Hamlet adaptation where Hamlet is a vlogger and all his soliloquies are breakdowns he uploads to YouTube
⊠I am unironically here for this
this is the funniest thing Iâve ever seen in my life
This is - legitimately - my favourite delivery of Shakespeare I have EVER seen (and I have seen some good-ass productions yo, in the Globe Theatre itself even). Like seriously, even though the words are unchanged, heâs stripped away ALL of the archaic pretense and assumed grandeur of ~presenting the bard~ that makes even the most wildly talented of actors and innovative of productions inherently inaccessible to a modern audience. Like, theyâre still great, they can still communicate the message and (some) of the nuance, but theyâre still always a step removed from being identifiable to any viewerâs lived experience. Theyâre still always reciting 15th century poetry. But this guy? This guy is like, screw iambic pentameter, to hell with being precious about the material, HOW WOULD AN ACTUAL PERSON SAY THIS SHIT?
Like this. And itâs beautiful. Itâs beautiful to hear a soliloquy I loved so much already, and have it come to life in a way it never, ever, did before. I feel like I grasp his motivations, his twists and turns, no longer on an academic level but on a visceral, instinctive one. Because heâs presenting his mental and emotional journey in a way that speaks honestly, like a real person.
So yeah, this shit post? I love it. Deeply and sincerely.
A post about this went round recently, and Iâm delighted to announce sheâs since come out as trans and goes by Jasmine đłïžââ§ïž
Actor and Writer
Thereâs a whole series of the Hamlet videos on her YouTube, as well as a bunch of other films sheâs made
TRIED TO COME UP WITH AN ON-THE-SPOT ANALOGY FOR BEING ASEXUAL AND THE FIRST THING MY BRAIN SHAT OUT WAS "IT'S LIKE A WAFFLE MAKER"
Ways that sex is like a waffle maker:
1. Lots of people have one but you don't really think about it until they start talking about making waffles and you're like "oh shit they have a waffle maker"
2. Messy as fuck and you know what as far as I see it why even bother when you have pancakes, you don't need to bother with all those fluids and crevices with pancakes
3. WHY DOES EVERYONE AT THE WEDDING THINK YOU NEED ONE
4. Theoretically implied fun with whipped cream until it melts and starts soaking into shit
5. If you don't prep ur surfaces ur gonna have a bad time
6. It's fun in the kitchen but only on like special occasions cause again it's a pain in the ass to clean
7. ??? I prefer crĂȘpes tbh I don't get it
Looking forwards to celebrating the 6th birthday of the post I made to describe a stance I was assured I'd grow out of by 13

i created kuyarei in tomodachi life but then rei rejected kuya when he confessed and mii kuya got so depressed đđđ
so im just thinking kuyarei in ur modern au where this exact thing happened while kuya plays tomodachi life and now hes MASSIVELY sulking. rei is getting ready for work and kuya is just "yeah go away u hate me anw đ" and rei is just "???? were already MARRIED"
OMGGGGDF SO:
That night, Kuya went to bed alone. Rei paid no mind to it since this was a normal occurrence â he comes home at an ungodly hour from work, Kuya would already be asleep by then, they wake up to start their mornings together, and Rei goes back to work. This was normal.
So peacefully Rei sleptâŠ
âŠuntil their alarm went off an hour later.
Groggily, Rei subconsciously turns to tap Kuyaâs shoulder to turn off the alarm but surprisingly, Kuya dodges Reiâs touch before his hand could meet his body and shuts the blasted thing off. Rei sits slightly up and squints at Kuya strangely.
âWhat the hell was that?â Rei asks him, clueless.
The memory of Reiâs Mii rejecting his own flashes back in his mind and it was enough to sour Kuyaâs day all over again. So silently, Kuya glares at Rei and takes his Nintendo Switch with him.
Kuya doesnât say a word.
He just stares.
Not even blinking. Just⊠stares.
Rei, still halfway between sleep and consciousness, frowns at him. âWhy are you looking at me like that?â
Silence.
Then Kuya very deliberately unlocks the Switch. The brightness hits Rei straight in the eyes.
He hisses, squinting. âTurn that downââ
Kuya ignores him.
Tap.
Tap.
Tap.
Rei watches, increasingly confused, as Kuya aggressively navigates through menus like he personally offended the console.
ââŠWhat are you doing?â
Still nothing.
Kuya finally finds what heâs looking for, then without warning, he shoves the Switch directly into Reiâs face.
âLook.â
Rei leans back slightly, eyes narrowing at the screen.
Two Miis.
One of them â Kuya.
The other â Rei.
A little speech bubble.
A rejection.
Rei stares.
ââŠWhat am I looking at?â
Kuyaâs eye twitches.
âYou rejected me.â
Rei blinks.
ââŠThatâs a game.â
âYou rejected me,â Kuya repeats, slower this time, like Rei is the problem.
