made public after the shut down as a decision has not been reached yet. A poll will take place to see how many people are interested in self-hosting and if that is an option. — Subscriptions will be cancelled about a month before the app shuts down, you can always cancel your own subscription if worried about any issues however. — NO THE DEVELOPER IS NOT MISUSING FUNDS HOLY SHIT, STOP SPREADING MISINFO.

Simply Plural Alternatives !!

Ampersand — An app with a similar profle layout to Simply Plural. In early stages and missing some features, however heavily customizable. Only available on Android currently {with IOS in the works}, works on MAC / Windows / Linux too. However, it also seems to struggle with high member counts. No longer on Hiatus! Ourcana — An app like SP / Octocon / Etc. with customizable profiles, PK / SP importing, customizable terminology, etc. With a Tarot Card look. However, the Discord Server appears to prioritize new features over bug reports, so tough luck if you're having issues. Pluralkit — A discord bot that allows you to proxy as other members, create profiles with PFPs, Descriptions, Banners, etc. for them. Also has some options to register switches / can display who is currently fronting. Allows you to make groups too that can display on profiles. Has a member cap by default, however this cap can be raised in their support server if you ask! {also available on a dashboard if you don't want to work with commands} Tupperbox — Essentially Pluralkit but with less focus on plural terminology if that is not your thing. {also available on a dashboard if you don't want to work with commands} /plu/ral — A discord bot that allows you to create profiles that look like actual Discord profiles. Allows for use in servers anywhere without the bot as long as they allow external apps. In early access. TwiNote — A fake social media app made to resemble Twitter, you can create multiple profiles and create posts from these profiles. Mystagram — A more Instagram-like experience that allows you to create profiles, post pictures using them and add comments. The Discover page features a calendar view which can be used to track overall activity on your plurality's network. The "Likes" work like filtering your favourite posts, but you can also add {hash}tags to your posts and browse them like filters. Only available on IOS. Pronouns.CC — Less about tracking switches / fronting and more about creating pretty profiles. A {much better imo} alternative to Pronouns.Page, allows you to upload flags, create separate members under one account, add pronouns, descriptions, display names and PFPs. Limit of 500 Members + 500 Flags. In Early Access. Only available as a website. write.ellipsus.com — A more oddball choice being a writing program, less about tracking switches / fronting and more about creating profiles. Can create folders, separate documents, upload images, decorate with themes, text formatting, fonts + more. Also allows you to share links as reader links so other people can view. Works better on Desktop / PC rather than mobile. Available as a website. Can also easily be used for note-taking about what happened while fronting, etc. AnyType — An advanced but heavily customizable "everything" app. Features range from writing simple notes to managing to-dos, calendars and databases inside a local vault. Plurals can also use it to log highly customisable profiles. There are also chatting features. Although it's primarily made for singlets, plurals can take advantage of it as well by attaching their profile to their message bubbles. Some features require you to build them yourself, better to set up on PC / Desktop. Scratchupload — Originally made for uploading images for stuff such as SP, Pluralkit, etc. However, they managed to make a fronting thing in less than 24 hours. Currently not much yet but it works, suggestions can also be made in their support server and is being worked on still. Available as a website. FEEL FREE TO SUGGEST OTHER RESOURCES. Please note that Lighthouse is currently in the process of also being sunset and future accounts cannot be made. Octocon is being shut down too. A lot of information about these has been taken from other sources around the internet, I am not familiar with a lot of these so it is best to test yourself.

Here is your reminder to not believe everything you read. Funds are not being misused, the Dev or Mod Team are not "hiding anything" by shutting down the discord server. It is because a lot of you are assholes and need a big reality check!!!

Wanted to bring some light to this. I love the alternatives given, but I wanted to add some more information to this:

Lighthouse is in active development, not being sunset (We are in the Discord for it and have checked into this to make sure from the development team) AND we can speak to personal experience that using it has been lovely, and we'll be posting a separate huge pose on using Lighthouse and a tutorial for self-hosting it so you can have it offline too!

