I highly recommend Forvo.com, the website where native speakers of a language contribute their time and voices to read words and names in their own language. It is a fantastic way to expand your world, open up your ears, and it's way more likely to nab a hit than just googling.

IT guy at work playfully gave me shit for using duckduckgo as my search engine and i shrugged "it lets me turn off ai results". and he said i "really hate technology for someone working in a tech role"

i responded, "i actually love technology, i just prefer to be in charge of what i do with it". got real quiet despite that being a very reasonably sane thing to say. hmmm

i just ended a friendship over someone sending me youtube links to ai music despite me saying it bothered me. its always been about consent. don't underestimate my ability to respond to ai with the same preemptive rage and determination that i use when men give me unwanted attention.
