Healing takes Time

Pairing: Eret son of Eret x (g.n/fem)reader

Summary: As a healer for Berk’s dragons, you meet a lot of new dragons in different situations… but nothing prepared you for a certain ex-trapper asking for your help.

     You are one of Berk’s best dragon healers, spending almost 24/7 in the “dragon infirmary” as most call it. To you, it was home. You had been doing this job since Berk made peace with the creatures that you grew to find beautiful, feeling they needed to be treated as equals. You had always loved to help people and were known as one of the kindest Vikings in the archipelago.

     Of course, when the evil Drago Bludvist came about and practically demolished your home, you had a change of heart. You became a bit colder to newcomers and strangers, a bit, but a noticeable bit. After Hiccup and Toothless had successfully taken the madman down, it came as a shock to no one that many dragons needed healing and care for a while.

     One day, as you were releasing a Snafflefang named Muds back to his family, you were greeted by a slightly beat up Skullcrusher with none other than Eret son of Eret, the famous ex-dragon trapper at his side with concern painting his face. It dimmed your heart to see the tall man and not Stoick, the only father figure you ever had, at Skullcrusher’s side, but you would have to get used to it. You had always been skittish around the young Viking, as his tribe killed your dragon before your eyes. You weren’t sure if Eret was there when it happened, you didn’t care, all you saw was your beautiful Raincutter, Sinkah, get beheaded and thrown into the boat next to her.

     It was time to stop thinking about that and face the problem in front of you. “What brings you and Skullcrusher in, Son of Eret?” You ask with more malice than you meant. “He flew through a good 7 trees while finding boulders to rebuild, tore the beast up, they did.” You pursed you lips a bit when he said ‘beast’, but that’s the only way to describe the dragon. “He looks like he got scratched a bit, I’ll have him out of here in about and hour,” you say while examining the slashes on his green wings. “Alright. Thank you, (y/n),” Eret says as he starts to walk away.

     To your surprise, he turns back around and asks you “is there anything that I can help you with? Finding herbs or stuff to help?” This takes you aback, as you expected him to be arrogant, as he seems all the time. You look at him questionably as you ponder why he asks. “If you could get me a few perch from the lake in the east side of the island, that would be great,” you say as both you and Skullcrusher were hungry. Eret says nothing, but nods as he hurries away. That was a bit odd, you thought.

     Eret gets back in a good 30 minutes with a basket of perch, just as you had asked him. You watch as he returns, putting the last few bandages on Skullcrusher, and heading towards him. “Thank you,” you say with sincerity, as you hadn’t eaten in about 5 hours. “No problem, thanks for helping Skullcrusher,” he says back. He then asks a question you weren’t expecting: “ Do you hate me or something?”

     You are taken aback, again, by him. “Why?” You ask this because you don’t even know. “You glare at me every time you see me, specifically the markings on my chin because that’s about as high as your eyes can reach,” he says blankly. “If you must know, your tribe killed my dragon in front of me and threw her into a nearby boat and dumped me into the ocean,” you say, frowning at the memory. Eret looks appalled, he had seen those men that day, sure he was younger, but he saw how heartbroken you looked. He had sabotaged those men’s work so that Drago punished them; he never saw those men again.

     Telling you this, you realized why he always looked at you like you were familiar, why he looked at you with a look of ‘I will protect you’, rather than sympathy. Finally, shocking Eret, you hug him and mutter a thousand ‘sorry’s. He hugs back and says it’s ok. Maybe you can heal dragons in an hour, but for people, healing takes time.

That’s it for this request. Again, wonderful ask, I wrote this in 2 hours💀😭 bc I loved it soo much. Again also, feel free to request stuff in my ask box, have a good day!❤️

**Baby Steps**

Another morning, another day of feeling the baby experiment with moving its little limbs inside of you. It had been six months since you found out that you and your husband, Eret, were expecting a little one. Time would tell if it would be a little chief or chieftess(I read somewhere that Eret is the son of a chief, making him a chief ig), but you would be happy either way… not as happy or as excited as the expectant father in the picture. You hadn’t seen Eret this excited since Hiccup defeated Drago and his bewilderbeast two years ago. It warmed your heart as he became the perfect image of a father day by day. You stir from your slumber to the feeling of the baby awake and moving around. Erets hand was secure on the side of your belly where the baby was trying to kick. *Definitely going to be a daddy’s child*, you thought. Eret sensed you were awake and he inhaled deeply before giving a big stretch to wake himself up.

