Ok so since my first post on LHR, I have gotten 2 more treatments! I have my forth one in less than two weeks. As I mentioned before, it can take 6-8+ treatments to see the results you are aiming for. In other words, I have a while to go before I see my seeing my skin hair-free!!
(Yey! I took a picture of the machine!)
So here is what it looks like!
The white and gold apparatus is obviously the laser. It is slowly glided all around the treatment area. The black tube is air to cool down the skin as it is getting burned!
The second treatment was virtually painless, but I did have a few random spots where I felt a pinch. No enough to make me flinch though.
For the third treatment, they took the setting up a couple notches! It was definitely painful! The pain was not unbearable, but definitely not what I was expecting after the first two treatments! The areas around the ankles hurt the most! I would flinch! I kept being asked if I was okay. I can stand the pain, as long as I am getting results! I am only now afraid of how it is going to feel next time as I want them to keep the settings going up!
Above are some images of images of how my legs looked afterward during my drive home. I did not take pictures directly after my treatment at the clinic because I was packing on the aloe and sunscreen! As you can see there is some swelling, redness, and slight bleeding! OUCH! I do not think the bleeding is normal. I think I just have that spot because I popped an ingrown hair there and I guess the laser popped the wound!
Anyhoo, the aesthetician said that these are good signs! Although it looks crazy for a little while, all I was thinking was, “ Well I am sure I am going to see some really good results this time!!”
So here is what I noticed so far after a couple of treatments:
- My hair is taking longer to grow
- I have small bald patches on my underarms
- It hurts less to shave and often
-The hairs are thinner than normal
- They are less visible at a normal human distance!
Now I just have to keep going and I am hoping that I do not need 8+ treatments. What I do not like about this is that you have to wait 6 weeks minimum between treatments! I wish I could go every two weeks or something! HA!
old, needing to be spiced up...decluttered...etc..
OK so embarrassing story alert:
So this desk that you see here, I have had for a few years. My mother actually saw that my neighbor down the street was actually throwing this away and had it on the street for pick up. She decided we should take it for me and I had to help her! I had no choice in the matter so down the street I went. I am sure from the outside looking in, it looked pretty hilarious seeing two women under 5 feet hauling this desk down the road to my house! HAHA!
We cleaned it up and it came out to be quite functional! I have been having the urge to paint my furniture for a while now but never got around to it. I kept saying I will wait until I move or something but I got tired of waiting!
I started noticing this new fad of people painting their furniture with chalk paint or “chalky finish”. These paints are actually made with chalk in them and are easy to distress. There is also no need for sanding down the furniture first! I became so fascinated with this because I love the vintage looks of worn down wooden furniture with pretty colors! I decided it was now or never
(image from crafthaven.com) color-timeless
I wanted a color that looked almost ivory. I felt it would be a nice contrast to my bright blue wall color! I also had two frames over the desk with a similar color and an interesting finish that almost looked “wood-like” but was not wood! The frames also had a distressed gold lining within the frame. I wanted to match this style somehow!
So first things first. I am sure you already know to remove hardware first! Which is what I did. I originally wanted to replace all of the handles to something that looked more vintage but felt that could be costly. However, when I actually finished painting, I found that I like how they look way better on the finished product rather than the wood it was before.
Next was spray paint! I don’t know why I decided to do this after the sun went down. I am weird I know. Luckily I have light on by back deck!
As you can see below, I used metallic gold spray paint around the edges of the drawers. I chose to do this because when I was going to work on distressing, I was going to focus more on the edges as this resembles natural wear and tear of furniture. I did not want it to look so “blah” and show the same wood under there after I did this so I felt that having bits of metallic gold peeking through would be nice! So I did these to all of the drawers and some small decorative things I found around the house that I felt would add a nice touch to the desk.
That metal wire thing you see there is actually my filing system! It was meant to go in a file drawer to hold hanging file folders but I wanted something inexpensive to hold mine as the drawers are not wide enough for the folders. Instead I put this on top of the desk. I spray painted this gold as well because the metal color it was before looked so bland.
The spray paint dried up pretty quickly so I took the drawers inside and started painting them with the Timeless chalk paint. Notice how I painted all over. Everything got two coats of paint.
So I was going to same the actual desk for the next day as I did not want to carry it down the stairs! Instead I got a head start on painting the top with the chalk paint. Even though I did wait until the next day to spray paint the edges of the desk, I did in inside like a weirdo again! I had the door open and the fan on! I put plastic bags everywhere as well to protect the walls and floors!