âItâs â Kuya, thatâs a Miiââ
âItâs you.â
âIt is literally not me.â
Kuya lets out a quiet, offended scoff and pulls the Switch back, holding it to his chest like it personally understands him better than his own husband.
âI see how it is.â
Rei rubs his face. âNo, I donât think you do.â
Kuya turns away from him.
âGo to work,â he mutters. âYou hate me anyway.â
Rei just stares at his back.
ââŠWeâre married.â
âAnd yet.â
âAnd yet what?â
Kuya doesnât answer.
He just huffs and opens the game again. Rei watches him for a long second, then reaches over and grabs Kuyaâs wrist.
Kuya freezes. ââŠWhat.â
Rei doesnât let go. âYouâre seriously mad at me because my video game version rejected you.â
âYou say that like it doesnât mean anything.â
âIt doesnât.â
âIt reflects your subconscious.â
Rei lets out a disbelieving laugh. âNo it doesnât.â
âIt does,â Kuya insists, now fully turning to glare at him. âYou hesitated. I saw it. There was a pause.â
âThatâs because the gameââ
âYou hesitated.â
Rei exhales slowly, like heâs trying very hard not to lose patience before 8 AM. ââŠSo what, you think I secretly donât want to be with you?â
Kuya doesnât answer immediately. Which, somehow, is worse. Reiâs expression shifts â less annoyed now, more⊠intent. âKuya.â
Kuya looks away. ââŠYou said no.â
Rei stares at him for a long moment. Then, without warning, he reaches over, grabs Kuya by the chin, and turns his face back toward him.
Kuya blinks, caught off guard.
âWhat are youââ
Rei cuts him off, flatly: âI married you.â
Kuya pauses.
ââŠThat doesnât erase the rejection.â
Reiâs eye twitches.
âOkay.â
Before Kuya can react, Rei grabs the Switch out of his hands.
âHeyââ
Rei navigates the menu with way too much confidence for someone who clearly does not care about this game.
âWhat are you doing?â
âIâm fixing it.â
âYou canât justââ
Rei shoves the screen back in Kuyaâs face again.
âConfess.â
Kuya stares at him.
ââŠWhat.â
âDo it again.â
Kuya narrows his eyes. âThatâs not howââ
âDo it.â
Thereâs something in Reiâs tone now. Not annoyed. Not confused. Certain.
Kuya hesitates.
Then, slowly, he takes the Switch back.
Tap.
Tap.
Tap.
The confession plays out again.
Kuya doesnât look at the screen this time.
He looks at Rei.
The Mii version of Rei pausesâ
âand says yes.
Thereâs a little jingle.
Hearts.
Kuya goes very still.
Rei raises an eyebrow. âThere. Problem solved.â
Kuya stares at the screen.
Then at Rei.
Then back at the screen.
ââŠYou manipulated the outcome.â
âYes.â
âThatâs cheating.â
âI donât care.â
Kuyaâs grip tightens slightly around the Switch.
ââŠIt doesnât count.â
Rei sighs.
Then, softer this timeâ
âKuya.â
Kuya doesnât look up.
Rei reaches over again, less forceful now, just nudging his hand.
âI said yes in real life.â
Kuya finally glances at him.
Rei meets his eyes, completely steady.
âSo unless youâre planning to divorce me over a Mii,â he adds, dry, âI suggest you let this go.â
Kuya stares at him.
Long.
Quiet.
Thenâ
ââŠFine.â
Rei huffs a quiet laugh. âThatâs it?â
âFor now.â
âForâ? Kuyaââ
âIâm still watching you.â
Rei drops back onto the pillow, covering his face with one hand. âUnbelievable.â
Beside him, Kuya finally relaxes just a fraction, still clutching the Switch.
ââŠYou hesitated,â he mutters one last time.
Rei groans.
rei time

NEON Carnival Travel Journal: Aster
As the mansion proprietor, and as everyoneâs breadwinner, I have to talk business with visitors every day. I also need to make sure that everyoneâs needs are met if there are tough times at the mansion. I guess these are typical worries for a head of the family.
By the way, when I get tired, I return to my bat form. Itâs the easiest way for me to not expend as much essence. I go to my workroom and slip into my coffin bed, and I sleep soundly as can beâŠMaster Eiden is reliable, so he can take care of things for the time being. I can leave tasks to everyone else!
During my heyday, I was a lot taller, but itâs been a while since I was in that form. I donât miss being that tall. Even Master Eiden looks super tiny! There arenât any problems with that form, but I think I still like my cute Aster form better. After all, Master Eiden dotes on me so much when Iâm small! And if I look quiet and gentle, people let their guards down more âĄ
Since Iâm in charge of accounting in the casino, I spend a lot of time in my workroom. Itâs only natural that Iâd have to keep it tidy! I have it decorated with my many knickknacks. I also have some secrets hidden away in my safe. But, if you open it, I canât guarantee that youâll survive~! <<< Masterpost
does your car have a name ?