“Morning, Love,” you hear him mumble, barely coherent as he still tries to shake off the effects of sleep. “Morning, Eret. Sleep well?” You ask this already knowing the answer before he says it. “Yes, I did knowing the sooner I sleep, the sooner I’ll see this one,” holding your belly with both of his large, warm hands. “You’re going to be sleeping a good three months if you want to see this one,” you say while giving a slight chuckle.

“I can definitely wait that long,” your husband says as he scoots down the bed to press a gentle kiss to your growing abdomen. “I can wait until you can’t anymore, little one,” Eret softly whispers to your baby. Yes, you both were excited, and until then you would both take baby steps to keep that excitement going.

I think this is kinda badddd😭 But i liked the general idea of where this story was going bc this man has my HEART. Anyways, thank you for the request, and feel free to criticize my work and suggest anything in my ask box!

SoD Memorial

It has come to my attention that on June 30th, 2023, JumpStart will be shutting down their servers for School of Dragons, a game based on How to train your Dragon. This is a heartbreak to most of the people that have played this game and hopefully will see this post. Let me give you my share of this game:

I started playing when I was little, I recently had a titan wing Sand Wraith named Midnight. She was black and a sea green color, she turned bright pink where the green was in the hidden world. She was level fifty, my name was viviantheLovely, level fifty. I completed the Battle for the Edge, Icestorm Island, Defenders of the Wing, and Return to Dragon Island expansion packs. I had over 20 dragons, the most recent being a Flame Whipper named Pascal, a Death Song named Garfield, a Razorwhip named Platinum, and a Singetail named Spark. I remember being frustrated with the game, and over joyed by it. My favorite activity was Dragon Tactics even though I absolutely despised it when I first came out in the game. I, for whatever reason hated the seasonal events such as Thawfest, Snoggletog, Dreadfall, and Summarhilder. I also loved to fish, making sure I had 200 glow worm baits and catching 10 fish per island. I did a lot of farming and always had and abundant supply of eggs from chickens and ostriches.

There were multiple times where I would delete the app to take a break, and then redownload it from missing it too much. Thank you School of Dragons for being with me for the past however many years and being with everyone else. This game will always be a part of my childhood and I will forever love and cherish the memories made with this game.

I would like to make this clear: I never said that I thought an age gap greater than 3 years was big, I don’t think it is. I simply said that I wont write it. This has next to nothing to do with my maturity level, but if me saying I won’t write something simply because I do not want to, tells you ‘everything you need to know’ about my maturity, then don’t read anything from my blog. I do not care if you think I should grow up; what I write can alone prove I am ‘grown up’ enough. Great. Another mutt that I have to deal with. These ones were different, kind of like monkeys but bigger. As I watch my last ally die by being clawed in the throat, I begin to, for the first time in a while, feel fear. I hate fear. It’s like a pitch black box that I’m trapped in, unable to escape from. I’m already running to the beach when I hear a scream: “(Y/N)” I know that scream… it’s Johanna’s.

I have to see her. If the rumors are true, if they were all saved from the Capitol, I need to see Johanna Mason. That’s the only coherent thought in my brain at the moment. Life is bleak and dismal in District 13; sleep, bomb, wake up and eat, bomb, get to work, bomb. The Capitol is bombing us every four hours, or so it feels like that. I’ve lost and sense of reason behind keeping track of time here, it’s all the same.

“(Y/n)!” I hear Finnick say my name as he runs over, breathless. Any girl would find this sexy, maybe some guys, as well. However I tend to focus more on women than men, they disgust me…most of the time. “What’s going on, Finnick?” I trust Finnick enough to ask this because he understands how I feel right now. He lost his love, Annie, to the Capitol and I have lost mine to them as well. Finnick is one of the few people who knows about me and Johanna, I like to keep that sort of stuff to myself. “It’s true, they’re back! They’re back from the Capitol!” Finnick says as I feel the gears in my head starting to work. God, it’s been so long since I’ve thought about anything other than Johanna, that I start to feel a bit lightheaded. Finnick steps close and holds me as he can see that I’m starting to sway. My love is home, or as home as this can get.

He and I start to run towards the hospital, and I kick the door open. Immediately, as if we were each glowing neon, we lock eyes and can’t look away. Johanna tried to get out of bed, but I run to her and gently push her back down. “You need to rest, Love.” I say as I’m barely holding back tears. “I’ve missed you so much, (Y/n/n).” I let the tears fall as she says this, I hug her and hold her close to me.