Again, I focused on the edges...
So here is the desk after it was fully painted with the chalk paint
There were some areas where I did not go over much at all just to have a little more of that gold showing.
I went ahead and slowly started sanding the edges. I added hardware back on the put the drawers back in.
Isn’t it cool how some gold speckles peek through? I feel that the unevenness of how much gold is where makes it look more authentic.
Here is how it looks from far away after cleaning up the area a bit! I moved the computer over to the side because I felt I needed space on the desk where I could draw/ write etc. If you are wondering about the dumbbell that you see, that is just where I keep it for easy access when I work out! HAHA! My room is quite small.
You can see those frames I was talking about. Turned out to be a pretty good match! I plan on changing the images in the frames as well!
Here is what I added to the top of the desk. IT feels less cluttered now. I had way too much before. I added my colored pencils to that red porcelain container that I showed earlier that I spray painted. I also used the same technique on it.
The business card holder was painted by my boo when we went to go paint pottery. He was not proud of his work at all but I saved it because it is abstract art to me :)
For those wondering about my file system, here is how it looks with the gold paint! It also has that little mail system there so that whoever gets the mail can just put mine there. It also means that there is action to be taken if it is in there. This is actually a napkin holder from the dollar store but I felt it would be cute to use it this way!
HAHA! My boyfriend is so tired of me using the verbiage “airport chic”. He does not understand the concept! Well, here are my thoughts on it! So if you are a fashion lover, then you probably see so many pictures of celebrities flooding your news feeds that were taken of them by paparazzi. Many of them include their pictures taken while they are traveling and they always manage to still look chic!
This Kim Kardashian airport look for example….
^ This one is an oldie but goodie! I just used this one as an example as it is most similar to mine as I was looking for one haha!
Perhaps one day my airport chic look would evolve to this:
Who cares that you have to walk a whole bunch at the airport and just want to be “comfortable”? You are coming into contact with many people where you get to showcase your style! This reminds me of this meme I found:
This has happened to me way too often!
This made me laugh because I feel this way many times which causes me to not even wear most of my clothes because I do not think enough people will see, therefore, making it a waste of an outfit. I know I am not the only one now! YES!
So here is MY airport chic look that I still feel comfortable in!
I am Boohooed out! If you do not know what I mean, then it is because you are not familiar with ony of my favorite shops of all time, Boohoo!
Both the top and skirt are from this online shop. Don’t you just love shopping online? you don’t have to get up, you can literally lay I bed and shop! Then get so excited when your package arrives because it is like receiving presents! :D
Anyhoo, I just LOVE the jade color of this skirt. I have this in navy as well and will probably get some more because this style is just too cute! I actually turned the skirt so that the slit is on the front of the thigh rather than the side.
This top also caught my attention when I first saw it. I have been thinking lately that I do not have enough casual every day shirts to throw on with my casual jeans or cute skirts. I just kept buying skirts with no tops! What is wrong with me! After I started looking toward what I NEEDED which were casual tops, I came across this one. It has the lace up around the belly area which gives it a little more interest on a casual top. I can definitely see this on some ripped boyfriend jeans for an everyday look.
I have also worn this is the straps crossed in the front, then tied in the back. (photo courtesy of Boohoo.com)
Finally the Vince Comuto shoes! These are my fave shoes. I have had them for about a year and a half and wear them all the time! The possibilities for these in my wardrobe are endless! They are super comfy and easy to walk on for those wondering how I am doing all of the walking in the airport in heels! Don’t forget I am a modeling and personal development coach so I must be comfortable being in heels for long period of time! ;0)
Anyhoo, I am no stranger to the airport. I know that security is lengthy and tight and the removal of shoes is necessary for scanning. Yet, I refused to wear flip flops for this outfit. Not to worry, These have a zipper on the back for easy removal!
Who says that you have to look bummy to travel? The way I see it, you are making your arrival to your destination city! I like to think this way when I arrive at most places anyway haha. (except maybe when running errands, sometimes work, uhh some other places. Don’t tell anyone!)
So if you are reading this, it is probably because you think you are a hairy son of a gun! If so, you have probably been contemplating laser hair removal for say….your whole life!
UGH! Why didn’t I take pictures?! O well...Here is a picture of one of the treatment rooms courtesy of Lavender Medspa
If you are like me, you are not only hairy, but you are cheap!
I finally decided to take that step and do it, thanks to an interest free credit card and Groupon! YEY!
