I could eat toast with cheese for every meal of the day. I don't know if this is a bad sign but I slowly lose my appetite and stick to safe foods (sensory-wise) without very strong taste. I used to love different types of bread and food in general but now I just want to eat this one thing, but it's not because it's so yummy, it's just stable :(

First of all, thank you for the compliment and the question!! <3 I think I just love writing lists and want to help other people. Furthermore, these are mostly topics I struggled with or still do, so it helps me, too, to write this type of posts :)

ཐཫ Reasons to not hide your scars ཀཋ

┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉

⋮ they're healed → if you trigger others with your healed body, it's their problem, you're not responsible for other people's triggers. It's their accountability

⋮ inspiring others to not hide themself either and help them grow more confident (it helps a lot to see somebody else who doesn't hide their "flaws" (" because some people perceive scars as flaws but I don't))

⋮ it might get hot under all of these clothes! Don't torture yourself for the comfort of other people.

You're probably the person who perceives them and thinks about them the most, not others. They're most likely thinking about themselves and their own insecurities or tasks right now.

⋮ practicing self-compassion and self-love

⋮ it's your body and you don't have to be ashamed of it! Be proud for how your body healed the wound, it's a cool miracle of nature

⋮ you learn to accept it and might become more confident by exposing yourself to difficult situations instead of people-pleasing

⋮ when your scars are fully healed and white, you can show that one can overcome self harming if this is the reason for your scars (more or less, ik it might continue in other ways and areas but still)

⋮ almost everybody has a scar somewhere, some more, some less, it's normal. Every body has a different story

⋮ it gets normalized to not look "flawless" and "clean" and show scars, whatever the cause

⋮ avoiding exhausting secrecy and fear about others finding out, they already know; reducing shame

⋮ you don't owe anyone an explanation

⋮ another piece of advice to feel more safe: be prepared for asks and looks from people and think about how you want to react: ignore and continue with your life? Explain it shortly and honestly? Tell an obvious lie and laugh (e.g. your partner was Edward Scissorhands)? Saying you aren't comfortable to talk about it? Your decision

Hope this helps somebody. I understand that it might be really hard to show your scars if you have very severe scarring on your whole body that might even fright children but remember, it's not your fault. Even if you inflicted the scar yourself, I am 99% sure if you had any other way to relieve the pain or urge, you would have done that. I also acknowledge that your environment impacts your choice to show your scars a lot if you have abusive / judgemental people around you and there are many reasons to choose to not show them. Regardless, I wish you all the best and hope that you can find peace with your body in this world <3

If I sense that I'm catching a cold, I do these things to prevent it. This is my approved advice that I always follow because it genuinely helps me. Not read-bait or for attention.

⋮ drink ginger tea twice a day (force yourself)

⋮ keep an eye on vitamine c intake

⋮ eat an apple a day, maybe even a lemon

⋮ rest and don't exercise a lot

⋮ don't restrict food intake! it's important to fuel the body especially if in defend-mode

⋮ drink a lot of water, at least 2 l a day

I just saw a video of an adaptive cutting board for physically disabled people and it's so awesome. I'm not even disabled but it makes me so happy to see new things being invented to help people in their daily life <3
