I removed the text from the end credit artwork!
Thank you for everything camp fam. From the bottom of my heart - thank you
This was the most beautiful adventure I could have ever dreamt of
Does it ever drive you crazy
Just how fast the night changes?
I like how real they got with Ben's injury in season 4 but it also makes it blaringly obvious that they used heavy plot armor on Yaz in season 2, because she'd 100% have a severe concussion by getting hit with the dino tail. But also... if they wanted her to be left behind, they didn't really need to hit her?
Like in the books, she just hides. In reality, they could have had her have a panic attack or an anxiety attack related to the dino and hippo fight (would have been a nice flash to CC season 4's Big Eatie and Pierce fight), and have her freeze, hiding, and getting left there while she tries to calm down. Then we could have seen the "non-linear healing" that we got teased about, but didn't really get to see.
IDK, it just feels odd that the two injuries aren't... balanced? Like yes Yaz's thing is a common inaccuracy (the harmless knockout trope) It does something weird for me, like in cartoons there is "cartoon physics" but usually that is consistant, something about the two injuries makes them feel super inconsistant.
by the way i don't think i'll ever be over how much the camp fam hug each other
your honor, their little dance moves â€ïž
gosh golly i wonder what they're looking at..... guess you'll have to watch the show to find out!
how the JWCC/JWCT characters would swear
CW, swearing (no shit /hj) as in, the swear words are said. i know (??) there are kids here so, if swearing makes you uncomfortable, please scroll past :)
Darius:
mrs Bowman (Simone) did not raise him to swear. Brand taught him the cuss words and Simone got mad at him when seven year old Darius randomly yelled âSHIT!â when he dropped something
was a literal kid in camp cretaceous, so he was partially scared to swear, partially wanted to do so anyway to Fit In With The Older Kids
the result was swearing in the worst moments. someone confesses something bad that happened to them and Darius says, completely genuinely, âwow, iâm so fucking sorry that happened to youđ„â and Kenji laughs so hard because he did not use it in the right context
by the time the camp fam get back to the mainland though he is better at swearing in the right places. he has not said fuck since the island and he swears he wonât
chaos theory however has him cursing his mouth off, usually only when heâs alone. still will never say the fuck word
also calls people a dickhead a lot (he picked it up from Brooklynn since itâs a word more commonly said in britain)
said one (1) fuck word offscreen in season 4 and the camp fam all went :OÂ
Brooklynn:
swears like a brit (cos of all the time she spent in london and i headcanon one of her dads is british)
the other group tease her for saying shit like âwankerâ âtwatâ âbloodyâ as well as some words the others havenât even heard of (wtf does bollocks/bugger/minger/bellend even mean)
however the joke is on the other campers when they call someone annoying a âbloody bastard twatâ when they get back to the states and their parents look at them like đ€š
regular cunt user (and cunt server)
says bitch [reclaimed] a lot
Sammy:
refuses to swear
instead sheâll spit out every damn/darn/heck alternative imaginable
or start complaining in Spanish
the camp fam have heard her swear one (1) time and it was something like âwhat the fuck is wrong with [insert villain of the day, probably d*niel k*n]â or when Kenjiâs not-father died and Sammy first heard the news, she whispered a discreet âfuck himâ and Kenji momentarily felt better
Yaz:
swears like an absolute sailor but only around her friends
when things are not going their way she will probably start swearing at a tree or something. everyone stands in mostly fear and trepidation except Ben, who is mentally making notes of all the new words sheâs giving him
when the camp fam meet Yazâs mother, Yaz doesnât swear At All around her and it unnerves them (her mum is fine with her cussing a bit (sheâs earned it bfr) but Yaz prefers not to)
her use of âwhat the fuckâ got so out of hand that the others started a swear jar exclusive to Yaz saying that phrase which got her to cool it a bit
swears less in chaos theory; sheâs learned to keep it in her head
Kenji:
was raised not to swear because it âtarnishes the kon family nameâ
of course, Kenji proceeded to swear whenever his dad was out of earshot in every other sentence
he went through that annoying era where people think itâs cool to say fuck every other word a year or so before camp cretaceous
has learned to moderate his level of swearing but will still drop an occasional âoh shitâ or âfuck thisâ
canonically says stuff like âweâre cooked!â but would also say âwell weâre fuckedâ when the campers come across a sticky situation
when brainrot words became a thing he was all over brainrot words for a solid week. someone would put something silly on their group chat and Kenji would reply âum what the sigma đ€âïžâ to be annoying. Yaz gives him three strikes and then boots him from the group chat
