If it pleases the court (TUA fandom), I would like to present evidence in the case of: Luther becomes a stripper in season four.
Exhibit A was innocuous in and of itself. Filming was locked down tight, as we are all painfully aware (God, please Steve, a crumb, we're starving), but I did have a few nights of fevered stalking and came across this casting call:
Okay, cool. Could be anything. Interesting, but nothing telling.
Then came the Exhibit B: the promo photos! And, of course, their accompanying emojis:
We all seemed to agree that these emojis were season tidbits. Luther season one: The moon, baby. Season two: bare knuckle brawling under the name King Kong. Season three: married. Season four:....uh? Disco era?
No, no, my dearest of friends. I suggest that dancing is less Boogie Nights and much more Thunder Down Under.
Finally, Exhibit C: the teaser trailer, really solidified it for me.
First, we have the spacesuit, which is likely supposed to make us think he's literally going back into space. But behold! That helmet has no actual glass:
Not ideal in the unforgiving vacuum of space.
Seeing this, I was sure Luther was gracing us with at least one tearaway this season. My only hope was that they would call him Space Boy.
And lo and behold:
God bless us, every one.
So, there you have it. I submit to the court that Number One "Luther" Hargreeves has fully and joyfully embraced his new bod. And for a $20 lap dance, so can you.
Bonus! The himbo twins look like they're going undercover together and Diego ends up shirtless, wearing only cuffs:
Which, of course, brings to mind Exhibit A: casting call for a Chippendale-type. Kinda like:
Diego: I don't have a suit.
Luther: I gotchu.
what the emojis might mean (inferring from the teaser)
luther: 🕺 in the trailer, we see Luther at a party, in a ballpit (Luther Dashcon era?), and in an astronaut outfit. Someone mentioned that his name tag at one point says “Fred”. Could be perhaps be employed as a children’s party entertainer? Or a dancer?
diego: 📦 ok I’m not sure what this means. In the trailer he’s at a kids party (his daughter’s?) and he owns a van. Potentially delivery driver vibes?
allison: 🧑🧒 this one is obvious. She’s mother and probably reunited with Claire since that was her goal the whole time in S3.
klaus: 🧽 Either he works cleaning something or he became a huge germaphobe after his powers were reversed - in the teaser he wears a mask and gloves too.
five: 🕵️♂️ investigation!! He may be investigating how to go back to the OG timeline, or whatever was happening in the subway.
ben: 🔒 in the teaser he was coming out of somewhere with a paper bag. In the promo poster, one of the subway/time lines has a point reading “Ben is released”. Maybe from some kind of a facility? At the end of season 3 he was on a metro/train iirc.
viktor: 🍺 in the teaser it looks like he’s a bartender, so this is pretty easy to figure out.
lila: 🍼 this one is quite obvious too, Lila is mother & just had a child. Although the teaser I think reveals that Allison and Lila are going to go through something together?
reginald: 🧠 maybe a reference to how the whole universe is basically his brainchild and creation, or a reference to the “Hargreeves Home for Wayward Boys”? Which would also by extension be from his mind.
what do you guys think about the emojis?? Some of them are really cryptic but some are very simple.
im so serious when i say disliking sam is an immediate red flag. what is there to dislike. what has he ever done
Okay so Viktor’s blasts are orange
Five’s jumps are purple
And Ben became doctor octopus??!! (Tentacles coming from his back instead of his stomach??)
I have so many questions

Summary:
And then, suddenly, it was all over. He fell to the ground, briefcases flung next to him… he heard footsteps hurrying toward him from inside. The door flung open, and two figures stood there - his mother and… “Welcome home, Number Five,” said Pogo. Time Travel/Watching The Show fix-it fic based on this concept.

alright, since quite a few people liked my idea for a fic (which im calling the disenchanted au for now), what platform would you read it on?
?
ao3 (on an anonymous account)
tumblr
both/either
other (tell me what though!)
please lmk your thoughts and questions about this in general, my ask box and messages are open :)
I have a concept for a watch the show fic but I feel like it’s very. Uh. Is there an audience for stuff like that? Anyways I’ll tell you guys the basic plot haha
basically, when five is plotting his leaving the commission, the final time, he goes exploring the HQ where he finds a “records room” - one of these sections (either under A for Apocalypse or H for Hargreeves) is a set of discs with the episodes on them which the commission is keeping for further reference. He takes these and leaves, and instead of fighting the family he sits them down and they all watch it. It would be interspersed with canon-adjacent fighting with commission members and visits from the Handler, obviously, because five stole from the commission (so I basically want to add some plot to it) but otherwise it may be a bit cliché and overdone… would anyone like to actually read smth like that?