I don’t know what he’ll she’s been through, or what he’ll we’ll go through in the future. But I WILL be with her holding her hand or hugging or kissing her as we go through together. Because it’s what Johanna deserves, and I’m willing to give it to her, but now I will sit with her head on my chest as we both lay on her hospital bed and sleep together for the first time in forever.

I know that this is short, but I really did like this request. I think that Johanna DEFINITELY deserved better and I will think that u til the day I die. Feel free to request, comment, or criticize.

I had this idea at four in the morning, and it’s 4:15…so, yk how it goes. I’m thinking this could be a series.

Summary: you quite literally run into an infamous Weasley while on the train to Hogwarts.

Pairing: Fred Weasley x Fem! Reader

Warnings: prob some cringe worthy moments and fluff, Im also American so Ill rephrase stuff, but otherwise, no.

    Excited, nervous, anxious, happy...all words for what I was feeling about this school year. On my eleventh birthday I was sent an owl, no joke. An owl flew up to my kitchen window with an envelope in its mouth while Mom and I were making cookies. The envelope happened to be a letter from Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry, a school of magic. Mom and I were shocked, so we followed the letter’s directions and the next thing I knew this guy named Rubeus Hagrid was leading Mom and I to a place called Diagon Alley. There were so many magical shops including Ollivander’s which held my very own wand that I will have for the rest of my life. 14 inches of beautiful, silvery-white, aspen wood with a unicorn hair for a core. It’s already my closest friend aside from the white Eurasian Eagle owl I bought from the Magical Menagerie. I named him Pogonip, or Pogo for short.  After I got everything, Mom and I went home to get ready for King's Cross the next day.

I start walking to platform 9 with Mom and see a ginger lady sending off her kids by telling them to run through the wall between 9 and 10. I don't know what to think so I say one final goodbye to my mother and off I run through the wall. I appear in a crowded area where kids are getting on a train called the Hogwarts Express. This is it, I think, I'm going to Hogwarts. 

I board the train with Pogo and find a compartment to sit in. I decide to go to the bathroom once the train's pulled out and on my way back I run into a blur of red hair. "Oh, sorry!" a voice says to me, the weight had actually knocked my light ass onto the ground. "Are you alright?" the voice asks me. I respond with a muttered “yes” as the surprisingly strong arms help me up to my feet. When I regain my vision completely I see a very handsome boy about my age, by the looks of it, scanning my face for bruises or whatever might appear on my complexion. “I’m Fred,” says the freckled ginger, “Y/N,” I respond.

Fred offers to walk me to his compartment where I am greeted with another ginger that is obviously his identical twin. Which one was older or more sane, I couldn’t tell…yet. “Y/N met George, George, Y/N,” Fred says as he opens the sliding glass door for me. I meet George’s gaze and realize that George has stony, cold, blueish-grey eyes, while Fred has warm, chocolate-brown ones. I learned quickly not to let his eyes deceive me; George seemed more devious and silly than Fred which was saying a lot. Fred appeared almost shy next the younger twin. “So, Y/N,” George begins, “did the letter come as a shock to you?” Fred elbows George lightly, but hard enough to make George let out a slight grunt. I didn’t know of this was supposed to be rude or anything, so I took the safest route possible and answered with a “yes”.

*later at Hogwarts for the sorting. We’ll make Y/N a Gryffindor just fro the sake of the story line…and in case I make this a series😏. She’s gotten to know the twins very well by this point*

I walk with the twins and all the other first years to Gryffindor common room. My new home, I think to myself. My new family for the next seven years, actually scratch that, my new family forever.  The thought gives me this feeling that I can’t figure out the name of. It’s not a bad feeling, though, so I don’t worry about it too much. After the three hour train ride, I’e gotten to know the Weasley twins quite well…especially Fred. Have I started to grow feelings for him? Maybe, do I know yet? Im pretty sure I do. Will I let that get in the way of our new-found friendship? Absolutely not, it might just be a crush. I guess I’ll wait and find out.

“So, how you doing Midget?” I already know it’s Fred, he developed that name in the first 20 minutes we met. It’s been almost a week since that wonderful, anxious, nerve-wracking day that I would pay anything to go through again. “I’m alright, Ginger,” I didn’t make that name up until now, I just wanted something to retaliate with. “Ginger? Since when was that my name?” He asks. “Since now,” I say. He smirks at this, I think he thinks it’s some sort of game I’ve managed to make up in my abnormally large brain; I’m currently excelling at everything, including Potions and Defense Against the Dark Arts which my professors were not expecting. “Alright,” he says, lightly slugging me in the shoulder. If he thinks it’s a game, then let the games begin…