says heâs serving kont a LOT. he put it on a t shirt and wears it all the time
Ben:
terrified of swearing before camp cretaceous and all throughout season 1. one of the others says fuck or shit and he visibly flinches
however post jungle boy transformation, he says fuck easily, most predominantly âFUCK YEAH BABY!â when heâs exploded something
the first time he said fuck around the other campers, they all turned to look at him like đČ and he just grins and says, âiâm a changed manâ
goes back to the mainland with so much new vocabulary, he accidentally drops a swear bomb around his mother and she gasps so loud
Roxie:
swears very sparingly (in theory. in practise she curses her mouth off at about 70% of minor inconveniences)
will NOT swear around the camp fam (they overhear her anyway and giggle)
does Not like the word bitch
regular fuck/shit user
uses the word cunt very rarely. when she says that, everyone knows sheâs SERIOUSLY pissed
British swearwords used on max. twat, wanker, bloody, bellend, etc etc
Dave:
swears surprisingly little. when he curses everyone knows shitâs bad
goes straight from âaw darn itâ to âFUCKâ with no middle ground at all
Mae:
legally cannot swear. the worst she says is âcrapâ and âbloodyâ
wonât even say those words around the camp fam, even though they all swear like sailors. she doesnât mind them doing it, she just wonât do it herself
she believes she articulates herself best when she doesnât swear
Ronnie:
says âget your ass back over hereâ and stuff like that a lot at work
mumbles âshitâ when sheâs frustrated. itâs her favourite swear word
sparingly uses her daily allowance of one (1) fuck word
tries not to curse around kids but has definitely slipped up once or twice
tells misbehaving dinos to âshut your ass up!
wonât swear around Darius because in her eyes thatâs still a Child
thank you @br00k1ynns-wif3 for helping me with this section! :D
Soyona:
swears pretty frequently but never in a professional context with people sheâs equal to
people she sees as inferior, however, she will call a âfucking idiotâ
canonically says âcock it upâ and âbastardâ
also uses British words. uses âbloodyâ for emphasis, calls people âtwatsâ and âbellendsâ (canât see her saying wanker, itâs too informal)
regular âfuckâ user when sheâs frustrated
Handler:
never swears. donât ask why. she canât be wasting her 10 words a day on swearing
What did the various story teams do on "Jurassic World: Chaos Theory"? Were they assigned different episodes or different characters? Was there any inter-team rivalry?
Woops sorry if this was sent a while ago
But to answer the questions-
1) what did the various story teams do? - there were 3 Story Teams on JWCT (internally referred to as Team 1[Team Ankylosaurus], Team 2 [Team Raptor], and Team 3 [Team Pteranadon]). Each Team consisted of a Director, 3 Storyboard artists, and a Story Revisionist.
Once a Team would finish an episode, we'd then pass on the episode to our Supervising Director and Producers, Editors, and a Lock Revisionist to work on the very final animatic before sending it off to animation. This was our "Locke/Shipping" animatic (and no, not Shipping like that lol). That last animatic typically tended to last minute notes, timing/editing adjustments, and tweaks to acting.
2) Were they (the teams) assigned to different episodes or different characters? - All the episodes were split up between all 3 teams (team 1 took ep 1, Team 2 on ep 2, etc). That said, and this was up to the directors and board artists' discretion, certain board artists have certain interests, strengths, and affinities, so directors may hand specific board artists specific types of scenes that may/may not overlap with certain characters (like if I recall correctly, @tio-trile would often get a lot of dino-related sequences, so I remember complaining about never getting to really draw gia lol, and @natamouche-art getting a lot of Pyro, smoothie, and scar scenes like brooklynn running from red in ss2)
3) Was there any inter-team rivalry?
Jiedi and Josh No of course not!!! We were all peaceful and well adjusted. :]
ummm actually đ€âïž team 3 was team raptor and team 2 was pteranodon
I FOCKED UP!!!! """""""
Ok, as promised...the meme posts begin
I present to you Mr.Rightosaurus himself, Blender the Ankylosaurus
every writing tip article and their mother: dont ever use adverbs ever!
me, shoveling more adverbs onto the page because i do what i want: just you fucking try and stop me
May I add something, because I will never shut up about this book (Writing Tools by Roy Peter Clark):
Finally, some good fucking advice
[Image Description]
Two highlighted selections from the referenced book. They read:
To understand the difference between a good adverb and a bad adverb, consider these two sentences: âShe smiled happilyâ and She smiled sadly". Which one works best? The first seems weak because âsmiledâ contains the meaning of âhappilyâ. On the other hand, âsadlyâ changes the meaning.
