A/n: I'm trying something new here so bear with me, I'm thinking of making this a series so let me know what you think!
Warnings⚠️: loss of a parent, missing sister and eventual violence.
You were curled up in a desk chair in DSO headquarters, eyes wide as you stared at the wall like it had personally traumatized you and to be fair, the news you had received was enough to bring out those feelings.
You were Grace Ashcroft's younger sister by almost 10 years, but even with that kind of age difference you two were nearly insuperable.
Then you lost your mom, or more like someone took her from your life.
You turned quiet to the point where you were almost mute, only talking when absolutely necessary.
The death of your mother had nearly destroyed you and now there was a chance you were going to lose your older sister as well.
You were at school when you got the news, or more like a woman introduced herself as Sherry Birkin and pulled you out of class with a grim face, saying that your sister had gone missing from either an investigation gone wrong or something really stupid and dangerous.
That was just enough for you to shut down and as a cherry on top your sister had disappeared at the exact same place that your mother had died.
You pulled your knees to your chest, wrapping your arms around them as two pairs of footsteps entered the office.
"What is so important that I need to take this case, The President damm near ordered me to take it" a rough, deep and slightly ragged voice came from the doorway.
"You're the best we've got Leon and this case has links to Raccoon City" Birkin said like it explained everything as the man named 'Leon' sighed before apparently seeing you.
"That's Grace's younger sister, I pulled her in to make sure she wouldn't attempt to get into that damned place herself" The woman sighed "Poor kid has been through too much already"
Leather boots squeaked slightly as someone approached you, crouching down in front of you.
"How are you doing kid?" Leon asked, resting his arms on his knees.
You shrugged your shoulders, keeping your eyes trained at the wall.
"Right, stupid question" he said, you could feel his heavy gaze on you, scanning you "Do you have any idea why she would go missing during a investigation there?"
So that's what it was called "Our mom was killed there" you mutter.
"... I'm sorry kid" Leon said after a while "Would she be desperate enough to search for answers there?"
You stayed quiet and after awhile a hand tousled your hair before he stood back up, walking back to Birkin as the talked in hushed voices.
You picked up some words "Don't let her follow... Kid... Wrenwood... Tonight... Get her out"
It made you think, would Grace be desperate enough to search for answers there? To face her fear head on?... The simple answer was yes, both of you would. Especially since they told you so little about your mother's death, like it was something forbidden that they were not allowed to share.
It was clear that they would never allow you to go near Wrenwood, but unfortunately for them they underestimated just how far you would go to keep your last remaining family safe.
So that is why, that after they let you go home for the night since they couldn't keep you there, you stashed your backup of school supplies in a closet and looked for the car that you thought someone like an old agent like Leon would drive and eventually spotted a Porsche.
You pulled out your pocket knife and by some miracle from above you managed to pry open the trunk, it was full of weapons but you quickly made a space big enough for you to lay down as the alarm beeped. You reached high and slammed the trunk shut as the alarm seized.
You waited and you waited, when suddenly you heard the car door slam shut and the engine roar to life.
"Yeah I'm on my way now" Leon's muffled voice sounded as you felt the car move.
'Hang on big sis, I'm coming to get you' you thought to yourself as you made yourself as comfortable as possible. On your way to the worst nightmare of your life.
