Lol im a Indra Otsutsuki fanatic so since you've been so kind to agree to answer the asks, here i go! :D How would Indra react if his s/o were ignoring him because he hurt them with his words? Would he be the kind to even notice it and apologise or not?
Thank you kindly for the ask! I will let you know that I do not know Indra that well, so please let me know what you think of my interpretation of him for these headcanons!
Indra Otsutsuki Reacting to His S/O HimThem After Saying Something Hurtful
Okay. So, my understanding is that he is a little more on the cold and calculated side of things. Head before heart. And not to mention, he has a lot on his plate and he has a lot of negative influences in his life, so saying something hurtful is inevitable. My time frame for this headcanon is that Asura has just been named successor and this is the aftermath.
You are one of the only good things currently happening in his life, he still loves his dad and brother at the moment, but deep down he does feel betrayed. Everyone thought it would be him that was the successor, he thought it too and all the pieces lined up perfectly. But then, all the pieces fell apart and now he was stuck suppressing his bitterness and trying to be the peace-keeper and the better man and be there for his brother. However, some of his rage slipped out and it was angeled at you and it was not pretty.
You two would be walking around the forest, enjoying each other’s company, but you would notice something is wrong. Indra is off by a tiny bit, but it’s still affecting the mood of the date.
You would ask, “What’s wrong?” - he did not tell you who was the heir yet, that news would break the following day.
He would say, “Nothing.” But you would press on more and more, ‘what’s wrong’, ‘what are you not telling me?’, you threw everything at him in an attempt to get him to pry open. But, what ended up happening is that every question made him angrier and angrier and he just snapped.
“Get. Off. My. Back. Good god, are you so dense that you have never heard of personal space?! I am fine! I don’t need the great Sait Y/n to solve my problems. Just get lost, go home.”
His whole outburst threw you into a loop. Of course, he was always reserved and a little distant, but he had never done anything like this before. Calling you stupid? Telling you to get lost? This is a first and it hurts like all first’s of this type should. So, you get lost, you go home, and you stay there.
News broke out of who the new heir was, you had heard, but that did not excuse Indra’s behavior. It explains it, but it did not excuse it. He could have opened up, he could have told you earlier because you are his s/o and you have built a very solid relationship. But no. He chose the difficult route instead. So you stayed home that day, reading, relaxing, and putting your boyfriend out of your mind.
Now, Indra fully expected you to come to him first. He is mature, but he has bigger fish to fry at the moment. He expected you to come up to him, hug him, tell him it was going to be alright, but you were nowhere to be seen. It hurts him, but he shrugs it off because why wouldn’t his s/o turn his back on him? His dad and brother already did it, so everyone else he loves should just follow suit.
You run into each other at what would be considered the market place and he tries engaging in conversation, but all he gets is a huff and a cold shoulder. He tried following you home and talking but nothing. He tries asking you on a date, nothing. He gets the door in his face.
It takes Indra 46 Hours, 45 Minutes, and 16 Seconds of pacing, stewing with his emotions, and memory retrieval to realize what happened. He’s slow to notice, but he notices and he feels awful. The peace in his life has been shifted and all he feels is discontent. He needs you to be with him and help balance his inner scales. You are supposed to be his rock, the highlight of the day, the highlight of everything! And he treated you like dirt.
He grabs your favorite flower - one from the trail you two walk through the most - and he knocks on your door. He is mature and logical, he has his apology memorized, editing any words that would make him slip up and come off as stupid or ditzy. He has two speeches planned as he anticipates your reactions,
You open the door and the speech starts. It is a LONG one, goodness gracious. And even though it is delivered in a political fashion, you know that Indra chooses his words carefully and the ones he used to apologize were ones that let you know he meant business and that he was truly sorry.
You accept the flowers, he comes in, makes you tea, and he spends the rest of the afternoon ranting to you and expressing himself in the appropriate way and you eventually cuddle him to make him and yourself feel at peace.