Remember the song âKilling Me Softlyâ? Good adverb. How about âKilling Me Fiercelyâ? Bad adverb.
Look also for weak verb-adverb combinations that you can revise with stronger verbs: âShe went quickly down the stairsâ can become âshe dashed down the stairs.â âHe listened surreptitiouslyâ can become âHe eavesdropped.â Give yourself a choice.

The rest of the thread is here.
tl;dr: Donât monetize AO3, kids. You wonât like what happens next.
read this thread. this is by far the most concise explanation of a lot of different issues that iâve seen in fandom spaces in a while. cosigning both the linked thread and the thread about aus/uk/can law thatâs linked in-thread.
AHDHXHEBSG TWITTER WRITERS DID WHAT NOW???? AND PEOPLE PAID THEM????
If someone has never taken a class that includes copyright law, they may not know this stuff, so I donât necessarily blame random people for not knowing what copyright is, but like⊠maybe just maybe itâs something that should be taught????
Just another reminder, because this always drives me crazy, but even if monetizing your fic was 100% unambiguously legal and protected, AO3 would still not let you do it because AO3 was founded and is supported by people like me who want a fandom community that is completely divested from making money off of fic.
Yes, this. Lots of fanworks on AO3 are unambiguously legal. Fics based on Shakespeare plays and fairy tales and Greek mythology and The Great Gatsby and your original character from your D&D game are not violations of copyright, because no copyright applies to those things.
AO3 still doesnât let you monetize those things on the site, because we donât want the site to be commercial! Because thatâs not what itâs for!
Itâs not there for you (generic you) to make money off the efforts of the people who build and maintain the site for free! We arenât getting paid for the work we do to give you a nice site to use, just like you arenât getting paid for the work you do to create whatever art you share there. Because fandom is supposed to be a community where we share with each other, and therefore we all benefit.
The deal is, we give you a free, stable, safe platform to host your works. In exchange, you get a site that isnât covered in ads and tip jars and links to gofundme and âread the next chapter at my patreonâ. You get one goddamn place on the internet that isnât trying to make money off you. And we will defend that space and keep it non-commercial.
Signs of a heart attack are different for each gender yet we only really teach the male warning signs. Make sure youâre aware of both and spread it to as many other women as possible!
EVERY SINGLE TIME I HAVE TAKEN A CPR CLASS I have had to be that person who points out that the training videos ALWAYS frame the âmaleâ symptoms as the default universal heart attack experience, while the âfemaleâ symptoms are framed as though theyâre a deviation from the norm, rather than the primary symptom set that cis women experience.Â
ALSO: I just showed this post to my roommate, who is an MD at a clinic that specializes in care for the LGBT community in the Baltimore area. I asked her whether hormones were responsible for the difference in the âmale/femaleâ symptom arrays. I asked how that would apply to her trans patients (which, she treats a LOT of trans patients). She said, basically, that the longer youâve taken testosterone the more likely you are to get the intense chest pressure and the arm pain, versus the upper back pressure and shortness of breath.
Obviously I am not a doctor myself, consult your own health care provider, etc.
Reblogging this comment because this is the FIRST TIME Iâve ever seen someone address what XYZ medical condition would look like in trans patients. Also this is partly why my great-grandma died: the (male) doctor dismissed her heart attack as basically indigestion, because she didnât have the typical male symptoms.
Oh my God someone was able to answer the trans patient question!
just my humble attempt at raging against the machine
i made a follow up! if this blows up, pls remember it is illegal to be mean to me. and i am a small artist you can give money to btw ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ
the physical media depicted: lucky leaves by krill, worry by jeff rosenstock, self titled by babytooth. i love to tiny doodle album covers :)
After seeing the Howlâs Moving Castle musical I am a changed person and I never want to see fanart of Sophie Hatter as thin and white ever again.Â
If you werenât aware that there was a Howlâs Musical, here ya go. Go throw money at this production company and hope they release an album or a recording because the show was honestly fucking perfect. We were in the front row and all five of us flailed so hard that the cast thanked us specifically âfor our enthusiasm and energyâ after the show.Â
This Sophie, played by Seattle actress Sara Porkalob, is your new god.Â
She has micro-expressions down to an absolute art and the best comedic timing Iâve ever personally witnessed. She exists and was the perfect Sophie and now you know. Youâre welcome.
Sidenote but the night we saw it Howl was wearing a NEON PINK WIG and SPRAY PAINTED SILVER JEANS for almost the entire show and NO ONE will ever be a better Howl tbh.
