Literally what I just thought after watching new TADC episode
I don’t think he likes it guys
fifteenth doctor study (i love him)
in the back of the club observing gender relations
[zero drinks in on a Wednesday night] Do you think the shame and fear ever go away . Would yuo like to kill me
☄️✨
Do you sometimes think the Doctor‘s so torn up about Rose’s absence that they just…sprinkle in reminders of her throughout the universe?
Like I remember the popular headcanon, back in the day, about the Rosette Nebula being formed because the Doctor was just missing Rose a lot.
Now, I can’t help but think of all the possible Rose themed mementos strewn across time and space. They probably mean nothing to the average person but for the people who know…well🥲
The Rosette Nebula, captured with a DECam, NOIRLab USA
(There was also another pic of a rose-like nebula going around, that one wasn’t a real-life nebula though, as far as I remember)
the way it looks like her bad wolf energy too…
happy forever, everybody
Me, tears streaming down my face, sobbing, as I stare at the stars: it’s just so beautiful
The medieval peasant I went back in time to give a bag of Doritos to, concerned: what terrible and powerful sorcerers they must have in your age, to be able to veil the vault of heaven itself from view, as you say
Me, sniffling: I didn’t realize, I can’t, it’s so much, I, I… are the chips good, at least?
Medieval peasant, trying to make me feel better: they’re… magical, strange traveler
Forever.
so much to see in such little time.
one day I woke up and realised all the waiting and yearning was actually me living my life and it’s happening right now and it’s still good even if it’s not perfect and there is no moment when all your dreams get fulfilled and everything makes sense. like… this is it. this is life. you’ll waste away your youth waiting for some imagined future if you don’t love life for what it is now and make the most of it

"tenth doctor not wanting to regenerate = whiny and conceited" imagine you have (as far as you know) 13 lives. members of your species can live over 1200 years in one body before needing a new one. and you don't even last one DECADE. and not only that, but you spent most of your ridiculously short life being miserable and borderline (or just straight up) manic. the doctor never got to enjoy being their tenth incarnation because he didn't live long enough to get the chance. who wouldn't be sad? who wouldn't be angry?
One thing I love about Takin' Over the Asylum (1994) that I think gets massively overlooked is just how clearly you can see what would one day become the Tenth Doctor in David's performance. At 23! Eleven years before he would even take over the role - years before either Chris Eccleston OR Paul McGann would take over the role!
That one scene where Campbell fakes a manic episode to avoid being discharged is such a precursor to the Tenth Doctor, it's insane. It's a well-acted, fast-talking, urgent gibberish-used- to-distract-and-disarm version of David that we have since come to recognize from his tenure on Doctor Who and looking back, it's so obvious. They didn't know it at the time because it hadn't happened yet, but from our vantage point TOTA is a clear and pivotal step toward what would one day become David's most famous, most serendipitous, and most beloved role, and thus everything else that followed.
I think Takin' Over the Asylum is the first major milestone in David's career, not because it was a more popular show than other things he'd done before, but because it is the foundation of who he is as an actor - the energy, the enthusiasm, the full-on commitment to a scene - on which everything else was built. Without Campbell Bain there is no Ten, there is no Hamlet, there is no Alec, there is no Kilgrave, and there is no Crowley. Just think of Macbeth screaming and howling on the floor in front of Banquo's ghost - those seeds were planted with Campbell.
And then there's that magic, that spark, that David-Tennantness that no other actor can match - it was in him from the beginning and Takin' Over the Asylum lets us see it early on, that first glimpse of who he is, and who he was going to become. No one says lines like he does, no one shares the same physicality or propensity for standing on furniture like he does. The Tennantisms that I've never seen anyone - professional or amateur - successfully impersonate. It's there, you can see it.
The Tenth Doctor is a cultural icon, his portrayal legendary, his contribution to the series unmatched, beloved and critically acclaimed, and I think David had it in him back in 1994.
my things for shinobi at the good omens holiday exchange last year yooo
i noticed she was fond of rose so i tried to include her!! but then i forgot she probably never encountered the weeping angels lol… my excuse is that it’s doctor who so like… what! continuity??! hahahaha (cries)
i will ALWAYS reblog the doctor who/good omens art that PRE-DATES TENNANT AS CROWLEY
imagine 9 bigenerating into 10 tho. first reaction wouldn't be wtf is happening why'd this twink just spawn out of me. no. he'd turn around, see that the big eyed twink in question is wearing his leather jacket, and so he'd grab a spanner, start slapping 10 repeatedly saying "give. that. back"
I just wanna tell you you were fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. And you know what? So was I.
Next time I decide to do a multi-sentence Gallifreyan art, somebody punch me
