Here's how you make noai.duckduckgo.com your default search engine so you don't have to toggle the filter on every time you do a search:

1) Make sure your Firefox is up to date.

2a) Go to the website and right click in the search field and select 'Add Search Engine' and confirm with 'Add Engine':

2b) Go into Firefox's settings and under Search, scroll down until you find the option to manually add a search engine:

And the URL you'll want to enter is https://noai.duckduckgo.com/?t=h_&q=%s

3) Either way, you will now have to scroll to the top of your Search settings in Firefox and then change your Default Search Engine to the one you just added.

As for other browsers... I don't have a clue, fuck Chrome in particular.

This filters out a good chunk of AI generated images and turns off duckduckgo's AI features, I do not know to what extent it actually filters out AI search results as duckduckgo is basically just bing+

i dont consider myself a 'fashion guru' by any means but one thing i will say is guys you dont need to know the specific brand an item you like is - you need to know what the item is called. very rarely does a brand matter, but knowing that pair of pants is called 'cargo' vs 'boot cut' or the names of dress styles is going to help you find clothes you like WAAAYYYY faster than brand shopping

this also goes for aesthetic or -core titles. 'y2k tank top' is going to get you resellers and fast fashion brands advertising to people looking to meet a current trend. 'thin strap crop tank top' is going to get you a diverse group of results and not upcharge you to hell and back

the basic rundown is: you use the search bar to enter a topic, scientific paper name or DOI. the website then offers you a list of papers on the topic, and you choose the one you're looking for/most relevant one. from here, it makes a tree diagram of related papers that are clustered based on topic relatability and colour-coded by time they were produced!

for example: here i search "human B12"

i go ahead and choose the first paper, meaning my graph will be based around it and start from the topics of "b12 levels" and "fraility syndrome"

here is the graph output! you can scroll through all the papers included on the left, and clicking on each one shows you it's position on the chart + will pull up details on the paper on the right hand column (title, authors, citations, abstract/summary and links where the paper can be found)

you get a few free graphs a month before you have to sign up, and i think the free version gives you up to 5 a month. there are paid versions but it really depends how often you need to use this kinda thing.
