Vee Week 2025 FAQ

What is this?

Vee Week, or Veek, is a celebration of our favorite basilisk. We're hoping to encourage new fanworks of all kinds!

When is it?/Why those dates?

Veek will take place from Thursday, August 14th to Wednesday, August 20th. Those dates were chosen because Yesterday's Lie (Vee's debut episode) first aired on August 14, 2021. It's also the planned release date for the @vee-fanzine!

That said, it's never "too late" to be inspired or post fanworks. We'll be most actively reblogging tagged posts during actual Veek, so keep that in mind if you decide to post early or late.

Are there prompts?

There will be three to choose from each day and five alternate prompts as well. For each day, you may choose one or more of that day's prompts, or use an alternate prompt. The prompts are shown below and here (along with tagging notes):

Are there event graphics?

@lunar-jewels put together the banner and prompt list in this post, along with participation badges! The participation badges will be linked here soon.

What can I make?

You can make or write basically anything: meta, headcanons, haikus, limericks, 100 word drabbles, ficlets, long fics, traditional art, digital art, gifsets, rec lists, cosplay, embroidery, latte art, fanvids, etc. One fanwork can be used to fill multiple prompts. If you have an ongoing WIP and want to incorporate a prompt into a new chapter, that's fine too!

What if I'm not interpreting a prompt correctly?

We are not policing people's interpretations of the prompts. If a prompt inspires you to create, that's fantastic!

Is there an AO3 Collection?

Yes! This will open around August 13, 2025. You can post fanworks there, or add bookmarks to external links (like Tumblr posts with fan art).

Are there any other Vee fandom events?

YES! The @vee-fanzine is accepting contributions from anyone until August 1, 2025 and will release on August 14, 2025.

There is also the @toh-cookbook-zine! While not Vee-specific, you are more than welcome to contribute Vee-centric recipes (edible Hexes Hold'Em cards, anyone?) along with food-related trivia/meta, fanworks, and fanfic. Volume I submissions due by the end of September.

From Scones to Hearth: A TOH Cookbook Zine

In honor of the third anniversary of Watching and Dreaming, Volume II is now available, along with a bonus cocktail section! (Please consider local laws and drink responsibly.)

This free, digital fanzine has all kinds of food-themed fanworks — recipes, fanart, fanfic, and more! — inspired by the world of The Owl House.

As you look through the Zine, we encourage you to tag us if you try any recipes! We'd love to reblog your pictures. Please also show your appreciation to Zine contributors through comments and reblogs as participants share Zine fanworks on their socials and post to our AO3 Collection. Lastly, if you haven't already, please check out Volume I, which was released on the third anniversary of Thanks to Them.

Final Volume II Submissions Due March 15th!

Do you want your work to be included in a free, digital, food-themed The Owl House fanzine?

We will accept all recipes, fanfic, fanart, and other fanworks turned in by March 15th that meet our content guidelines: related to both The Owl House and food in some way, original, not made using AI, and rated G/T. Alcoholic cocktail recipes will be published in a separate download.

Please have all recipes tested and all writing beta read before submitting them! You can find recipe testers and beta readers on our Discord.

It's time!

Hello again, witches and demons! Welcome to the third year of the Fic Exchange Coven!

From today until November 30th, signups will be open. You will be asked to provide a Tumblr URL, your pen name on fanfiction sites you use, and at least two prompt ideas for whoever draws your name to choose from. You can also offer a third prompt idea to give your fic exchange writer an extra idea to consider. If more than one idea appeals to you, you may combine them.

The prompts can be vague (fluff with Luz and Amity), or a bit more specific (Luz meets Raine on her first day in the Boiling Isles instead of Eda). Please keep your prompts rated T at maximum; prompts rated M or E are prohibited.

There will also be a section asking what you are okay with writing (certain characters, relationships, and/or genres), and what you are not okay with writing (certain characters, relationships, and/or triggers).

Signups will close immediately after the 30th, at which point I will send out fic assignments. You will then have to write a fic using at least one of your assignment's desired prompts. Posting week begins on December 25th and ends at midnight on January 1st.

Please give me a notice if you will be late due to emergency circumstances like a family emergency or other crisis, then you will have until January 10th to post.

In terms of length, I ask that your fic have a minimum of 1,000 words.
