So stupid when a piece of fiction impacts your identity. Like ok bitcj. It worked. Now what.
I still love this website so much because it feels like the last connection we have to an internet that doesnât exist anymore like I can come on here and scroll through posts that are literally just funny or beautiful or interesting with no intention to sell me something or influence me we are all just here for a laugh. Nothing is just for laughs anymore EXCEPT tumblr dot com
The way everything is so expensive and it's not even good đ
the visceral reaction I am having even several days later. these six words hurt in a way I will never recover from
That scene where Victoire knew she couldn't stay in England because Letty would kill her because Victoire's existence means Letty is wrong about her beliefs. UGH.
My heart will never not break when thinking about the significance of Robin's name in Babel. From the beginning until the very last page of the book, the way Kuang so beautifully yet tragically portrayed his journey is brilliant. [Spoilers ahead]
During his last moments,it wasn't the Robin who was brave enough to bring about a revolution and go against everything he was made to believe in. He was no hero. He was that young boy from Canton who wanted nothing but his mother to recover. I will never get over this book.
I donât think Iâve seen anyone mention this but rf kuangâs naming of Victorie in Babel is just genius??? Victorie is derived from the Latin word for âvictoryâ, and at the end of the novel, she was the only one to survive the rebellion out of the three of them. Her name alone carries the implication that the revolution was successful despite her and Robinâs worries, as she rides out in âvictoryâ. This is such a smooth and unnoticeable reassurance that the novel did not end on a cliff-hanger, but rather and strong and positive reaffirmation.
after everything, afterall, iâm most astonished at the audacity of letty calling robin âbirdie.â
thatâs ramyâs word, not hers. but she uses it knowingly. she knows the power of words, of language, of translation, and yet sheâs choosing to steal a word thatâs not hers, a word that has meaning and history and love, a word that not even victoire dared use bc she knew it wasnât hers, that it belonged to ramy and robin alone, all for her own advantage.
she used it time and time again without permission. she used it while ignoring all protests because she sees language as a tool to use, a weapon to wield. all to get ahead. lettyâs another cog in the apparatus of white colonialism, exploiting that which doesnât belong to her.

Bestie I can feel rejected by things you wouldnât even think of
Itâs wild seeing people go âokay itâs clearly Stockholm syndromeâ to freed hostages thanking Hamas, saying goodbye and smiling/waving to Hamas as the IOF takes them and then also Israel keeping hostages under tight media supervision and advising them not to speak on their experiences when in actuality what probably happened was during this time the captives learned closely the the propaganda of their government that paints Hamas and Palestinians more broadly as monsterous subhumans wasnât true. You canât deny that hostages have consistently reported they were treated well and that the real fear was from the constant bombardments.
Comparing that with Palestinian captives being released after years of torture and abuse, some unable to even recognize their families, mothers crying over the lost years with their children, all of them detailing the horrors they face AND the fact that israel is keeping the bodies of those who died during imprisonment to finish out their sentence, them telling release children that they will be back, banning celebrations and expressions of joy in public at the release of captives as âsupporting terroristsâ
Idk just the more you see the more warped everything is.
Gonna bring this up
A 23-year-old bank teller caught up in a siege inspired the psychological term Stockholm syndrome. But 50 years later, experts say Kristin's
Exactly the idea that people are using a debunked misogynistic copaganda instead of facing the truth is wild
Please stop seeing politics as an identity and start seeing it as a collective means for change
What We Do in the Shadows is THE most show ever. Hands down. It's about a polycule. There's barely a plot. The lore is both intricate and contradictory. The characters serve cunt 24/7. It's been five seasons and they've gotten nowhere. It has a budget of $5. No one kisses on screen but they fuck nasty at least once per season. Doug Jones is in it. It's based on the most pirated movie of 2014.
