Congrats if you survived this year because what the fuck was that
forgive and forget? no. resent and remember #mygrudge
my mum has severe knee problems and needs a replacement. Today she was told she's too fat to be operated on and the knee specialist suggested she gets a gastric band - which also involves surgery. So my mum was like first of all you didn't read my file because it explains that I'm not fat because I eat too much second of all you said it's impossible for me to get surgery and then suggested I get a surgery about it? He then asked her her weight and height, didn't believe her answer, and made her prove it to him because she "looks fatter than that". So she was like so you also just entirely based this on looks instead of actual numbers?
My mom went through something similar. She needed a knee replacement and her doctor wouldnât okay it until she lost weight, which was difficult given the whole knee problem preventing her from walking thing. He told her she was too dangerous to operate on and that there were just too many risks.
My mom tried to lose weight in vain for months before she finally gave into my begging her to get a second opinion. The first doctor she saw next scheduled her for surgery the same day she met him. When my mom asked about the risk of operating on her he told her that there was some minor risks for complication and that all she would need to do to alleviate the risk was spend an extra night in the hospital so that they could keep a look out for any complications.
There were zero. There were also zero complications when she had her other knee done, her hip replaced and her gallbladder removed.
Almost like the first doctor was entirely full of shit and just trying to coerce his patient to lose weight by scaring her for fucking nothing, even when she was living day to day in excruciating pain and desperately needed a surgery.
I feel like people keep forgetting that Velvette was actually the first to propose taking over heaven, all the way back in season one. We arenât sure what kind of briefing the Veeâs had before the overlord meeting, but considering Vox and Valentino were losing their shit over Alastor and Angel Dust, respectively, I can imagine she was the one holding things together for that stretch.
No one talks about it, and itâs so interesting. Obviously Vox deserves to be made fun of for his megalomania, but Velvette was on it from day one. One singular dead angel. No idea how it happened, or if it was replicable. Doesnât matter. She goes in with full confidence telling the other overlords (at her FIRST EVER MEETING BTW) to âtake the fight to themâ (heaven).
(And then she stays at home watching TV during the extermination while three OTHER overlords who initially shot her down are contributing, but that feels more like a group decision on the Veeâs part)
Moving onto season two, she didnât doubt their plan for a second. Even as it was clear Vox was pushing her and Valentino out more and more, she STILL took them eventually ruling heaven together as a given. Iâm positive she still believes they could have done it if Vox didnât go nuts. Thatâs drive. Thatâs dedication. No wonder she and Vox get along.
the accent really makes this
Draw it bad. Draw it ugly, draw it wrong, draw it incorrect or inaccurate but for the love of everything there is you have to draw it.
YOU GUYS ITâS DECEMBER 10TH YOU DONâT UNDERSTAND THIS HAS BEEN IN MY QUEUE SINCE FEBRUARY
you have the rest of the day to reblog this
I hear this from a lot of women, friends, family members, online posts, theyâll talk about something their partner is repeatedly doing that is annoying, inconsiderate, irresponsible or straight up malicious and then be like âI donât want to bring it up [AGAIN, OFTEN THEYâVE ALREADY ADDRESSED IT] because I donât want to be a nagging wife/girlfriend.â
Are you afraid to confront him because you genuinely donât want to bother him or potentially hurt his feelings or are you afraid to confront him because you know he thinks working with you on any issue is a chore and he will call you a âbitchâ under his breath? Generally, in my experience, the women Iâve known who were known for nagging were nagging because their dumbass husbands refused to do anything. They had to tell him to help clean out the garage or call his kids multiple times because the bastard was irresponsible and lazy and could not manage his own life and so his wife had to step in and she became the villain for it. Of course marriage isnât always a 50/50, there are some marriages where the husband is generally (and not maliciously) forgetful/has ADHD and requires more direction from his wife, the difference is that he is grateful for the help and would not complain about her nagging to all his buddies.
Youâre in no danger of becoming âthe nagging girlfriend/wifeâ if you have a good partner and you are attempting to communicate in a way that is constructive and helpful. If you find yourself HAVING to nag your partner, rethink the relationship. If he makes you feel like he perceived your feedback as a chore or an annoyance or a sign youâre not the perfect laid back cool girlfriend, fuck him! Not sexually, get that irresponsible manbaby out of your house.
We all knew this was how it was going to happen and it was fucking perfect.
Alastor is technically correct. The best kind of correct.
Changing my belief system from "this is the hill I'll die on" to "this is the hill I'll kill you on" has done absolute wonders for me 10/10 do recommend
"you really gonna die on that hill?"
"someone is."
When people on the internet tell you that americans really do not grasp how homogenously white Europe can be, I'd like to bring up the fact that I've been in two separate incidents where someone learned as an adult that black people have lighter shade skin on the palm of their hands, because they'd never seen one that close. And I don't mean people living in "driving a tractor to school" kind of isolated rural backcountry, either, but both living in one of the top 20 largest cities in the country.
And I know that they hadn't heard that before because I was the one that old them. First incident was a conversation where I pointed out that it's a nice detail that they gave this black character paler palms like black people do in real life, despite of the art style being so cartoonishly minimalistic that they could've simply not done that, and getting a response of "wait they've got what?"
And it would be unfair of me to claim that the incidents were unrelated, because even though the two of them have never met, I was telling the second person about the first incident, stating that I was surprised that he genuinely hadn't known that, and getting a response of "wait they've got what?"
i really fuck with it when my oomfs start their posts in media res. they'll open it with a phrase like "it's just funny because..." and then i look at their blog to see what's funny and. nothing.