So the special was for 3 areas. I decided on lower legs (front and back are considered two areas) and underarms. At this point, I have been waxing for quite some time. I would do at home treatments or get it professionally done (especially Brazilian!). The reason why I chose these areas was because 1. I can still wear pencil skirts and tank/tube/ sleeveless tops and 2. because these areas have the highest density and thickness of any visible hair areas(besides my scalp and eyebrows) on my body!
I got to a point where I was fed up with my body hair. I started waxing because I needed something that would last longer than shaving (about 10-12 hours max before I would have at least some stubble already, seriously), and would be less stressful on my skin than shaving. Yes waxing was less stressful on my skin. Shaving should not hurt and it would hurt me because the hair was so thick! I would also have to wait at least a week between shaving because this allowed the hair to be longer and less irritating.
Waxing just seemed like a dream come true for a while. I would feel SO confident with a hairless body ( I would get everything waxed) even if I was not showing it off! Yet alas, as we are getting to learn how fast my hair growth is, waxing did not stop those little boogers from wanting to return home to mama asap! Even though not ALL the hair would grow right away, I would already have some hair growth within a few days after waxing. The good thing was that it was not as visible as quickly.
Then this started getting expensive and time consuming. I stumbled upon the best Groupon rate for laser hair removal I have seen and felt I had to take the plunge. Of course I read reviews of the place and found great things! I already had an interest free credit card and so I put it on there. I had a consultation a few years ago at a major laser center so I was aware of how expensive the pricing could really be. Now that this kind of procedure is yesterday’s news, many places are offering discounts on it!
Now on to the procedure…
I was afraid of the pain to be honest (even though I have no problem with waxing, I know I am weird). A common description for the pain is that is feels like rubber band snaps on the skin. I have watched videos over the years of people saying that it hurts. Even the esthetician said that when she did her underarms, it hurt like H-E-double hockey sticks because she had thick hair! I have thick hair! I was scared!
Here is an example of what the machine looks like. I am not sure if it is the exact one since I did not take pictures! It’s close enough (google)! The esthetician started off with my underarms. I was saying a prayer as the esthetician passed the laser over my skin. All I felt was air. I was wondering if this was a prelude to the actual procedure. Then after a few minutes, the underarms and legs were done! “Hmm,” I wondered. Was the setting was strong enough? Am I just that tolerant to pain? I guess we will see next time! I did feel very few areas though that felt like rubber band snaps. Small rubber bands hehe.
Stay tuned for some more rambling on about results after my next treatment! YEY! Also, actual pictures by me!
Why am I shrieking of excitement?! It's because of another color I fell in love with from MyBeautyAddiction on Etsy! It is called burlesque. The color is supposed to be a cross between pink and purple! I love how the mixture came out!
O look my twin! (-not!-) Why am I laughing?
could it be because of...
DUCK FACE!!
ok Jeanne stop laughing! It's not THAT funny. Yes, I am a goofball...
ok, ok. No more edits so you can see the proper color!
Yes that is a sports bra--I just had a mean workout before posting! I thought the color of it went great with the lip color!
HAHA
MUAH!!! Kisses to my supporters!
Hope this is clear enough. It looks amazing on my phone, but not as vivid when I transferred it to my computer! HAHA
Here is the image from the shop! You see there is a tad more tint of purple!
Decided to go for an artistic blog today. Here is a lip color I have been wanting to try for weeks! Dark Navy! I wanted something that was different, yet still me. Since I am obsessed with blue, and prefer darker over brighter colors on my lips, I felt navy would be the best idea!
I also recently cut my hair so decided to try the color out and take " artistic pics" aKa: extreme filters to make them look cool! HAHA
I felt so weird when first putting it on, but it did grow on me! I hope to be able to wear it soon on any occasion. I thought wearing black would look super cool with it, but it ended up looking too "Halloween-ish", so I just threw on this shoulder cut out long sleeve crop!
I am also very frugal, so I did not want to spend too much on a good lipstick that I may not like. Luckily I found this on an Etsy Shop for less than $8! The shop is called MyBeautyAddiction. They have pretty nice things. I also purchased another cool lip color that I will blog about later!
In the meantime, look at my cool ring! :D
No, I am not showing off, sort of. Not really! Ok I am a little! It was a gift from my boo so I decided to include it in the pix!
