“I take it that you’ve heard the news,” She smirks cruelly, eyes narrowed in on on the slowly dripping stream of glowing green poison as she pours it from a vial into a bottle.

Seongmin had never been the type to want to settle down, especially over something that had been arranged for him. He was a man of free will and the thought of being told what to do never did sit right with him. However, Lady Suah was quite the surprise indeed. He found himself fall in love with her so easily over time. Finding that he'd do anything for her. Which was definitely something, seeing as he was a very selfish man.

He and Suah had been engaged for quite sometime, and Seongmin was counting down the days before he could call her his wife. But suddenly, there was news that the engagement was off. He quickly saw red as he knew exactly who was behind this.

"Jangmi!" He cried out as he ran through the halls of their home. Her demeanor toward him as he walked through the door let him know that she was waiting for his arrival. She had probably ordered it to be given to him when she knew they'd both be home, he thought.

Seongmin stared in silence as he watched her carry on as if nothing had just happened. "Why?" That was the only word he could find as he stood in the middle of the room. "Why did you do this to me?" His hand began to ball up as he watched her move as if it was nothing. And it was nothing. Nothing to her, and yet everything to Seongmin. "What did I ever do to you?"

"I don't recall ever being one to sleep walk, yet I woke up in a different place than the one I fell asleep in," She says while sitting opposite him, pouring herself a cup of tea, "Why did you come into my room last night?"

He hated hearing her call him Lord, almost as much as he hated calling her Lady. There was nothing he could do about it though, and instead decided to shake of the feeling it had left in his chest.

The night was rough, as expected, and he found himself worrying if they'd make it through this. He found himself moving to check in on Suah every few minutes throughout the night. He thought that he would be able to read how bad things were just by the look on her face. However, she seemed calm all throughout the night. Seongmin knew that she was good at hiding how she really felt, so his excuse on watching her didn't really make that much sense.

Hours later, Suah had finally fallen asleep. Her book resting against her chest, and her head resting against the wall behind her. Quietly, he moved back into the room. He slowly took the book from her hands, and gently hoisted her into his arms. He quickly put her to bed, pulling the blankets around her before moving back into the room he had been assigned. Knowing she was asleep helped him not worry as the night turned into morning . . .

Seongmin had made it into the dining area before Suah. That wasn't unusual, seeing as he didn't sleep he was the first to a lot of places while others remained sleeping. It wasn't long before he heard her voice, so he quickly acted as if his attention were elsewhere. Moving to look out the window at the somewhat choppy waters.

He only looked her way when her words were directed toward him. "Who is to say it was me, Lady Suah?" He said with a sigh as he leaned in hand her the small cup of cream in front of him, in case she wanted to put it in her freshly made tea. "You made it very clear you wanted me to stay away from you, so I did." He lied. Knowing it was no use, she'd be able to see right through the lies.

Almost as if he read her thoughts he steps closer and her heart leaps and squeezes in her chest, making her grip on the arm rest of her chair grow tighter. She nearly accuses him of prying into her thoughts but despite everything she knew that was a line Seongmin would never cross. Suah looks up from her book to make eye contact with him again, his eyes sparkling even from a distance, "What is it that you're hoping to achieve with this?"

Seongmin looked over his shoulder at the room she had motioned too. He took note of it, knowing he'd be disappearing there for the night. But not until he had his moment with Suah. He both loved and hated that she was so annoyed with him. However, he wished that she would just invite him in. He wanted nothing more than to slide in behind her and hold her as she read. Quickly he shook the thought from his mind as he heard her last question.

"I was hoping we'd become close again. Is that too much to ask?" Seongmin knew that it was indeed too much to ask. After everything they went through. After what he had just pulled. He knew that it would only make her upset with him even more, and yet he didn't mind. He yearned for her attention, whether it be good or bad.

"If you truly wish for me to be out of your way, then I'll do just that. Have a good night Lady Suah." It had been a while since he had spoken to her so formally. Part of him wished that perhaps it would catch her so off guard that she'd pull him back in. He knew he was crossing a line just by being here, and while he would never openly admit it, he felt bad about it. He bowed to her before moving to turn away and toward his own room.

"Seongmin, before you go I'm curious..." She takes a seat on one of the secured large arm chairs and uses a spell to cast a glow to the unlit candle on the table beside her, "Are you regretting this little game of yours yet?"

"I'm not worried." Seongmin's voice was cocky and filled with (false) confidence. Truth was, he was extremely worried. He had never been in a situation like this before. And while he knew he was in good hands when it came to Suah and her crew, it didn't stop the awful feeling he had in his gut each time the ship crashed against an oncoming wave. Yet, he refused to show that side of him to Suah. Refused to let her know just how horrible he felt in this moment.

He followed close behind her. The quarters of the ship were much larger than he had expected them to be. It felt like they had been walking for ages before they reached what he had assumed was Suah's favorite spot. He looked around as he imagined just how grand it must look in a situation much different than what they were in now.

Her voice caused him to jump. Almost forgetting that she was still there with him. She hadn't said anything since they were outside. Seongmin nodded his head, letting her know that he understood everything that was said to him. "Where am I to stay?" He finally asked after a moment. Part of him had hoped that he would get to stay the night with her. The other part knew it was a silly thought, especially since his whole plan hadn't worked in his favor at all.

The question that fell from Suah's lips only caused Seongmin to grin. Truthfully, yeah...he had regretted it, but that was never anything he was going to admit. Especially now that he was asked about it. "Absolutely not." He said in a smooth voice. "Quite the opposite really. Getting to spend all this time with you, it's been lovely." Seongmin couldn't help but move closer to her. "And I know you secretly love having me here."

With that she walks past him, headed down the stairs that lead away from the bow of the ship and then down below deck. She leaves the door open for him though, turning over her shoulder, "Hurry up. It's going to be a long night."

"I can be wherever I so choose to be." He said in a harsher tone than he might have meant. Seongmin hated being told what to do, even if it was meant to protect him. It mostly just made him mad. "How am I in the way when there isn't a soul near us." As he makes his way closer to her he can't help but grin as he speaks his next words. "I think you're just annoyed with me, you don't mean that at all."

"I remember, and even if I didn't." He looks over in her direction as he pauses. "I know you'd save me." He can't help but laugh at the words that seemed to fly into the wind. As he stood and stared at the waters that crashed against the boat, he couldn't help but feel a bit annoyed with himself for going through with this idea. He had missed Suah, but he was regretting choosing to be such a menace during such a bad storm.

Her words took a while to reach him but it wasn't long before he turned away from the edge of the boat and back toward where she had walked away. "Do you think it's going to be a bad one?"
