Never get discouraged when chasing your dreams.
Best part is the background commentary from the other seventh graders:
Student 1: How does he do that???
Student 2, in a bored tone: he’s gay, he can do anything 🙄

This goes for violins and any other stringed instrument as well

hi i came back from twitter and now im a general music teacher and orchestra teacher
orchestral relationship dynamics that i like
-when the 1st violins and cellos have a lyrical melody together (you know…with the cellos shifted up) -the boom - chick rhythms between 2nd violins and violas (and basses too!) -when viola and cello sections have a melody feature!! -the knowing stare of everyone in the orchestra when in rehearsal the conductor has to work with only the 1st violins -when 1st and 2nd violins have similar melody parts but the 2nds are rocking a cool sounding harmony -the viola, cello, and bass section when they have rhythmic parts that interact with each other
YES
also
- strings vs woodwind and brass (when they take turns, like question and answer)
- percussion and one solo instrument yass
- when the violas are literally the only ones doing their cool little things… and you can hear it over everyone else because it’s that awesome
I raise you
-STRINGS VS WOODWINDS VS BRASS - when there’s a bassoon melody and the clarinets play background -High strings supporting low strings instead of vice versa -when the strings play pizz and a wind gets the melody - strings playing runs and then BRASS OR LOW STRINGS PLAYS A SLOWER MELODY ON TOP -when a section is being featured and another section just CRASHES IN LIKE HEY I EXIST
yEs-adding a few personal faves if that’s ok -when the cellos have the tune and the violins answer -when flutes have little ornamental twiddly bits -when the brass suddenly come blasting out -wheb the french horn gets a solo -pizzicato in any form tbh -when the flutes and clarinets are kind of duetting with eachother -when you can hear the viola doing their cool viola stuff -when your conductor really gets into it -when your orchestra feels like a family (not in like a sappy way in a you know everyone and how they play their instrument? i don’t know i’m terrible at explaining lmao)
