what if instead of being under the impression that Darth Vader killed his father someone told Luke that Vader killed his mother and then Luke hit him w that accusation in the middle of their confrontation and Vader just started crying

I love the woman I see in the mirror.
Growing up I’ve always hated my appearance, to the point where I compulsively avoided looking at mirrors or taking pictures of my face because it just made me feel gross and trapped in a body that wasn’t mine.
Today, at 24 years old, was the first time I actually Looked at myself. Not just quickly checking to see if I needed to shave or had a pimple or whatever, but looked at myself just to look.
Today, I actually saw myself in the mirror. Not a depressed teenage boy, or a tired, scared young woman, but Me.
If you had told me even a year ago that there would be a day where I wasn’t filled with self loathing, I wouldn’t have believed it. I had almost come to accept that I would never feel deserving of love and happiness, and I put up with embarrassing amounts of neglect and abuse because of it. I lost friends because I didn’t know how to care about myself.
I still have a lot of work to do, but I know I can put in the work. Because I am worth the effort.
If you’re reading this and you relate at all, I want you to know that you are worth the effort too. It’s hard to believe before you’re ready to accept it, but there will come a day where you look in the mirror and see someone you love. I hope that day is closer than you think.