And Lettie and Martha were also great! The entire cast was great! Their physicality on stage was unbelievable!! The writing was superb!!! I can never see another musical as long as I live because of how perfect this one was!!!!!
Youâre welcome.Â
THERE ARE PICTURES
I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT ALL OF THIS
I LOVE EVERYONE INVOLVED WITH THIS BEAUTIFUL EVENT
I want this badly
According to the notes some of the songs are on Justin Huertasâ YouTube channel, theyâre the one who wrote the musical.
Seattle-based actor, musician, playwright, and singer-songwriter. đ¶đžđ Writer of musicals LIZARD BOY, WE'VE BATTLED MONSTERS BEFORE, HOWL'S M
Bless you for checking the notes. Also: there was a second production of this in winter â19-â20 with some minor rewrites (mostly adding a perfect show closing reprise for my third favorite song from the show which is about cake). If Justin gets enough traction on patreon and YouTube there might be an album at some point! (And maybe a third production???!!!?)
Please please please donât just reblog this post but also go check out the YouTube channel and give the songs some more views. Itâs worth it the songs are amazing. And I desperately want more people to watch the current videos so Justin will finally finally release a recording of the best song from the show (itâs the witchâs solo and itâs Amazing).
Also before someone asks my second favorite song is the love theme Sophie sings when howl gifts her the flower shop and itâs fucking beautiful.
okay thereâs also the song sung by the cursed dog man hybrid which is actually deeply moving and incredibly beautiful.
Hey yâall this post is getting notes again so do me a favor and reblog this version instead.
So very sadly, bookit theater, which produced and housed both runs of this musical and had been in Seattle for over 40 years, was not able to survive the pandemic and sell enough tickets to stay open after lockdowns were lifted. They announced they were shutting down this summer. Iâm personally pretty bummed about it.
But if you want to support this musical PLEASE check out Justin Huertasâ YouTube channel and patreon. Let him know that his work in creating this musical is appreciated.
I am still holding out hope that heâll be able to get this show produced again, maybe in a workshop or something.
Also I want to add a story from viewing this show in person.
My friends and I attended both of these productions dressed in the most over the top thematically appropriate outfits we could manage. We were in the front row and it was a small theater and we were Enthusiastic audience members to say the least, cheering, laughing, getting into it. And when the witch of the waste took the stage to deliver her extremely powerful theme song, we lost it. This woman was eating this song, an absolute powerhouse, fucking spectacular performance.
(Justin has still yet to post this song on YouTubeâŠ..Where is the witchâs song JustinâŠ..let me hear it againâŠâŠâŠ)
When the cast came out to the lobby after the show we found the witchâs actress to complement her and she recognized us from our very enthusiastic cheering and thanked us for being her coven for the evening, which is a complement I hold dearly.
Anyway, here are some of the fantastic songs from the show I mentioned above, usually featuring at least one cast member from one of the runs:
Early book sophie wishing she was a different person.
Newly cursed Sophie enjoying the start of her adventure and finding freedom in being cursed.
Sophieâs sisters explaining their scheme to switch places. This is a song about cake and it goes Extremely hard. The second run of this show added a reprise of this song at the end. Standing ovation.
Sophie reacting to the field of flowers gifted by Howl (this song made me cry in person). Sung by Sara Porkalob, original Sophie!
And last but not least, a song from the point of view of the cursed dog man mashup that is Extremely beautiful.
Holy shit how did I miss this when it was playing in Seattle. I may cry.
Upon checking the instragram shared, it looks like the bookit theater was able to catch up to the finances and is reopening so maybe a third run is an option? (Source: https://www.instagram.com/bookitrep/p/DKAwqkmzPje/ may 23, 2025)
Yes! Book-It is back!
Huh, so it is. Kind of.
(REBLOG THIS VERSION OF THE POST INSTEAD PLEASE!!!!)
After seeing these additions I checked with my seattle local friends and apparently, they had to sell the theater that bookit housed its productions in, and in order to make bookit viable this time around, they have to limit it to one or two productions a year total, and they will be housed in different theaters around seattle in partnership with other theater companies.
Which is an improvement for sure! But because theyâre doing limited runs, I think if we want to ever see this show staged again, or for Justin Huertas to release an album version, we NEED to make sure that Justin knows people appreciate his work.
This post has well over 20k notes and some of the videos I linked above have like 7 comments. Or less.
Can we please show the artist behind this fabulous work some appreciation y'all?
And then let bookit know through social media that youâd like them to bring back Howlâs Moving Castle for a third run.
