whoops sorry for the absence everyone, an evil wizard (portfolio work, college applications, scholarship shit) cursed me and i forgot to draw good art for a while.
anyway iām officially going to college for illustration now!! final classes of senior year start tomorrow (all college credit, fuck my stupid baka life), iām on yearbook comittee, going to dc in march, life feels so unreal rn lol
I'm realising that if my art is not someone else's favourite art style that doesn't negate the fact that my art style is MY favourite art style (well, one of the many :D). Which is why I draw in it. Which is why I love doing art. Which is why I'm always looking at my own art, because underneath all the worries about what other people think, I'M SUCH A HUG FAN OF MY ART, YOU GUYS.
I firmly believe that should be the goal for artists. Work to make something you think looks good :}

Chrysanthamum Shrew (Redesign)
Chrysanthamum is a vampire child of Silvas Shrew (an ancient vampire who gets close with humans, and decides to adopt many as children by siring them) she is the middle child of the siblings close with my other core character, Chamomile Shrew. Chrys, out of the close sisters, is the most recluse-y. She loves her sisters, but doesn't like being around them all the time. She spends most of her time gardening, and growing things she loves, as well as things she thinks her sisters will.
Chrys dabbles a little more in alchemy than Roselle Shrew, and I figure they practice it together, and bond over it.

longlegs perfectly demonstrates that a horror film doesnāt need to shock or surprise to be good. narratively I could see exactly where it was going but it was so masterfully executed in everything from the visuals to the performances that I didnāt feel disappointed by the lack of a big twist or reveal. I think too many films these days rely on that two sway audience opinions but itās really not necessary if you just do what you do really well