Some people mentioned Antar in the comments, that is a good one too for mobile devices

Pluralkit must have a LARGE member cap, because we have had over 400 members and have never reached a limit, so I wouldn't say it's a downside at all on that too

We also use Obsidian both for our notes, writing, AND system organization/information

We were introduced to Twine too, and it's also an interesting tool to use, that I suggest looking into. It's originally for building text adventure games with choices in it, but it can function as a whole data storage tool, with a basic graphics interface (We'll make a separate post on starting with it too for use with systems or just in general but you should see https://pluraltwine.neocities.org/ for info on it. Credit to Local Void for this information and introducing it to us!)

Aventio headcanon #_

No matter how serious, cold, and detached from people Veritas may seem to those around him, in reality, he is an extremely sensitive and supportive person. Beneath the tough shell of a skeptic that he presents to everyone hides a true fighter for justice - someone who seems to care about humanity more than anyone else. With his heightened sense of justice, he defends people when their rights are violated, participates in symposia, and examines problems from both scientific and social perspectives in order to get closer to solving them. Aventurine, on the other hand, having simpler and rather pragmatic views on life, is sometimes utterly astonished by the thoughts and behavior of his beloved, and therefore tries to learn the same depth of compassion and sensitivity toward other people - beyond just Veritas himself. After all, Ratio has always been an exception to every rule for the avgin.

A Ratio fic that shows him at a point where he's discovering a lot of the baggage he's carried around for years, while starting his new position as representative of the Guild and working with the IPC more closely. That means he's meeting Aventurine for the first time, and they go on their first mission together too!

It's an ongoing series, and for the moment, it's a very short start, but there's definitely more to come!

🐀🐀 Ratio as a system started lowkey as a gag (8 doctorates, 8 doctors + the discrepancy of the # of leaves in her laurel pin is just diff pins diff alters wear) but this hc is so real to me now

usually "thoroughbred academics" like Ratio suffer a lot of childhood trauma because it's just not healthy to replace normal child development (socializing, developing their own interests, learning work-life balance, etc.) with just school. The kind of environments that would allow this aren't really safe, whether it's abuse or neglect or an evil third thing. I'm definitely not talking from experience or anything 😅

so I've always hced her as a child of neglect, having to turn to books for comfort and hoping academic excellence would be enough for her family to really love her and give her the time of day. but she still has to like essentially raise herself + she's the only one who really understands what she needs when it comes to autism things

and basically her headmates split to help her take care of herself, help with school, help with socializing appropriately, deal with stress at work, etc.

I also hc Aventurine as a polyfrag system and the little Kakavasha and the "Aventurine" we see with him in Penacony are his headmates. He's polyfrag bc I just think he would have a bunch of half-differentiated fragments holding pieces of memories or disembodied thoughts that are clearly not from any of the three fully formed alters. like I think it would be interesting if like post-Penacony there was a disembodied Ratio introject who helps Ave ground himself...like a wave of clarity just hits him out of nowhere

yes this does mean Fugue/Tingyun and Sunday are also systems to me

I also think Marchie and Evernight are a system :3 but I won't say more on that bc spoilers (i say as if I actually played that far either. i just pulled March 2th and the character stories are like...yeah this is basically canon)

i completely love that read on ratio, i also felt the same, even system stuff aside, that neglect especially would been a factor growing up. i could easily tap in to adding a system on top of it. honestly, the best stuff starts as jokes, at least in my experience. youve put a lot of thought into it and i really like it :3

have you ever thought about her alters/headmates at all as themselves, names, personalities, etc? i love stuff like that. im often scared to do it with canon characters (though i am trying my best not to be) but i loved working on this with an oc of mine. exploring it was really a lot of fun and id love to do that more

i was totally getting those same vibes on aventurine though!! while i was playing it, the whole section really got me emotionally and it felt like something i could relate to on just a scale of dissociation alone. him being how he was with the little kakavasha got me so bad it felt so nice, even if the situation was not so nice. if that makes sense at all.

i can apply this to sunday and tingyun/fugue in the same way. a LOT of penacony hit me with these same feelings of Multitudes. multitues. dissociation and the sense of self (especially when you add a dreamscape to the mix, for me, anyways)

i really like these even if i dont know about evernight much yet 🥺im very shy about hcing characters with Did/osdd/etc but it definitely comes from a place of being shy about my own DID. this makes me want to forget all that though because exploring these characters through this lens is really appealing to me
