Summary: Mo goes with Ari to help her get through the Unforgivable Curses

Mo:

“That’s true,” he agreed, not wanting to push.  She was obviously more than a little uncomfortable with what happened– everyone supporting this insanity would argue that was “to be expected”– but she was also a Snake, and therefore determined not to show weakness.  One of the trickier aspects about being a Slytherin, in his mind– everyone trying to keep their cards close to the chest.  Even himself for some things.  “Although I didn’t figure you wouldn’t be– X wouldn’ta let it get that far.”  His eyes flickered down to her arm though, where a spell– his spell– had grazed her.  Had hurt her.  He was surprised she was willing to even be near him right now– hadn’t he promised to protect her, support her?  And instead he’d attacked her– pathetically incapable of overcoming the curse.

“If you think,” he replied with a light laugh.  “Yeah, like always.”  His mind whirred with furious insults and accusations at the older man– what gave him the right to make the choices like this?  If Mo didn’t know better, he’d argue that X might be under the Imperius Curse himself, lowering his morals to do such a thing with no explanation, no effort to come up with another solution.  It made him burn internally with righteous anger.  Her question brought him back to the present.  “Oh– just, last minute stuff.  You know, before exams and everyone takes off and forgets all of it.”  Like how the hell they were going to protect kids they’d just psychologically damaged for life; how they were going to teach them to protect themselves when all the man had done was expose them to the monstrosities they might face; how close to producing child soldiers the school was getting in the TA’s mind.  But he kept his tone light, casual– because as much as he hated today, he still trusted the man, and he wouldn’t dampen that faith in his brothers and sisters– or any of the other students here.  They needed to stand together if they were going to win the coming war.  “Why?  You hoping for some hints about finals then, Viper?” he teased as he nudged her lightly.

Ariana:

Shaking her head and giving a slight shrug, Ariana chuckled “I mean... getting a head start or some secrets on finals wouldn’t be such a bad thing” she joked back. The fact that she was joking at all was kind of shocking for herself. She wasn’t really sure what to really be thinking right now. But they were almost to the dorms so she had to save face at least until she got into the privacy of her room. 

Now having reached the dungeons now, Ari stood there with one arm folded over the other, covering where she’d been hit with Mo’s curse. It still burned a little but nothing she couldn’t probably sleep off. “Thanks for doing this with me.” she said softly “Even though it did get a little out of hand, I appreciate you sticking it out for me. It was... definitely a learning experience” she nodded, and softly smiled at him.

That works too. I guess it was just easier for me because I had a good experience here, despite the past few years. I could see most people who were directly involved wanting to forget them though. There’s no rule that says you have to miss this place, it just so happens that I do.

Kinda good to hear– I wondered how many Snakes had seen me walking around in the buff after various Day After shenanigans.  Wouldn’ta wanted to ruin another bloke for someone, eh?  But I am definitely not gonna be worrying about my physique, love.  I know you do, Ars– it’s why it works on you.  I’m glad you think so– I believe in Fate, sure as Merlin, but sharing a line with it sounds intense.

I believe I said I might be physically incapable of keeping up– not that I’d be shirking from responsibility.  Or if I didn’t, I sure as hell meant it.  

Oh– yeah.  Didn’t think o’ that.  Yeah– not a literal crawl– well, like you said, maybe at the end there when you can’t stumble ‘round any more.  But really, it’s just a walking migration from pub to pub getting completely pissed.  It’s a great night out, because you get a lotta different stuff going on, you know? Karaoke Pub, Sports Pub, Ladies Night Pub– the whole gamut, eh?

Ugh, how did we become so opposite when it comes to the male species.

If you say so... I mean I’m not knocking either of them because my opinion on the two still stands but if you truly want to believe theres a huge difference and Hugo is better I’ll let you.