Now back to more beauty blogging:
This lip color came out a little shiner than the other one I purchased from this site, but for those of you who like matted lipsticks, I found another Etsy shop who sells a mattifying lip powder for just 2.99 with a nice vanilla flavor :)
This Shop is called Impulse Co. They also have really NICE lip colors
above in an example of that powder
This is THEIR IMAGE BY THE WAY
Not mine! HAHA. Again that is Impulse Co on Etsy!.
Stay tuned for my next lip blog then I will get back to fashion!
love the "knicker" style from the UK these past couple seasons
I purchased this dress a long time ago and finally decided to wear it for the premiere of the first short film I participated in which I mentioned in a previous post.
Above is my favorite image of the night with a view of the back of the dress. I wore my Enzo Angiolini Tanen pump from a previous post.
Below is an image with my two leading men and the director behind me.
I was not fully ready for this picture yet! However, I wanted you to see it from the front with my paired jewelry! :)
Here is a DIY I was happy with. I was inspired by Andrea's Choice on youtube! I used a black crew neck sweatshirt, bronze studs (pyramid and triangle ordered bulk on ebay), and fabric from an animal print dress that did not fit me.
You may have seen this look on my instagram @JeanneMorales
I also made this wristband using the same studs on the neckline, and a band from Hobby Lobby. Love that place!
I love this look for the colder months. It is so comfy, yet edgy.
I have worked as an extra for many films. I worked on the recent movie of Crazy Sexy Cool: The TLC story. I was fortunate enough to wear this look when I showed a combination to the wardrobe stylist as how it could have been worn in the 90s! Even Keke Palmer told me I look SO cute! that was exciting :)
I wore these jeans from Pacsun. They are one of my favorite jeans, if not my favorite. I love this color and can create so many looks with it!
Along with these OOOLDDDD Timberland boots! They are probably ten years old!
"She got a Rack full of Jays but she love her pumps"- Wale
My boyfriend told me that lyric reminded him of me. I haven't bought sneakers in a few years, but I used to find a guilty pleasure in buying retro Jordans.
I still have a small rack of my favorite ones that I use on my super casual-yet still edgy days.
I thought it would be interesting to do a famous sneaker/heel pic with coordinating colors! I chose gray! I used my retro jordan 11s/ cool grays
and my Enzo Angiolini Tanen pump. They are just so sexy! This is one of my favorite shoe designers! (Mostly because they have shoes made for my tiny size 4 feet that are still sexy!)
I recently participated in the short film.I was able to select my wardrobe for my role as a vampire and was really excited! I selected this top, from Forever 21, because I fell in love with this Goth-like pattern and felt it went perfect for the theme of the film.
I had another look that I really enjoyed during the film but will probably post about that later on.

I am sure we have all felt this way at one point! My justification for me has to be from the famous fashionista quote "I have an irrational fear of wasting a good outfit on an insignificant day!"
Some outfits wait a lifetime to be taken out and displayed for the world! In the end, it is all worth it with all the "oohs" and "ahhs" you get! As we know, we do not want to repeat our best combos too often ;)
So tip to the wise: Make due to look fabulous with a certain amount of pieces with the sole purpose of being used on these "insignificant days"!
Then when you finally breakout those masterpieces that have been sitting in the closet, you would feel as if it is brand new!
When thinking of crochet, one may think of doilies, quilts, scarves, or mittens your grandma made you. However, crochet has become a staple fabric for this summer's trends. Take a look at some of my pieces, as well as images that I have found to get some inspiration on adding crocheted items to your wardrobe!
The crochet top
The crochet shoes
These crochet shoes are from bakers. They have a bronzey base sole and ankle strap, and fun tassels
don't forget about the flirty tie-up detail!
Here are some ways I have used these:
The crochet skirt
One thing I love about crochet is the infinite possibilities of patterns that textile designers create. One of my favorite pieces in my closet is this crochet skirt. It is completely whimsical! It makes a casual and cozy type fabric, elegant and tasteful.
An accent of crochet
I fell in love with these mudd shorts and had to get them! I love how vivid the colors are and the strong contrast between each other. These just have an accent of crochet on the leg which just makes them that much more adorable!
pair these with a dark top for an even stronger blast of color contrast!
Finally, the cover up
The purpose of cover ups are to have something to go over one's swimsuit to not feel completely bare at all times, while using wide stitches to still show off the swimsuit
These can be in a form of a top or dress...
or even shorts would do the trick!
Either way, there are so many ways you can use this fabric. Try some out and let me see the creativity in your outfits!
