Color signatures of novels’ visual content by Jaz Parkinson. More. Looks like it may be possible to order prints, and even make requests!
(I just finished reading The Road and I can’t believe there is even THAT much color.)
Exercise to distill novels visuals into a signature to represent the story.
The 2012 Feltron Annual Report is now online.
Print copies are available for pre-order here: http://feltron.bigcartel.com
Feltron does it again. Though I don't see how much time he spends reporting captured on this.
2013 NBA All-Stars By Rami Moghadam
I might be into sports if they always presented their stats like this.
U.S. GUN MURDERS IN 2010
Compelling interactive info-graphic. Framing the figure of people killed with how many years that could add up to humanizes this beautiful chart.
Student creates a full-body tattoo infographic … about tattoos.
Paul Marcinkowski, a design student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, Poland, has taken the infographics craze to another level. Marcinkowski, who studies in the department of graphics and painting, has tattooed his entire body with an infographic about tattoos for his final project.
The tattoo includes stats such as the number of Americans who have tattoos (45 million), and the top three reasons for regretting a tattoo: the person’s name in the tattoo, the way it looks and it was stupid.

Some data mining for man's best friend in NYC!
Warby Parker Annual Report
Clearly inspired by Feltron, this annual report looks great and uses some fun java scrolling techniques.
Visually appealing app to give you a snapshot of the neighborhood you're standing in.
A map of America, with census data represented as a dot.
Just in case you weren't yet feeling humble in 2013, here's what you look like as a tiny dot in America.

Mark Your Territory - Check Into Foursquare by Peeing
One of the latest manifestations of this digitally mediated human solipsism is Foursquare. In Foursquare, similacra of real-world locations are digitally overlain in which humans can easily communicate to each other if they (supposedly) visisted a particular place, and which person (supposedly) holds domination over this place by visisting it the most frequently.
Mark Your Territory is a new system that lets individuals check-in to foursquare by physically urinating at the actual location.
Definitely the most extreme example of real life events taking place on social networks.
Social Media Compass.
